1 Subject: Creating an RDP Shortcut TheraManager Help Note When setting up a new workstation to access TheraManager in the cloud, the easiest means is to copy the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) shortcut from the Desktop of an existing cloudenabled workstation to the Desktop of the new workstation. If copying is not feasible OR if the shortcut does not work You can create the RDP shortcut. This Help Note describes how. This Help Note is divided into two parts: Creating the RDP Shortcut for a Windows Computer starts on page 3. Creating the RDP Shortcut for a Mac begins immediately below. Creating the RDP Shortcut for a Mac 1. From either the App Store or itunes, install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client: 2. 3 Creating the RDP Shortcut for a Windows Computer [As of April 9, 2014, following discontinuation of support from Microsoft of Windows XP, you can no longer access TheraManager in the cloud from any Windows XP workstation.] 1. Either: Windows 10: At the Start menu, towards the top right: a. b. Enter c. Under Best match, click OR Windows 7: From the Windows Start menu: a. Select Remote Desktop Connection* b. Right-click Pin to Taskbar. The shortcut is added to your local Windows taskbar [See Note 1] [See Note 2] 2. *For older computers, Remote Desktop Connection might not be found. If you still cannot connect after entering cloudn.theramanager.com as the computer name AND you have entered your corresponding password You may need to clear ( flush ) your DNS cache. Refer to for background. 6. Secure and effective management of your passwords (not just regarding TheraManager!) is a critical aspect of your practice s compliance with HIPAA.
