1 Custom IP Address Setup / Configuration Requirements: 4 Reserved Static IP Addresses for: PLC, Main HMI, Murr Block, Truckfill HMI Note: The method of changing IP Addresses is the same between a Retrofit and Combo Unit (NXT). Default Settings Default Addresses set during initial testing by Panel Manufacturer: PLC: Murr Block (JNC PNL): Main HMI: Truckfill HMI: If these addresses are not configured properly or improperly changed communications between these devices will not work. Changing PLC Address Connect to the PLC, either via Ethernet cable or USB 2.0 cable(recommended). Right Click on the PLC (1769-L24ER-QBFC1B) under the Ethernet Tree and select properties:

2 Select the Internet Protocol Tab:

3 Select the Manually Configure IP settings option. Enter the NEW IP address information in the IP Settings Configuration menu. Set the IP address of the MURR Module (JNC PNL) in the PLC program.

4 Right click on ETHERNET-MODULE Cube20 and select properties. Change the IP Address from to the new IP Address. o DO NOT CHANGE ANY OF THE CONNECTION PARAMETERS! o Changing the Input, Output, or Configuration values will negatively impact how the PLC interprets the Murr Blocks communications ONLY CHANGE THE IP ADDRESS. Setting PLC to boot from SD CARD Change PLC to Program Mode or REM PROG Mode.

5 Click on controller properties. Click on the Non-Volatile memory tab Click the Load/Store Button. (will be grayed out if not online and in program mode) Change Load Image to: On Power UP Load Mode: Run (remote only) Disable Automatic firmware update.

6 This will configure the PLC to boot from the SD card in PLC on power up. You can now load/store an image on the SD CARD or place an existing SD CARD program into the PLC and power cycle the PLC to load that program. Be sure to place the PLC Back into RUN mode. When completed. Changing Murr Block (JNC PNL) Address Assuming the Module has already been configured at the Manufacturer: Connect to the Murr-Module with a computer on the x network. Type in into a web browser, and you will receive this page: This is the initial splash page of the Murr modules. To change the IP address of the module click on the Properties tab of Slot 000.

7 This menu allows you to change the IP Address of the Murr-Module. Any changes to the IP address of this module must also be made on the PLC program to reflect the new addressing scheme and ensure proper connectivity. (Done in the previous steps) Ensure that the Method of IP Resolution is set to Static. Specify the New IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway. Click Save Settings & Reset System. This will store the new IP address configuration (as displayed via Stored IP ). On power reset this will be the new IP Address of the Murr-Module. Once all Changes have been verified and Saved Click the Save/Load Tab.

8 This tab allows you to save the new configuration changes. Clicking Save Configuration in Flash will save the configuration changes in flash memory, so in the event of power loss the changes will be utilized on power up. Changing Main HMI Address A program change/update is required to point the main HMI to the new/correct PLC Address. The address of the main HMI itself must be changed as well to ensure it s on the same network. Setting PLC IP Address reference: Open the Main HMI program in Easybuilder Pro. Click on Edit->System Parameters Click on Local PLC Click on Settings Click Settings Again Change the IP Address from to the NEW Address of the PLC.

9 Save, Compile, and download the new program to the Main HMI. Change the IP Address of the Main HMI on the HMI itself. Login as Admin on the HMI. Enter the Setup menu. Access the HMI Configuration Page. Click on Open Hardware Setting Dialog Login with password (this is the default password if not changed ) Access the IP settings tab and set the Main HMI Address to the NEW IP. Changing Truckfill HMI Address A program change/update is required to point the Truckfill HMI to the new/correct PLC Address. The address of the Truckfill HMI itself must be changed as well to ensure it s on the same network. Open the Truckfill Program in Factory Talk View Studio Under RSlinks Enterprise Double Click on Communications setup Click on Cargill under device Shortcut

10 If the new address is not already on your list, you will need to add the device address. Right click in the Design Local Tab Add new Device Select EthernetIP Devices Select the Model of the PLC and Add Device Enter the NEW IP Address for the PLC

11 Click on the Cargill Device Shortcut, and select the New IP address under the Design (Local) tab. Click Apply Near Device Shortcuts. Click Copy from Design to Runtime. Click Okay. To check if the IP Device Path is set correctly Re-enter the Communications Setup; click on the Cargill Device Shortcut, click on the new IP address/plc in the Design Local tab, and click verify. o Note: the pop-up window will indicate that a path is set for both design and runtime version, and the text below will indicate that the device path is set to the new IP Address when clicking between PLC devices in the Design tab. Save the Program Click Application-> Create Runtime Application. Transfer the new Application to the Truckfill HMI. Change the IP Address of the Truckfill HMI to match the new IP Address: Boot the HMI into Safe mode via the Default Button on the Back of the HMI. Access the Networking Menu of the HMI and change the IP Address from to the NEW ip address. All entries should display as 0 s and not as * s.
