9 Introduction Introduction 1 Introduction The CAP/REx 500 includes a full function block library for the terminal REx 500 series of protection and control terminals. 13 Installation Instructions 1 Installation This chapter describes: Program requirements Installation After installation 1.1 Program requirements Table 1: In order to install and use CAP/REx 500 you need: Requirements CAP 531 * or higher One of operative systems: Windows 3.11, Windows 95 or Windows NT 1.2 Installation procedures CAP/REx 500 files are shipped in a compressed format. Follow these steps to decompress and copy all files into a specific directory: 1 Start Windows (Windows 3.11, Windows 95 or Windows NT). 2 Insert the disk into the diskette drive. 3 Open the Program Manager or choose the <Start> button on the task bar 4 Select the Run command from the File menu. 5 Type: a:\install in the command line box if the disk is in drive A, or Type: b:\install if it is in drive B. 6 Select <OK>, or press Enter, and a dialogue box appears on the screen. From this point you will be helped through the process of the installation by a dialogue box structure. Just answer the questions and make your choice. 1MRK UEN*

14 Installation Instructions Fig. 1 Installation dialogue box You can either choose to continue or to abort the installation. If the installation is aborted the following dialogue box appears. Fig. 2 Abort installation dialogue box If you select <Exit Installation> at any step of the installation process when the button Exit Installation is pressed. This means that nothing will be really installed on to your computer. This will not be done until the last confirmation when <Install> is selected, see Fig. 6 When <Ok> is selected in the dialogue box presented in Fig. 2 the following dialogue box appears on the screen: 10 1MRK UEN*2.0-00

If you do not want to install example configurations, click on the check box in the dialogue in front of the Install example configurations for CAP/REx 500A. 1 Select the <Next> button. If CAP 531*1.3 is not installed, the following warning dialogue appears: Fig. 4 Warning dialogue when CAP 531 *1.3 haven t been installed previously After that the installation process is aborted. You need to install CAP 531 tool version 1.3 and make new try of REx 500 module installation. 1MRK UEN*

If a version of CAP/REx500A module has been installed on the computer, a message CAP/REx500A is already installed is presented instead of the message in Fig. 5. 17 Installation Instructions By pressing the button <Install> the decompression of the files on to the hard drive of your computer begins at this point. The progress will be showed in the following dialogue: Fig. 7 Processing installation dialogue box The decompressed files will be placed in the directory structure where CAP 531 Tool is installed, e.g. C:/CAP531/Modules/REx500A. 18 Installation Instructions The following dialogue will appear if you chose to install the example configurations in fig. 3. Fig. 9 Instructions of how to use the templates. 1.3 After installation Start the CAP 531 tool and create a new project. Insert a new terminal in the project. You select terminal type REX500A for all REx5xx terminals Ver 2.0. The CAP/REx module is a superset of all terminals described in Introduction. When you want to work with one of the example configurations, run Insert Template from the Edit menu. When you want to work with a certain terminal type, we recommend you to run Terminal Options in the Edit menu, and select the terminal type from the \modules\rex500a\termopt directory. When You do this, you will get the complete set of functions that can be included in the selected terminal type in your list of functions. 27 AB License Agreement IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE OPENING This legal document is an agreement between You, the user, and AB, Västerås, SWEDEN. By opening the diskette package You indicate your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this agreement. If You do not agree to the terms of this agreement, promptly return the unopened diskette package and other items which are part of the product for a full refund. Your product is a single user version unless you have a written agreement with AB. SOFTWARE LICENSE 1. Grant of License 2. Copyright 3. Term 4. Other Restrictions This AB License Agreement ( License ) grants you the nonexclusive right to use one copy of the enclosed software program ( SOFTWARE ) on a single computer (i.e., with a single CPU) at a single location at any time. If you have multiple Licenses for the SOFTWARE you may have as many copies of the SOFTWARE in use as you have Licenses. The software is owned by AB or its suppliers and is protected by Swedish copyright laws, international treaty provisions, and all other applicable national laws. Therefore you must treat the SOFTWARE as any other copyrighted material (e.g., a book or musical recording) except that if the software is not copy protected you may either (a) make a copy of the SOFTWARE solely for backup or archival purposes, or (b) transfer the SOFTWARE to a single hard disk provided you keep the original solely for backup or archival purposes. You may not copy the Documentation accompanying the SOFTWARE. The License is effective until terminated. This License will terminate automatically without notice from AB if you fail to comply with any provision of this License. Upon termination you shall return the diskettes containing the SOFTWARE and all Documentation to AB and destroy any copies of the SOFTWARE or any portions of it which has not been returned to ABB Network Partner AB, including copies resident in computer memory. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell or give away the SOFTWARE, but you may transfer your rights under this AB License Agreement on a permanent basis provided you transfer all copies of the SOF TWARE and all written materials, and the recipient agrees to the terms of this Agreement. You may not modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the SOFTWARE. You may not modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works based on the written materials. LIMITED WARRANTY Limited Warranty Customer Remedies No Other Warranties No Liability for Consequential Damages AB warrants that the software will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying Product Manual(s) for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery from AB, Västerås. AB does not warrant that the SOFTWARE is free from coding errors. AB s entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall be, at AB s option, either (a) return of the price paid or (b) repair or replacement of the SOFTWARE that does not meet AB s Limited Warranty and which is returned to AB with a copy of your receipt. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the SOFTWARE has resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement SOFTWARE will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or 30 days, whichever is longer. AB disclaims all other warranties, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, with respect to the SOFTWARE, accompanying Product Manual(s) and written materials. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. Neither AB nor anyone else who has been involved in the creation, production or delivery of this product shall be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages (including damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, and the like) arising out of the use or inability to use such product even if AB has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In any case, AB's entire liability under any provision of this agreement shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the software. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT By opening the diskette package you acknowledge that you have read this agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. You also agree that it is the complete and exclusive statement of the agreement between the parties and supersedes all proposals or prior agreement, oral or written, and any other communications between the parties relating to the subject matter of the licence or limited warranty. This Agreement is governed in all aspects by Swedish law. If any provisions of this Agreement are invalid or unenforceable, all others will remain in effect.
