5 1 INTRODUCTION These instructions describe the installation of the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box and the use of the accompanying Bellfi res Gas app for the Bellfi res appliances. The Bellfi res Gas app is suitable for use on a smartphone or tablet and can be downloaded free via the Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple). The Bellfi res Gas app extends the fi re s possibilities. It is possible to set personal preferences per user. It is also possible to carry out fault diagnostics remotely. Once the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box has been installed, it is still possible to operate the fi re using the remote control supplied. For remote control operation, consult the manual & Daily Maintenance. 2 INSTALLATION OF THE BELLFIRES WI-FI BOX IMPORTANT The installation must only be carried out by a Gas Safe Register registered installation engineer. 5

6 2.1 COMPONENTS The operating components comprise the following parts. Bellfi res Wi-Fi box Article number: Receiver (can be recognised by the blue sticker). The receiver with Wi-Fi functionality can be recognised by the blue sticker. 7 Hand-held transmitter Article number: This must be provided with a blue sticker. If the remote control is provided with a green or silver-coloured sticker, it is not suitable for use in combination with the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box. In that case, contact your dealer. 7

10 Receiver: Receiver connection USB: Not in use 2.4 INSTALLATION BELLFIRES WI-FI BOX If the fi re is not fi tted with Wi-Fi control, then the existing receiver can be replaced by a receiver with Wi-Fi functionality using the instructions below. The installation of the Wi-Fi box is also described. In this case the hand transmitter must also be exchanged for a model that is suitable for communication with the new receiver. Disconnect the connected receiver (which can be recognised by the green sticker, receivers before October 2015 are provided with a silver sticker) and connect the disconnected cables to the new receiver (with blue sticker). Connect the receiver with the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box using the cable supplied. Connect this cable to the input SI on the receiver and the input Receiver on the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box. Connect the 6 VDC mains adapter to the receiver. As soon as the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box is connected, the LED lights will light up. 10

The end of the sensor must be placed outside the immediate radiation area of the fi re. Note: If the external temperature sensor is not connected, then the room temperature will be read by the hand transmitter. The Bellfi res Wi-Fi box can now be set using the Bellfi res Gas app. The fi re can then be operated using the Bellfi res Gas app. The fi re can also be operated with the hand transmitter supplied with the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box (can be recognised by the blue sticker). Once the Wi-Fi box is installed, it is no longer possible to operate the fi re using the old hand transmitter. 11

13 3 SETTING UP THE BELLFIRES GAS APP The Bellfi res Gas app is available for Apple and Android tablets and smartphones. Minimum requirements for tablet/smartphone - ios 8.0 or Android 4.4 Search in the Google Play Store or in the Apple App Store on Bellfi res gas. The Bellfi res Gas app can be downloaded for free. Once the Bellfi res Gas app has been downloaded, it can be installed straight away. To set your Bellfi res Gas app, you need the name (SSID) and password of your Wi-Fi router. System requirements for Wi-Fi router: Compatible with IEEE n/g/b WPA2 encryption Radio frequency: 2,4 GHz band Wireless auto channel; automatic search for Wi-Fi radio channel, free of interference Supports User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Attention: If the Wi-Fi router is part of a corporate network, or if the router is suitable to be included in a corporate network, the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and/or broadcasting needs to be enabled in the router settings. If the UDP protocol and/or broadcasting are not enabled, the router is not visible to the Wi-Fi box and they cannot be linked together. To change the router settings, refer to the corresponding manual or contact the manufacturer of the router. After connecting the Wi-Fi box to the home network, the initial router settings can be restored, if desired. The connection between the Wi-Fi box and the home network will remain. NB: In routers for home use, the UDP protocol is generally always enabled. 3.1 INSTALLATION The shown screenshots are from an Apple ipad. The screen visual on a smartphone or Android tablet may differ from these shown screenshots. 13

Several people may be registered. Registration makes it possible to create a user account, with your personal settings. REGISTRATION You must register before logging in. If you have already registered go directly to login. Registration is one time only. Register LOGIN If you do not have an an account yet, you must register fi rst. Once the registration is successfully completed, you will receive an to confi rm your account details. As soon as you receive the confi rmation, you can log in on the Bellfi res Gas app. 15

