4 Section 1 Introduction Delphi Workstation Setup This manual explains how to run Workstation Setup for version of the following Newmarket International products: Delphi Select Edition Delphi Single-Property Edition Delphi Multi-Property Edition Delphi Global Sales Edition If you have any problems running Workstation Setup, contact Newmarket International Support at Installation Requirements Before starting Workstation Setup, you need to perform the following tasks: You must have local administrator rights to the client workstation. Confirm that Internet Explorer 7.0 or later is installed on the workstation. Confirm that you have the appropriate rights to the Delphi shared folder on the application server, and that you have a drive mapped to the shared folder (N: drive is recommended). Confirm that the workstation s monitor resolution is set to 1024 x 768 or higher. Close all Windows programs on the workstation before starting the Setup program. If you are using the merge function, Microsoft Word 2003 or 2007 and Excel 2003 or 2007 must be installed on the workstation. On each client workstation, confirm that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set for all Windows programs and services (see page 6). Installation Checklists Complete one of the following procedures, as appropriate for your installation scenario. Note: For each client workstation that will be running Delphi as a new installation or upgrade, confirm that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set for all Windows programs and services (see page 6). New Installation of Run Workstation Setup on the new workstation (see page 6). Upgrading from Version 9.x or Later Upgrading on the Same Server If you are upgrading on the same server, you need to remap the appropriate drive from the NGS share to the new Delphi share on the server. Workstation Setup will then start automatically the first time Delphi is opened. See Updating a Delphi Workstation on page New Hampshire Avenue, Portsmouth, NH USA phone: fax:

5 Upgrading on a New Server If you are upgrading on a new server, you must manually run Workstation Setup (see page 6). Upgrading from Version 7.x You must uninstall the Delphi 7.x software and delete the user DSN on all workstations that are being upgraded. 1. Click the Start button and click Run. 2. In the Open box, enter odbcad32 and click OK. The ODBC Data Source Administrator window opens. 3. In the User DSN folder, select NSS-MSSQL. 4. Click Remove. 5. Click Yes to confirm you want to remove the NSS-MSSQL data source. 6. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator. 7. Run Workstation Setup on the workstation (see page 6). Section 2 Workstation Setup Procedures Updating a Delphi Workstation 1. At the workstation, double-click the Newmarket product icon. 6 The Workstation Setup update proceeds and the following message box opens: 3. Click Yes. Running Workstation Setup This procedure explains how to run Workstation Setup to perform a new installation of Delphi on a client workstation. The workstation must be running Windows XP, 2003, 2008, Vista, or 7. The Workstation Setup program also lets you enable functionality, DelphiSync, and Market Vision. To enable , you must have already configured SMTP on the server. This procedure assumes that the application server is configured to run Delphi and that the workstation installation requirements outlined on page 4 have been met. 1. Map a network drive from the workstation to the Delphi folder on the application server. Note: Newmarket suggests that you select the N: drive. 2. In the Setup\Delphi Workstation Setup folder, double-click Setup.exe. Note: If Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 is not installed on your workstation, a message box indicates that version 3.5 is about to be installed. Once the.net Framework installation has completed, you will be prompted to restart Workstation Setup. 3. In the Welcome window, click Next. 4. In the Software License Agreement window, click Next. 5. In the Supporting Applications window, select the desired peripherals and click Next. 6. In the Select Program Folder window, select a different program folder, if necessary, and click Next. 7. In the Create Shortcuts window, accept the default shortcut locations and click Next. 8. In the Start Configuring Delphi Workstation window, confirm the current settings and click Next. 9. When the installation is complete, click Close. 10. In the InstallShield Wizard Complete window, click Finish. 11. If you installed DelphiSync during the setup, you must configure Microsoft Outlook for DelphiSync. See Appendix A and follow the steps in Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync on page If necessary, restart the workstation. 13. If you are also installing Diagrams, you must configure the workstation for Diagrams. See the Diagrams Workstation Setup Guide for information on installing and upgrading the Diagrams client. Setting Data Execution Prevention All installations and upgrades require you to set the workstation s Data Execution Prevention (DEP) option to Turn On DEP for Essential Windows Programs and Services Only. 1. 7 3. In the Performance area, click Settings. The Performance Options window opens. 4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab. 5. Select the Turn On DEP for Essential Windows Programs and Services Only option. 