1 Name of Solution: Mapping : Salesforce ACCOUNT using Web Services Business Requirement: Create an account in Salesforce using the Web Services consumer functionality Description: SalesForce provides a SOAP API to perform most of the user operations. SalesForce publishes the WSDL that can be used by PowerCenter Web Services consumer. In this example we create new account objects. The mapping uses 1. Web Services consumer transformation to call the SalesForce login operation. 2. The SessionId & server URL from the login operation along with the account data from a file are sent as an input to the consumer target to create the account objects in SalesForce. Required file contents: 1. Source File 2. Salesforce Enterprise WSDL Pre-Requisites: To Create a Salesforce developer account in Force.com: Click the below link to create a new salesforce.com development org To Reset your security token: A security token is an automatically generated key that you must add to the end of your password in order to log in to Salesforce via the API. For example, if your password is mypassword, and your security token isxxxxxxxxxx, then you must enter mypasswordxxxxxxxxxx to log in. To reset your security token, click Your Name Setup My Personal Information Reset Security Token, and click the Reset My Security Token button. The new security token is sent via to the address on yoursalesforce user record.

2 To generate the WSDL file for your organization: From your Salesforce.com home page click Your Name Setup App Setup Develop API to display the WSDL download page.

3 Steps to create a Webservice Consumer Transformation for the Salesforce login operation: 1. Create the Web Services Consumer transformation. Browse and choose the enterprise.wsdl file in the local file tab as shown below. 2. Import the login operation from the WSDL. 3. Choose the Hierarchy Relationships option and check the Create URL port box as shown below. 4. Link thesalesforce.com end-point URL to this port using an Expression transformation.

4 5. Edit the Transformation Properties, click on the Web Services Consumer Properties tab and include open & Close double quotes ( ) in the Soap Action textbox as shown below. 6. Right click on the Web Services Consumer Transformation s header and click WSDL Workspace and then on Output Mode. 7. Right click the tns:sessionid column and then click Navigate to and Schema Component as shown below.

5 8. Click on the tns:sessionid element and increase the length from 100 to 500. Steps to create the Web Services consumer target for the Salesforce Create Operation: 1. Go to the Target Designer tab in your designer. Click the Targets tab and click the Import from WSDL (Consumer) as shown below.

6 2. Import the create WSDL as shown below. 3. Choose the Hierarchy Relationships option and check the Create URL port box as shown below. 4. Right click on the consumer target header and click WSDL Workspace as shown below.

7 5. In the WSDL workspace, keep the views Envelope and sobjects and delete the rest. Similarly, in the Envelope view, keep the sessionid and URL port and delete the rest as shown below. 6. Right click the tns:sessionid column and then click Navigate to and Schema Component. Then click on the tns:sessionid element in the Envelope View and increase the length from 100 to In the sobjects view, right click the tns:sobjects, go to Navigate to and click XPath Navigator as shown below.

8 8. The XPath Navigator window appears on the left hand side. Click the tns:sobjects (under the hierarchy n3:envelope, n3:body, tns:create) and choose the ens:account from the drop down list as shown below. 9. Drag and drop the columns you are interested into the sobjects view. Of which Name (AccountName) is a required column in Salesforce Account object. Click save and close the workspace window.

9 10. Edit the Transformation Properties, click on the Web Services Consumer Properties tab and include open & Close double quotes ( ) in the Soap Action textbox as shown below. Steps to create the mapping: 1. Create a new mapping m_ws_create_sfdc_account. 2. Create a source definition for the source file provided. 3. Create an expression transformation to provide your SFDC username, password and URL (example: ' as input to the Webservice Consumer Transformation as shown below.

10 4. Bring the Webservice Consumer Target created into the mapping m_ws_create_sfdc_account and connect the column. Since Name is a required field in Salesforce Account object, make sure it is connected. 5. Create a Sequence Generator and connect the CURRVAL port to the xpk_n3_envelope and FK_n3_Envelope as shown below. Note: NEXTVAL will generate unique sequence numbers for each view in the WS Consumer Tx and thus, CURRVAL is used here. 6. Save the mapping and validate it. 7. Create a session for the mapping and run it on verbose data mode. 8. After the session run succeeds verify if the SOAP Response from both the login and create operation is success.
