5 VMp Live User Guide Before you begin Thank you for purchasing the ViewCast Media Platform (VMp ) Live. This user guide provides stepby-step instructions for using your new media management software. For the latest ViewCast product information and news, visit our website at Product description VMp Live enables users of Niagara products to view, schedule, and manage a network of systems and encoders. You can extend VMp Live with additional management functionality of the created assets by upgrading to VMp Portal. VMp Live is available as an independent server-deployed application or as an add-on component on rack mounted Niagara systems. This software product lets you schedule and automate the operation of your ViewCast encoding solutions. The appropriate encoding profile will automatically start and stop as recurring or one-time events according to the schedule. You can schedule events against specific encoding profiles on one or many encoding devices. You also have the option to view the status of encoders, preview streams, and check settings and encoding profiles on a calendar and program schedule view. Audience The audience for this user guide includes anyone who uses or administers the VMp Live add-on. Users should have a basic understanding of streaming media. This user guide provides information on VMp Live deployed on as an independent server application only. ViewCast 1
