1 PEOPLENET USAGE INSTRUCTIONS Follow these steps exactly to self-dispatch properly using the mobile communication technology. These instructions are for the PeopleNet unit displayed below. SCREEN NAVIGATION To move the cursor from data entry field to data entry field, press the up and down arrows on the right side of the unit. The buttons on the bottom of the screen are associated with the word above it on the screen. The Record button is used if an event happens that needs detailed information recorded from the truck; i.e., an accident. The Menu button will take you to a drop down list, where you will select your trip to be updated. The logon in the menu drop down is for the electronic logs; you must receive training prior to using this function. The Send button will take you to a drop down list where you will logon to the system at Falcon and be able to send text messages and predefined messages. STEP 1 LOGGING ON TO THE SYSTEM When you enter the vehicle you must logon to the system immediately. 1. Press the button under SEND. You will see a screen that reads Do not use while vehicle is in motion. 2. Press the button under PROCEED.

2 3. Use the down arrow key on the right to move the arrow on the screen to 000 Driver Logon. 4. Press the button under SELECT. 5. Type your Falcon Dispatch Driver ID (your driver manager can get this for you). 6. Press the button under DONE. 7. Press the button under SEND to send the message. STEP 2 LOAD ASSIGNMENT When you receive a load assignment or any message you will see the following screen. 1. Press any of the buttons on the bottom of the unit to see the message.

3 2. Press SELECT to read each line of your load assignment. You should receive the load assignment, the stop detail and the fuel and routing solution. If an assignment is canceled it will appear the same way. 3. Press SAVE to store the load info in the Mail folder. STEP 3 ENTERING TRIP INFORMATION AND STARTING YOUR TRIP 1. Press MENU on the main screen. 2. Use the down arrow to choose TRIPS 3. Press SELECT the loads you have available will appear.

4 4. Select the load you are starting. 5. Press START to begin your trip. STEP 4 ARRIVING AT THE SHIPPER 1. Press MENU 2. Select TRIPS from the menu list (use arrow keys) 3. Select the correct load 4. Press VIEW to view load information

5 5. Select the appropriate stop 6. Press ARRIVE this will record your arrival time 7. Press READ when your message comes in

6 8. Press SELECT 9. When the Pickup Info message appears, press REPLY. 10. Fill in BOL, weight, seal number and any other appropriate fields. NEXT will move you to the next field to fill in; SKIP will allow you to go to the next field if the current item is optional.

7 A. Press SEND when you have entered all required information STEP 5 DEPARTING THE SHIPPER 1. Press MENU

8 2. Select TRIPS from the list 3. Select the correct load 4. Press VIEW 5. Select the appropriate stop

9 6. Press DEPART this will record your departure time STEP 6 ARRIVING AT THE DELIVERY STOP Press MENU Select TRIPS from the list Select the correct load Press VIEW Select the appropriate stop. Completed stops will not appear on this screen.

10 Press ARRIVE this will record your arrival time Press READ when your message comes in Press SELECT When the Delivery Info message appears, press REPLY

11 Fill in BOL, weight, seal number and any other appropriate fields. NEXT will move you to the next field to fill in; SKIP will allow you to go to the next field if the current item is optional. Scroll down to choose your FUEL LEVEL, recorded in 1/8 amounts Press DONE When all fields are updated properly, press SEND If you have another load scheduled, you will receive that information at this time. If you do not have a load assigned, the message will tell you to contact dispatch. STEP 7 UNLOADED AT DELIVERY Press MENU

12 Select TRIPS from the list Select the correct load Press VIEW Press DEPART This will record your departure time PEOPLENET EQUIPMENT Please use proper care with your PeopleNet unit. Improper care, cutting of cables or disconnecting wires, damaging the unit or any part of its parts and/or accessories is considered EQUIPMENT ABUSE and will be handled accordingly, up to and including YOU paying for the damages, corrective disciplinary action and/or termination. See page 35 for further information.
