FileAct enhancements part of release 7.2 SWIFT confirms that several FileAct enhancements will be part of release 7.2, which is due to go live in June To find out more about the potential impact and overall benefits of these enhancements, please review the SWIFTNet 7.2 Final Release. 2. Alliance Gateway phase-out of File Transfer Adapter and File Transfer Integrated options Please note that SWIFT will phase out the File Transfer Adapter (FTA) and File Transfer Integrated (FTI) licence options for the 2018 annual release of Alliance Gateway. Customers can continue to use FTA and

2 FTI until the end of Support of Release 7.2.For more details, please refer to Knowledge Base tip SWIFTNet Link SWIFT will release SWIFTNet Link in February This release will replace SWIFTNet Link , and will include security updates, SWIFTNet Link hotfix and HSM hotfix The following configurations will be supported in line with the mandatory deadline of 31 March 2017: SWIFTNet Link SWIFTNet Link with SWIFTNet Link Hotfix SWIFTNet Link For more details, please refer to Knowledge Base tip Update to the Release Policy to include security updates SWIFT will publish an updated Release Policy document in January This update will have detailed guidelines and timeline of security updates, in line with the Customer Security Programme (CSP) controls that have been approved by the SWIFT community. 5. Alliance Messaging Hub release The following release is available on the SWIFT download centre: AMH this AMH update contains a number of important corrections for the AMH 3.4 version. Customers planning to upgrade to Alliance Messaging Hub 3.4 from any version prior to are highly recommended to upgrade to Alliance Messaging Hub Customers already running Alliance Messaging Hub should consider upgrading to Alliance Messaging Hub if impacted by the problems resolved in this version. 6. Alliance Lite2 AutoClient mandatory migration Alliance Lite2 AutoClient will be available on the SWIFT download centre in February This release is mandatory and must be installed by end of June This update contains: A new configuration tool that replaces the setpassword.cmd and supports all configurable AutoClient options. Manual editing of the autoclient.properties files is prohibited. Security enhancements. Please note that prior versions of Alliance Lite2 AutoClient will NOT be supported after June Updated availability date for Alliance Remote Gateway 7.2 When using Alliance Remote Gateway to connect to SWIFT, you need to take the following important dates into account for your Alliance Access release 7.2 migration: The availability of Alliance Remote Gateway for test and training operations has been re-scheduled to end October The availability of Alliance Remote Gateway for live operations has been re-scheduled to end November New hardware model to replace HSM tokens and HSM cards & readers with SWIFTNet Link release 7.2 A new token hardware model will be introduced with SWIFTNet Link 7.2, replacing the previous models of both HSM token and HSM card & reader. The models currently supported with SWIFTNet Link 7.0.x releases will not be compatible with SWIFTNet Link 7.2. To facilitate their replacement, each user currently using, for their SWIFT connectivity, HSM tokens or HSM cards with their SWIFTNet Link on releases 7.0.x will be entitled to a pack of 10 tokens of the new model, free-of-charge. Customers entitled to the new HSM tokens pack will be informed through an individual communication, which will provide further details on how to order these tokens.

New hardware model for new orders of Personal tokens and 3SKey tokens Starting in the second quarter of 2017, a new token hardware model will be distributed for new orders of Personal tokens, as well as 3SKey basic and subscriber tokens, whether ordered separately or provided as part of the subscription to a Personal token-based solution. This change is driven by the need to refresh the technology, as periodically required for this type of hardware. The new token will slightly differ in its external aspect, but offer the same technical, security and user functionality as the current model. The new tokens can be used seamlessly and will not require any software or process changes, thereby ensuring a smooth transition. There will be no change for the current tokens which can continue to be used as before. 10. MV-SIPN footprint evolution SWIFT has selected the Juniper SRX345 model for our new network connectivity footprint, because it matches our strict security, operational and performance requirements. The new footprint will be introduced in 2018 for all new orders, followed by a mandatory migration of existing connectivity packs. We are currently working on the migration plan and deployment: we will communicate more details in the coming months. If you have any questions, please contact your local SWIFT customer support centre. 11. Update on release 7.2 The release 7.2 upgrade is starting to take shape. With the general availability date scheduled for end June 2017 and the deadline for migration to be completed by September 2018, we hope that all our customers have completed their budget requests for 2017/2018 and started to define roll-out plans. To help ensure you meet these deadlines, we would recommend that you look into the following items: SWIFTNet Link / Alliance Gateway / Alliance Web Platform Server Embedded has become the minimal baseline for migration (migration to SNL/SAG & AWP is mandatory by end March 2017). Do not forget to update Remote API (RA) or Remote File Handler (RFH) to when you use them. Activate TLS 1.2 (see tips , for RFH tip , and for RA tip ). Once you have deployed , take the opportunity to upgrade your HSM boxes to HSM 6.1. The above will help ensure that your migration to release 7.2 is as smooth as possible. This is a good time to get your environment and staff ready for the new OS levels (AIX 7.2, RHEL 7.2, Solaris 11.3, Windows Server 2016). It is also a good time to get the plans from those third-parties that impact your environment (e.g. ADK components, IPLA components, Browse Services) and additionally the impacts with FileAct enhancements on your FileAct applications. If you have not already done so, please study the Final Release Overview and SWIFTNet Final Release Overview ( includes FileAct enhancements), and draft migration paths that we published on Review license options are not supported with Release 7.2 (i.e. SOAP and WSHA for SAG). Working together towards a smooth migration If not yet done so, please help us track your readiness status for the migration. Copy and answer the questions below and send a brief to CS.Deployment@swift.com. This will help us to plan our follow-up and reminders. - I will start planning for 7.2 by 31 December 2016: Yes / No (please select) - If No, the date that I have in mind is: (please enter date) - I plan to perform this 7.2 migration in: 2017 /2018 / Unknown (please select) 12. Reminder on the retirement of Alliance Workstation Alliance Workstation, the thick client of Alliance Access/Entry will be retired end March This means that we will not provide an updated Alliance Workstation with the 2017 message standards release. If not yet done so, please inform us via Interface.Changes@swift.com of your planned date to cease use of

