4 This chapter only contains an overview of the technical installation instructions and requirements The License Server and CMS are complex systems and each warrants their own Installation guides. These guides are found in the CMS and LS product packages. Before you proceed it is recommended you visit where you can find the latest updates, FAQs and documentation System overview The consists of up to four elements: Skills manikins o The manikins connected to the Resusci Anne Skills Station PC Skills training and testing software o The measurement and voice feedback software Laerdal CMS o Manages users and progress o Allows the administrator to set up and manage the (s) o Allows the users to book skills training and testing sessions Laerdal License Server o Manages licenses Please note: A PC is not included in the product from Laerdal Medical and must be supplied by the customer. The Resusci Anne Skills station is a hierarchical Server / Client system. At the top of the hierarchy is the Competence Management System (CMS) with its advanced user control, monitoring features and booking functions. Next we find the License Server which connects to the CMS if one has been configured. The License Server can be seen as a license-filter between the and the CMS, where the license information is stored. 5 Finally we have the actual where users interact with the manikin used for training and certification. User information and license information is not stored locally but is retrieved every time a user logs on. Additionally, if an Active Directory has been configured the CMS will look up users in the Active Directory, adding another layer. 7 Installation overview Steps to be taken Below are the steps required to install the full system. 1. Make yourself familiar with the full system setup and minimum requirements 2. Decide which setup fits your needs best. For example: If the Active Directory integration should be implemented. More info about options can be found in Chapter Identify a server on which to install the CMS and License Server 4. Install and configure the CMS 5. Install and configure the License Server 6. Identify a location and PC for the 7. Install and configure the with manikins 8. Test that everything works Installing the The is the main program where the users interact. It is installed on the PC connected to the Skills test manikins. During installation you must configure the program to talk to a License Server. The program will not work without a properly installed License Server containing the correct licenses. Information on how to use and configure the advanced parameters in the program is found in chapter 4 Tuning Parameters. Installation steps 1. Insert the CD and start Setup.exe 2. Select a language for the installer 3. Agree to the license agreements 4. Select language packs to install. Several languages can be installed at the same time. 8 5. Select the type of manikin(s) which will be connected to this Skills Station. There are 3 scenarios associated with each manikin. 6. Next you must select the barrier device which will be used by the students. If you select more than one, the students will be prompted to select which one they are going to use. The choice affects the picture set, videos and voice feed back. 7. If should support sending certificates to the user's account, an SMTP address must be provided 8. You will be asked to provide the License Server s IP address. Enter the IP address and click the Test button to test the connection. See below for troubleshooting information. 9. Select where to place in the Start menu 10. Select whether the shortcuts should be created for all users or only the current user. 11. Select the installation path 12. The installation will install Flash player automatically if it is not already installed 13. Installation will now finish. License Server configuration To be able to log in, you will need to have licenses available in the License Server. Check these items if you are experiencing problems connecting to the License Server o Has the License Server been installed correctly? Is the service running? Are there licenses available in the License Server? Installing the CMS and License Server The CMS and License Server have their own s. Please consult these guides for detailed technical information. 10 Installation hints This is a brief overview of the steps needed to configure the License Server to use the CMS. 1. Install CMS 2. Log in as Administrator 3. Go to the Configuration screen and set a License Server password 4. Install the License Server and open it 5. Go to the dropdown menu and select Server Options 6. Click the CMS button to open the CMS configuration screen 7. Select Synchronize with CMS 8. Make sure the URL to the CMS is correct. 9. Set the same password as the one you configured in the CMS 10. Go to the License Server and find a user to test with. 2. Double click on the user and grant a license 3. Go to the Skills Station and log in as the test user (normally with Windows credentials). 4. After logging in, the correctly attached manikins should be found by the program 5. Try to pass one of the scenarios 6. Log out and close the program 7. Log in again as the same user 8. You should see the progress from your last session 9. Log out and close the program If the CMS is not used 1. Go the License Server and create a test user.