6. Click OK to close the Performance Options window. 7. Click OK to close the System Properties window. 8. Restart the computer. Appendix A DelphiSync Installation and Configuration If DelphiSync was not installed when Workstation Setup was run on the workstation, you can install and configure DelphiSync at a later time. Installation Requirements Before installing DelphiSync, the following requirements must be met: You must have local administrator rights to the client system. Install the Outlook 2003 or 2007 client on the workstation. Ensure that Outlook is closed and not running prior to installing DelphiSync. Installing DelphiSync 1. Verify that you have exited Outlook and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 2. Browse to the Delphi share (typically mapped to the N: drive). 3. In the OutlookIntegrationSetup\Workstation folder, double-click the DelphiSync.msi file. The About to Install DelphiSync window opens. 4. Click Next. 8 6. If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button and select the appropriate folder. 7. Select who is to have access to DelphiSync on this computer: Everyone or Just Me. Note: If you are not logged in as the typical user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window opens. 8. Click Next. 9. In the Installation Complete window, click Close. Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync 1. Open Outlook. 2. Click the DelphiSync button on the Outlook toolbar. The Delphi Login window opens. Note: Before you can log in to DelphiSync, a Delphi user with Administrator- or Director-level access rights must enable your login. If you are a view-only user in Delphi, you cannot complete the login to DelphiSync. 3. In the Web Service URL box, enter the URL where the Web service is installed. Use the following syntax: Address>/DelphiSync where: <IP Address> is the name or IP address of the Web server where the service is installed (typically the Delphi database server). 4. Click OK. 9 You can customize the Delphi Workstation Setup program by forcing the selection of some options and suppressing some of the program windows. The values you can modify are found in the install.ini file in the Delphi Workstation Setup folder. Section Entry Description [SkipScreens] UpgradeMessage When Delphi Workstation Setup is run on a workstation where it has already been run before, a message is displayed informing the user that Delphi will be upgraded or updated. The user can click Yes to continue or No to cancel. This entry controls the display of the confirmation message. Enter 1 to suppress the message. Omit the value to display the message. Summary License DelphiSyncInstructions Finish This entry controls the display of the Summary window, which allows the user to review selections just before the configuration process begins. Enter 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. This entry controls the display of the License window, which is displayed at the beginning of the setup process. Enter 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. By suppressing the window, you are accepting the license agreement on behalf of all users installing the Delphi client application in your environment. When DelphiSync is selected to be installed on the workstation, a window is displayed instructing the user to close Microsoft Outlook and disconnect mobile devices that sync with Outlook before proceeding. This entry controls the display of this window. Enter 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. This entry controls the display of the Finish window, which indicates that the configuration process is complete. Enter 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. [Shortcuts] Desktop This entry controls the option given to users to create a Delphi shortcut on the workstation desktop. Enter 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a desktop icon. Enter 0 to hide the option and NOT create a desktop icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. QuickLaunch This entry controls the option given to users to create a Delphi shortcut on the workstation QuickLaunch bar. Enter 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a QuickLaunch icon. Enter 0 to hide the option and NOT create a QuickLaunch icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. Note: Specifying values for both the Desktop and QuickLaunch entries will suppress the Create Shortcuts window. AppFolderName This entry controls the name of the Start menu program folder where the Delphi shortcut is created on the workstation. The default name for the program folder is Newmarket International. If a value is specified for this entry, the value will be used to create the program folder, and the Select Program Folder window will be suppressed. [ThirdPartyApps] DelphiSync This entry controls the option given to users to configure DelphiSync client components on the workstation. Enter 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of DelphiSync on the workstation. Enter 0 to hide the option and NOT configure DelphiSync on the workstation. Omit the value to display the option to the user. MarketVision This entry controls the option given to users to configure Market Vision client components on the workstation. Enter 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of Market Vision on the workstation. Enter 0 to hide the option and NOT configure Market Vision on the workstation.