LOGIN Password: To log in you must accept the Terms and Conditions Register Return to the Bellfi res Gas app Fill in the login details and agree with the conditions Then press Login Forgot password Back Login 3.3 CONNECT THE TABLET OR SMARTPHONE TO THE BELLFIRES WI-FI BOX The Bellfi res Wi-Fi box which is installed in the fi re (see chapter 2) creates its own network. To operate the fi re using the Bellfi res Gas app, the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box s network must connect to your own home network (wifi router). Before starting the connection procedure, check: The home network availability The home network name and password That the SSID of the router is not hidden from the Wi-Fi box That the home network signal is within range of the Wi-Fi box That the Wi-Fi router supports User Datagram Protocol (UDP) A total of 8 fi res can be linked. Log into the Bellfi res Gas app Current Wi-Fi Boxes connected: Connect new WiFi-Box Select add Wi-Fi box ; to do this press the sign Start APP 16

Other... Ask to Join Networks Known networks will be joined automatically. If no known networks are available, you will have to manually select a network. Select the network myfi re_wifi-box_<number> It may take a few minutes before the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box is displayed. The password for the Bellfi res Wi-Fi network is: MYFIREPLACE Battery Privacy Important: If the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box is still not displayed after a few minutes, the Wi-Fi box must be reset by pressing the reset button for 20 seconds (see page 9). The Bellfi res Wi-Fi box will automatically restart after this. As soon as it is displayed on the screen, the installation can be continued. Users of IPhone or IPad with ios 10.0 or higher: After selection of the network myfi re_wifi-box a message appears No internet connection. This message can be ignored. Continue with the instructions below after selection of the network myfi re_wifi-box. 17

18 Connect Wi-Fi Box To Your Wi-Fi Router Name Your Fire: House Wi-Fi Name (SSID): House Wi-Fi Password: Back Connect Return to the Bellfi res Gas app and connect the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box to your own network. To do this, complete the following details º Name of the fi re (free to choose) º Name of the home network (SSID) º Home network s password º Select Connect Connect your Smart Device to your Wi-Fi Router Select OK Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone or tablet and connect to your home network. Then return to the Bellfi res Gas app Back OK It may take a few minutes before the connection has been established with your smartphone or tablet. Connecting Attention: Connection is only possible if the so-called UDP protocol of the Wi-Fi router is enabled. Where applicable, please check with the provider of the Wi-Fi router. (see also section 3 of these instructions) 18

19 3.4 FIREPLACE SETTINGS Once the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box of the appliance has been connected to your home network, the fi re s specifi cations can be entered into the Bellfi res Gas app. CONFIRM FIREPLACE SETTINGS Firename Fireplace name: Icon Fan Please select options your fi re is equipped with. The Bellfi res Gas app is ready for use. 3.5 CONNECTING EXTRA MOBILE DEVICES Once you have connected a mobile device to the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box for the fi rst time, you can connect other mobile devices. Download the Bellfi res Gas app from the App Store or Google Play on the mobile device that you want to connect Start the Bellfi res Gas app Log in to the Bellfi res Gas app (see page 15). The Bellfi res Gas app will display the connected Wi-Fi boxes. Then, click on Start app. Now you can operate the fi re from the mobile device. Note: Make sure that the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Bellfi res Wi-Fi box during the initial installation procedure. 20

21 4 OPERATING THE FIRE WITH THE BELLFIRES GAS-APP 4.1 START SCREEN: On/Off button Outside temperature Quick menu yellow = function is activated grey = function is deactivated Room temperature Access to menu An activated function is represented by a yellow icon in the right hand menu. The symbols displayed may differ per profi le set. The main menu folds open by pressing. 21

22 4.2 EXPLANATION OF THE SYMBOLS On /Off Switches the fi re on or off. After turning off the fi re, it will take approx. 30 seconds before the fi re can \ be turned on again. Outside temperature The temperature is displayed here as soon as the Bellfi res Gas app is connected with the home network. Power Switching the functions on or off. Profi les A maximum of 4 different personal operating profi les can beset. Manual operation Manual adjustment of the fl ame height. The thermostat function is switched off. Thermostat The fl ame height is adjusted based on the measured room temperature and the required set room temperature. Timer The time interval after which the fi re will be switched off can be set using the timer. Program mode Up to 8 different settings for the time and temperature can be set in the programme mode. 22