4 Alliance Workstation. If you have already finalised your migration and are no longer using Workstation, please also let us know, so that we can update our records. Security Next DRI-Cold Start community test scheduled on April 2017 Once per year, in the framework of the Business Continuity Testing program, SWIFT simulates the loss of all its operating centres, and executes a cold start of its FIN and SWIFTNet main messaging services from an empty or zeroed state in its Disaster Recovery Infrastructure (DRI). The next 2017 Cold Start Exercise will take place during the extended Allowed Downtime Window (ADW) of April and will provide the opportunity to participants to test SWIFT's main messaging services, practice reconciliation procedures and validate readiness for such a situation (with counterparties or within a Market Infrastructure organized Community test). Please note that only duly registered participants will be able to connect to the DRI. So, if you would like to participate to the Cold Start Community Test next year, then please contact Support or your Service Manager (if applicable) by the end of January You can find more details on Cold Start in the FIN and SWIFTNet Service Description. Business Intelligence Watch Traffic Analytics, Watch Banking Analytics and Watch Banking Analytics Premium New enhancements Tooltips have been added to all attributes and metrics are available in the Traffic, Banking and Banking Analytics Premium wizards. If you hover over the title of an attribute/metric, you will now see a description for that attribute/metric. The attribute 'CPD' (customer parent destination) has been renamed by 'Group'. Watch Banking Analytics Premium New Ranking reports The new Ranking reports are now available and will enable you to rank your activities per corridor: Ranking per corridor at BIC8 and group level Ranking per corridor per message type at BIC8 and group level Ranking per corridor per currency at BIC8 and group level You can access the reports from the Watch Analytics landing page:

6 Matching - End of service of Accord Accord retirement: end of support 31 October 2017 Termination notices were sent to all customers as a legal affirmation of the end of service for Accord and LTA on 31 October There will be no extended support service or other means to use Accord after this date. Accord GUI 7.5 installation is mandatory If you have not already done so please install Accord GUI 7.5 which includes a security enhancement, and enables you to export business data necessary for migration to the replacement matching solution. Export File Data Integrity Tool on the Download Centre When a task in the Accord GUI is executed to export data you will be requested to enter a passphrase. This Tool requires you to enter the same passphrase to check against the signature of the export file to confirm its integrity. Long Term Archive (LTA) data export At time of Accord end of service an LTA Data Export service will deliver your Accord archive data, including the history of open items in the Accord live database, and a relational database tool. Further information on how to subscribe to LTA Data Export, data migration and the replacement matching providers can be found on the Accord page of the SWIFT website. New Confirmation Copy service Three matching providers are now subscribed to this service that can copy your confirmations to a central matching solution. Use this link to see the current status of the Confirmation Copy service. Partners SWIFT AEO certified We are happy to announce that SWIFT is AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certified since June The AEO certification is a trade facilitation programme aimed at streamlining customs operations and international trade procedures. The AEO certification is recognized in a large number of non-eu countries and a large number of countries have also signed mutual-recognition (ex: CTPAT for US) agreements with the EU. Being AEO-certified will enable SWIFT to improve the existing procedures with the Customs authorities and benefit from their AEO status in various countries. Compliance Name Screening Service

