3 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection 3 1. Getting Started 1.1 Installing ServIT s installation package is ServItSetup.msi. It contains the software and repairing/uninstalling script. Package does not contain licensing key, so WinFXNet must be installed on the same workstation. Same key is used on both programs. If ServIt does not find licensing file from default location, it will ask the key from user, after which the file will be copied under default folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Pelco\WinFXNet). 1.2 License and USB key In addition to a license file, ServIT needs an Aladdin USB key, which is also the same USB key that WinFXNet uses.

4 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection 4 2. User Operations Note! ServIT changes communication mode automatically and needs Panel Access Code. User must give this in Settings page. 2.1 General operation Panel status is shown in upper right corner of the UI at all times. Possible states for the panel are: - Debug (FX panel is responding to ASCII commands) - Programming (FX panel is in a state where software update / firmware installation is possible) - Info (FX panel is in Info mode, transmitting messages in binary protocol) - Unconnected (Servit cannot connect to the panel for some reason) - Transition state ( Changing mode, Restarting panel etc.) Detect state (version query) attempts to determine which state the panel is in, by doing a version query first in Debug, then in Programming and lastly in Info mode. If no version response is returned, the panel is assumed to be in Unconnected state. This query is run automatically when Servit is started, but it can be done manually from here as well. Latest actions in Debug and Info mode are shown in a tab near the bottom of the screen. These can be seen in more detailed view in Terminal window, which is located under Settings. A progress bar is shown in the bottom. It may be in animated state (when an operation takes unknown time to finish) or it may show actual progress, such as when FX software update is in progress.

5 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection Software Update If a fire panel has been connected to the workstations serial port (either a real or a virtual USB port), all loop cards that the panel has are shown in the left side of Programming tab. Card types, which update are not supported, will be shown in grey (for example, CLC, PS and all networked cards). It is possible to update one or more cards by choosing the desired card type and update file. Note! ServIT does not check, whether the update file suits the chosen card type. For example, when updating a MC unit, do not choose a file that is meant for MC2 card, unless you are certain that the panel has a card that is MC2 type! The reason for this is that in certain situations (for example LC vs SLC) it is possible to choose some other file than the default. After the updated cards have been chosen and correct update files have been selected, press Update. The fire panel is then switched to programming state (which takes appr. 20 seconds) and software update begins. Update time varies by card type, from 2 to 10 minutes per card. If Restart after update option has been chose, the panel will be restarted after update. Cards can also be added manually to the list by clicking Add unit manually. This does not check whether the card actually exists in the panel. This may be used in a situation when panel or card is in programming (or unresponding) state and does not appear to the unit list automatically. It is possible to add an IC unit manually. In this case, the IC card must be manually set to programming state before proceeding (with a jumper). Also, other cards can not be updated while IC update is in progress.

6 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection Commissioning Commissioning tab allows user to choose a loop card and then send commands to different addresses. Pick a loop card from the left side, then choose applicable command (for example, SetLED), then choose loop number and send the command by clicking one or more addresses from the grid. If the main card is new enough version (upwards from April 2011), then valid (confirmed by panel to exist) addresses are shown as green. Also in this case, loop numbers will be shown in a combo box above the address list. Otherwise, the loop number must be entered manually in the upper right corner of the tab. When doing a commissioning command, the panel will be switched to DEBUG (ASCII) state if it was in Info state previously. If panel was already in Info state when Servit was started, a button will be shown that enables switching panel to Debug state (in order to get installed cards). Simulated alarms may be silenced or reset under Suppress action.

7 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection Address Data Address Data tab allows sending a contamination query to a specific address or a whole loop. When the query is started, the FX panel is automatically switched to using INFO protocol, if it is not in that state already. Results are shown in a grid (as seen in the picture) and are sortable by type.

8 User Instructions GB0 Fire Detection Autoconfig Automatic configuration works simply by choosing the desired card and pressing Autoconfig. The effect is the same as a dumpf command given in a terminal. 2.6 Settings Settings tab enables to select the active COM port, connection speed, panel service code and possible log file settings. Note, that in software programming the baud rate is always regardless of setting. A few Info commands for testing purposes are also included. Two possible log files can be created: Log with all ASCII and INFO messages, or a log with only commissioning commands. The latter is a CSV compatible file that can be copied to Excel for reporting purposes. NOTE: If there are problems regarding INFO mode, such as panel responding only to some commands, state changing is not working etc., check that the panel service code is set correctly! If the code is incorrect or missing, the FX panel will not respond to all info commands, such as state changing commands, which are necessary for Servit to operate normally.
