The Site Streaming feature provides a reliable and automated local virtual software deployment for branch or satellite offices that may have low bandwidth. This new feature allows third party software to integrate with the Streaming agent to better optimize Streaming locations. Once Site Streaming is set up, Workspace Streaming first checks for applications and dependencies on local branch endpoints. If possible, streaming queries are resolved locally before using an external application repository at the corporate datacenter. For information on the new APIs for Site Streaming, please see the following knowledge base article : In the past, creating multiple packages at the same time resulted in multiple progress status windows. The new stackable progress bars allow for all in process progress bars to appear in a single window. Note: The new progress bar only displays the overall Virtual Installation Progress and does not break the process into individual steps. To enable the feature, you must set PB_USE_SINGLE_PROGRESS_DIALOG=true in the AppStreamCfg.txt

3 Symantec Endpoint Virtualization 6.1 SP8 Release Notes Supported platforms 3 Support for GPO settings Changes to LDAP Additionally, the title bar of the dialog box (Virtual Installation Progress) can be removed by adding SingleProgressDialog.ShowTitleBar=false to the AppStreamCfg.txt The Symantec Workspace Streaming Agent now supports GPO (Group Policy Object) updates. Streaming client configurations can now be pushed through the domain group policy by creating and importing a Windows Administrative Template (ADM) file in the Group Policy Management Tool. For more information on this feature and for GPO templates please see the following Connect article: Configuring the Streaming Agent using Group Policy Object updates When a Server starts up in Active Directory (AD) mode it queries AD to determine which site the server is located in. It uses this site definition and further queries to get a list of available global catalogs (GC) and domain controllers (DC). To achieve this change the following query modifications were made: Allow a manual override of the site name. Use the registry to look up the server site. Virtual Composer There is no upgrade path for Wise Virtual Composer. First uninstall the previous version and then install the new. Any changes you've made to the installation folder (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Wise Virtual Composer) should be backed up. This includes changes to the packager.ini file, sample scripts, and default templates. After the new version is installed you can copy these files back to the installation folder.

Reset function does not work when using WMI. Workspace Virtualization Workspace Virtualization The package, in most cases Quick Time, contains a new runtime and a policy forcing all applications to use the new runtime. Since the new version only exists in the layer it cannot load the runtime assembly and delivers a NOT_FOUND error. Reset function does not work when using WMI. Issue is currently being looked at by development. TECH TECH Unable to find Wscript.exe when called from system path variable. Workspace Virtualization Using an OnEvent action to launch VBScripts fails because wscript.exe cannot be found when called with the path implied. TECH New progress bars may not show entire package name. Workspace Streaming The package name is limited to 20 characters and therefore may not show entire name. For example, Microsoft Office Word 2003 will appear as Microsoft Office Wor. Not applicable

Virtual Composer When an exclude entry is created for a package, such as "D:", it is changed to "[SYSTEMDRIVE]\D:" after a COMPILE action when using Workspace Virtual Composer (WVC). This behavior is not seen when using the SVS Admin Tool, or by simply importing the package into WVC. TECH Fixed issues The following are issues that were fixed in this release Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP8 fixed issues Fixed an issue that caused the FE status to show the Application Portal as not available in the C&M console after SWS server upgrade. Fixed an issue that caused slower launch times when streaming Attachmate Suite. Fixed an issue that caused LDAP to appear as up (green status) when it was actually down. Fixed an issue that caused import issues on certain packages using Flexible Package Distribution. Fixed an issue that caused the upgrade list box to not properly display text during upgrade. Fixed an issue that caused the Streaming Agent GUI to open behind other open windows on select operating systems. Fixed an issue that caused problems when launching deactivated applications directly from the portal page. Fixed an issue that caused poor LDAP performance and authentication failures.

Fixed an issue that caused an error when launching conventionally installed Adobe Acrobat from an IE 8 layer. Fixed an issue that caused the WSAPI RemoveProvisions to remove some provisions but not the specified provisions. Workspace Virtualization 6.1 SP8 fixed issues Fixed an issue that caused the save action to not properly function when attempting to export an item from a 64-bit registry hive. Fixed an issue that caused problems when virtualizing SAS software. Fixed an issue that caused certain applications to launch from the browser but not the executable. Fixed an issue that caused setting token privilege issues in FSLLIB. Fixed an issue that caused certain security settings of the layer to change the case (upper to lower) of case sensitive folder names. Fixed an issue that caused isolation rules for Java Virtual Machine to no longer work properly. The interface is exposed through a web services description language (WSDL) document. The WSDL document provides details on the published methods and objects. Most programming languages provide support for SOAP web services including C#, Visual Basic, C++, Java, Python, and others. Most languages provide the ability to automatically generate proxy classes using the WSDL document.