7 On January 2 the new Name Screening service went live. This new Screening Utility service enables fast and accurate screening of entities against public and commercial lists. The launch version of Name Screening supports online screening of individual names against commercial lists and the most commonly used public sanctions lists. Name Screening combines a screening application with automatic list updates, alerts and a robust case management system. It is relevant to a broad audience within institutions, including group compliance, AML, sanctions, trade, procurement, and legal teams. More details on this new service here. Services Premium Suite Update As of 04 March 2017, for security reasons, Salesforce will mandate the use of TLS 1.1 or 1.2 in the browser when connecting to the Case Manager on swift.com. Therefore, please check the TLS version that is active in your browser. When you are still using TLS version 1.0 and when you have a browser version that allows you to activate TLS 1.1 or 1.2, then please do so before 04 March In case your current browser version does not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2, you first have to upgrade your browser version before being able to activate TLS 1.1 or 1.2. Do not forget to check with your IT department to identify potential impacts when upgrading your browser version and/or activating TLS version 1.1 or 1.2. Knowledge Base tip provides more information about supported browser versions for the case manager and swift.com. Attention: SWIFT will also mandate the use of TLS 1.1 or 1.2 to access both the public - and private areas on swift.com. The exact date for this mandate is, as yet, unknown. SWIFT will inform all swift.com users accordingly as soon as more details are available. SWIFTSmart is live! SWIFTSmart was launched to the entire community on 14 November The take-up by SWIFT users has been instantaneous, with an average of 100 new visitors every day and over 4,000 courses completed over the first month! This elearning platform is a unique opportunity for your institution to train more people at low cost; it's time to think how you can deploy the solution globally in your institution. For quick insights into newly added courses you can refer to the SWIFTSmart catalogue which is updated on a monthly basis. Follow these simple steps to access SWIFTSmart at no extra cost: 1. Go to 2. Mitigate operational risks with Health Check

8 Health Checks are an essential part of assessing the operational health of your SWIFT infrastructure. The Health Check aims to identify potential security, configuration and performance risks. After completing the Health Check, SWIFT issues a report with results, including any Best Practice recommendations for improving the way your SWIFT infrastructure is setup. Help customers faster with Remote Support In today's complex environment, you are faced with a growing number of challenges. Remote Support brings you a secure service to troubleshoot and diagnose critical problems efficiently. SWIFT is offering Remote Support as a payable low cost option to the existing support packages. See the factsheet to learn more. Standards Standards Release 2017 The Standards Release Guide (SRG) and Message Format Validation Rules (MFVR) for 2017 were published in the Standards MT section of the UHB Online on 23 December In addition to the changes to the category 0 9 and common group messages, there is an additional change to the headers of MT 103. As of SR 2017, two additional fields may be present in header block 3 of an MT 103, to indicate a service type identifier (field 111) and a Unique End-to-end Transaction Reference (UETR, field 121). Use of these fields has previously been restricted to members of SWIFT's Global Payment Innovation (SWIFT gpi) service. This service allows banks in the SWIFT gpi Closed User Group (CUG) to track payments based on the UETR. SWIFT gpi participants will now be able to include these header fields in all MTs 103 that they send, including to banks that are not in the CUG. This will allow the service to track a payment up to the first bank outside the SWIFT gpi CUG. Banks that are not in the CUG must be able to receive these header fields but will not be allowed to send or forward messages containing fields 111 or 121. New ISO version and release management process applicable as of Standards Release 2018 As part of the ongoing ISO harmonisation framework launched by the MI Summit and SWIFT in 2014, the new ISO version and release management process has been set out this year. Being one of the principles of the ISO Harmonisation Charter, Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) which have endorsed the charter intend to adhere to this process.

9 Approved in September 2016 by the MI Summit, the process is aligned with the existing FIN/MT standards release cycle. Its objective is to enable global Financial Institutions to maintain one message version (i.e. the last version) across multiple FMIs. As such, the process is based on three best practices: 1) the categorisation of Maintenance Change Requests, 2) the upgrade to the latest message version; and 3) the application of the ISO release cycle timeline. The version and release management process will be applied as of Standards Release 2018, starting with the submission of ISO Change Requests by 1 June For more information about the ISO version and release management process read this. In the context of the harmonisation framework, MyStandards has been chosen as the platform for FMIs to inform their participants about their ISO services, their service release information and their ISO usage. Reference Data A new version of Bankers World Online now available SWIFTRef's flagship online lookup directory, Bankers World Online (BWO), has just undergone a significant information architecture and visual redesign. BWO has a revamped user interface, new and improved search fields, and seamless navigation for the user. The enhanced look and feel and new data visualisations will heighten your overall navigation and user experience. Bankers World Online provides a single source for global payments and correspondent banking reference data, as well as financial information on financial institutions and corporates connected or not to SWIFT. You can now more easily find and access credit ratings, shareholder data financial statements entity data to assist with risk and due diligence activities. The previous version of Bankers World Online will coexist with the new version until March 2017, allowing sufficient time for users to familiarise themselves with the dynamic new look and feel of the tool. You can experience the new version of BWO as of today by visiting Events Overview of 2016 events SWIFT held 13 events across EMEA in 2016, bringing together more than 3,000 representatives from the financial industry. SWIFT events provide the opportunity for the SWIFT community to come together, exchange ideas and work on common solutions to shared challenges. Delegates discussed the key trends and challenges that the financial community are facing in the region. Panels focused on the issues of cyber security and how the banking industry can fight cybercrime, the challenge of complying with increased global regulations and the role of FinTech in the future of correspondent banking.
