2 1. Updating This procedure can be used to update from Windows 8 to the Windows 8.1 version, maintaining at the same time all data and applications present on the disk. It is nevertheless recommended that you perform a backup of your data before proceeding with the update. 1.1 Updating to Windows 8.1 on Olivetti OLIin1 Make sure that the Olivetti OLIin1 is connected to the Internet. Insert the Windows 8.1 DVD and proceed with the update. Allow Windows to check for any updates on the network (recommended) and If requested, enter the Windows 8.1 Product Key code. In the screen Choose what to keep, select Keep Windows settings, personal files and apps then terminates, you can continue: the system restarts several times, do not switch off the OLIin1 during the update operation. If you are connected to the Internet, the system asks to access an existing Microsoft Live account or,

Clean Installation A clean installation removes the previous Windows 8 operating system as well as all data and applications present on the disk - these must be reinstalled later, if required. It is recommended to perform a backup of the data you want to keep Clean installation of Windows 8.1 on OLIin1, Olibook T14, Olipad W811 and Olibook P75 Connect an external keyboard to the PC if you want to update OLIin1 Insert the Windows 8.1 media (DVD for external optical drive or USB media) and restart the computer. When the Olivetti logo appears press the key F7 repeatedly until a screen appears allowing you to select the Boot drive. Select the drive containing the installation media and press Enter Follow the guided procedure and enter the Windows 8.1 Product Key code when requested. When the window appears Which type of installation do you want? click Custom: install Windows only (advanced options) Be aware that, during the next step, all data on the computer is deleted. Make sure therefore that you have made a backup copy. In the window Where do you want to install Windows delete all the partitions displayed, selecting them one by and one and clicking on Delete. When all partitions have been deleted, select Unallocated space, then New. Click Apply to create new Windows 8 partitions, then click Next. The windows installation procedure proceeds, copying the files. The computer is restarted several times
