3 1. Introduction and safety instructions We have tested this software with different PCs and operating systems. Nevertheless we can not guarantee the function for every system. This is a free software: Please understand that we can not offer any support for problems with installation, your PC, the different functions, etc. System requirements: PC with Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / 7, 128MB working memory, about 50MB space on HDD, card reader for microsd cards Read this instruction manual carefully before using this software. Thereby you get to know the different functions and avoid damage to your PC. Please pay attention to the following advice: This software is designed for the use with radio controlled models. It is only allowed to use it for this purpose. Read this instruction manual and the license agreement carefully before installation. By instaling the software you accept the licence agreement. All trademarks and registered trademarks are the property of their respective owners. 2. Installation 1. Start your Windows Explorer. 2. The files are packed to reduce their size and have to be UnZIPed first. 3. Start the installation by double-clicking on the file Setup. 4. Decide in which directory you want to install the software or klick Finish to confirm the suggested one. 5. If you want to install the program in a different directory, klick Change. In the next window you can choose the drive and directory. Then klick OK. Klick OK to finish installation and to close the installation program. 6. The software is now ready to use. Use the Start button of your windows to start the software. 3

4 3. Control elements und operation Using the PC-GigaLogger Software telemetry data, that has been logged by the GigaLogger MSB, can displayed and evaluated on your PC. This is a great advantage especially when you are not so familiar with spreadsheets. The GigaLogger Software allows evaluation and analysis of logged data. After starting the program the following window appears: The surface of the PC-GigaLogger Software has a clear structure and is almost self-explanatory. Nevertheless the following explanations and background information can be very helpful selection of language The language of the control elements and displays can be selected in the lower left corner by clicking the specific flag (German or English). 4

5 3.2. Load GigaLogger MSB file (F5) Using this button a GigaLogger MSB file is loaded from a memory card or a directory on the PC. The file name must start with L1, L2 or L3 and must have the ending.csv. Files that start with L4 (Info-Terminal data) can not be loaded. Please note: Files created by the GigaLogger MSB do not have a timestamp. The files are serially numbered so that the order of the files can be seen Save GigaLogger MSB file (F4) Using this button a GigaLogger MSB file can be saved in any directory (e.g. hard disk). The filename can also be changed, for example by adding the model name, date, etc. Please note: The filename must still start with L1, L2 or L3 and the ending.csv must be kept. Otherwise the files can not be loaded by the PC-GigaLogger Software. 5

6 3.4. filename This field displays the filename and directors of the file that is currently loaded read-in data sets This field shows the number of data-sets that are read in. While a file is loaded the number increases. For large files (long logging time with high logging rate) the loading may take some time. Files with up to datasets can be read in button for value selection Left and right of the Load and Save buttons there are two fiels for selcting the values for graphical display. By clicking one of the buttons a selct field appears and a value can be selected by clicking: Two values can be displayed at a time. The value selected on the left is displayed as a red curve, the one selected on the right as a blue curve data at time In the left column of the window all telemetry values at a specific time are shown. Furthermore their unit is shown and if there has been an alarm at that time. The start of a new logging is always at time 00:00:00.0 (hh.mm.ss). With the six arrows at the top all times of the logging file can be selected: short arrow = 1 time-step forwards/backwards, medium arrow = 10 time-steps forwards/backwards, long arrow = 100 time-steps forwards/backwards. How long the timely distance between two time-steps is, depends on the logging rate (e.g. at 2Hz one time-step stands for 0.5 seconds). The arrows to select the time can also be used by the PC s keyboard: Short arrow left/right = arrow key left/right = 1 time-step forwards/backwards Mittlerer Pfeil links/rechts = Shift + Pfeiltaste links/rechts = 10 time-steps forwards/backwards Langer Pfeil links/rechts = Strg + Pfeiltaste links/rechts = 100 time-steps forwards/backwards 6

7 The selected time is also displayed as a cursor (cross) in the graphic display. Thereby times of special interest can quickly be selected to read out the telemetry data: data at time 2min 19,8sec The time can also be selected by moving the cursor (crosses) with the mouse. This is especially helpful for longer distances Quit (Esc) By clicking the Quit (Esc) button the software is closed. 7

8 4. Licence agreement on PC-GigaLogger Software Advice for the user: Read the following contract carefully. With the installation of the software you accept the terms and conditions of this contract. When you can not accept the terms and conditions of this contract, do NOT install this software and delete all related files from your system. 1. Granting of a licence. Simprop electronic gives you the non-exclusive and not negotiable right to install this software on a PC. This license requires your agreement with all terms and conditions of the license agreement. You oblige yourself to use this software only according to this license. 2. Cancellation. This license agreement is valid until it is cancelled. You can cancel it at any time by deleting the software and all it s copies from your system.furthermore Simprop electronic can cancel the agreement when any of the terms or conditions are violated. A cancellation obliges you to delete the software and all its copies. 3. Copyright. This software is protected by law of the Federal Republic of Germany and by international law. You accept that you do not get the intellectual property of this software. Further you accept that Simprop electronic holds all rights and unrestricted property of this software. These Copyrights are also applied to all copies of this software. 4. Changes to the software. You oblige yourself that you are not trying to decompile, modify, transfer or disassemble this software or parts of it. 5. No further warranty. Simprop electronic does not guarantee that this software works without failure. Simprop electronic rejects to give any warranty on this software. 6. Separation. If one of the terms and conditions in this agreement is invalid, it has no influence on the validity of the other terms and conditions. 7. No warranty for subsequent damages. Simprop electronic and it s suppliers are not liable to pay compensation for any subsequent damages, especially indirect or accidental damages that result from the use of this software, even if Simprop electronic was informed that such a damage could occur. In any case the warranty is limited to the amount you payed for the license, no matter if these claims result from contract law, claims for damages or other claims. 8. Applicable law. This license agreement is solely based on the law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the judgements of German courts. 9. Complete agreement. This is a complete agreement between you and Simprop electronic. All older agreements (written or verbal) regarding the same matter are invalid. 8