23 ECOwave The fl ame height varies automatically by one of the 3 available fl ame effect programs. The duration of a fl ame effect program can also be set. Fan system (optional) If the fi re is fi tted with a convection fan, then it will set the fan system s speed. Lighting (optional) If the fi re is fi tted with lighting, this will switch the lights on or off or dim them. AUX Switch between single burner and double burner. Child lock Activating the child lock switches off all operating functions, with the exception of the OFF button. Settings General fi re settings. Help Access to help pages for the various app functions. If the screen is not touched for half a minute in one of the functions, the app will automatically switch to the start screen. The selected function (e.g. timer, light or ECOwave) will remain active in the background, as long as it is not switched off by the user. 23

24 4.3 MENU FUNCTIONS Profiles A total of 4 operating profi les can be saved. Select one of the four profi les. Once a profi le has been selected, the profi les symbol and the activated profi le number will appear at top left. 24

26 Manual operation Adjust the fl ame height by moving your fi nger over the coloured circle. At the leftmost position (lowest fl ame) or rightmost position (highest fl ame), the relevant fl ame icon at the bottom of the display will also light up. With the 3 buttons at the bottom, a low fl ame, pilot light setting or high fl ame respectively can be chosen directly. Then LO, STANDBY (= pilot light) or HI will then fl ash in the circle. The displayed temperature is the measured room temperature. 26

27 Thermostat Change the set temperature by moving your fi nger over the coloured circle, or by touching one of the coloured segments. The displayed temperature is the measured room temperature. After activation of the thermostat function, the thermostat symbol and APP will appear in the remote control window. 27

28 Timer The time interval after which the fi re will switch itself off can be set using the timer. The maximum time that can be set is 09:59 hours. Start the timer by pressing the power button at the bottom of the timer. Pressing the power button again will stop the timer. 28

29 Program mode A maximum of 8 timing programs can be set. The day, time and temperature can be set by pressing the program s number. 29

30 Program mode The start time and the temperature respectively can be set using the green segments. ON time CLEAR ON temperature CLEAR The days of the week can be set using the grey segment. 30

31 Program mode Active days CLEAR The end time and the temperature respectively can be set using the red segments, once this time has been reached. Instead of the temperature, the standby position can also be selected. This will switch off the main burner, but the pilot light will keep burning. 31

33 Program mode Mo 06: º 08:00 STANDBY In the selection screen, a program can be activated or deactivated by clicking on the power button to the left of the program. After activation of the program mode function, the program mode symbol and APP will appear in the remote control window. Important: Check whether the time as set in the Bellfi res Gas app matches with the system time of the mobile device you are using for the Bellfi res Gas app. To do this, go to the Settings menu and choose at Fireplace settings the name of the gas appliance. Then you can check the set time at Time settings. If the time is not set correctly, synchronize it with the system time by pressing the symbol. 33

34 ECOwave A selection can be made between three dynamic fl ame heights, whcih can be repeated every 15, 20 or 25 minutes as desired. Select the fl ame height with the fl ame icons and adjust the time interval with the left button. The potential gas saving is visible on the left. 34

35 ECOwave The thermostat can be activated by pressing the C button. The temperature will then be controlled by the temperature set with the thermostat function. The thermostat only works in combination with the right-hand fl ame pattern gradient. After activation of the ECOwave function, the ECOwave symbol and APP will appear in the remote control window. 35

36 Fan system (optional) Set the fan system to the required continuously adjustable setting from position 1 (slow) to position 4 (fast). Start and stop the fan system with the power button at the bottom of the screen. The fan always starts in position 4. After a few seconds, the fan will switch to the last position set before the fi re was turned off. After turning the fi re off, the fan will run for another 10 minutes. 36

37 Lighting (optional) Set the light intensity by moving over the lamp from top to bottom or the reverse. The lamp can be switched on or off with the power button at bottom right. AUX (double burner) Only for fi res fi tted with a double burner (Centre Fire burner, Line Fire burner or a Premium Fire burner). Switch between a single burner and a double burner by clicking the ++ symbol. If both burners are active, the ++ symbol in the right hand menu will turn yellow. 37

38 Child safety If the child safety is activated, then it is only possible to switch the fi re off with the on/off button. All other functions are unavailable. Activate the child safety by pressing the child symbol in the menu for a few seconds. Once the safety mechanism is activated, the following screen will appear. 38

39 Child safety Remove the child safety by fi rst keeping the child safety symbol in the left hand menu pressed and after 2 seconds simultaneously pressing a few seconds the child safety symbol at the temperature indicator. 39
