2 SGT Innovation Technology Center Create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Machine Image (AMI) Instance Create/log in to your AWS account Navigate to the EC2 console Create AMI instance (installation directions use Windows Server AMI) This example uses an Ubuntu AMI Chef will work best in a UNIX environment Create Key Pair Save.pem file to a secure place on local machine Create Security Group and add the following inbound ports: RDP (3389) HTTP (80) SSH (22) Launch the new instance and connect / log in with password/private Key Pair file 1

3 Download and install PuTTY: Open PuTTygen Click Load and browse All Files (*.*) to locate AWS.pem file Convert.pem Key file to native PuTTY.ppk format 2

4 Open PuTTY Enter the AMI instance IP address in the Host Name field In Category panel on left, under Connection, find and expand SSH Click on Auth Click Browse to select the.ppk key file Click Open to access AMI instance 3

5 login as: ubuntu 4

6 Execute the following commands: rm rf chef repo chef solo mkdir chef repo curl O digest u sgtinc:y6emg8tm repo/get/head.tar.gz && tar zxvf HEAD.tar.gz C chef repo strip components 1 curl L O digest u sgtinc:y6emg8tm && tar zxvf cookbooks.tar.gz C chef repo command v chef solo >/dev/null curl L sudo bash sudo apt get update cd chef repo sudo chef solo c solo.rb j web.json 5

7 Configure JIRA and Stash Open the IP address of the AMI instance in browser on local machine Opens Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page Go to < IP address >/jira User may encounter an error page Restart JIRA in PuTTY Ubuntu command line: Ctrl refresh JIRA configuration page 6

8 Begin configuring JIRA: Application Title: Whatever you want Mode: Depends on what your needs are Base URL: name>/jira Click Next 7

9 Enter/Generate a license key Enter details for the administrator account Configure an outgoing mail server if desired Click on the gear in the top right corner and select User Management 8

10 Click JIRA User Server Click Add application Application name: Jenkins Password: password NOTE: Can be modified in the Chef cookbook (chef repo/data_bags/credentials/pass.json) as crowd:jenkins. IP Address: stays the same 9

11 Click Create User Username: bot Password: password NOTE: Can be modified in the Chef cookbook (chef repo/data_bags/credentials/pass.json) as bot. Full Name: Stash Link Bot ? 10

12 On the Bot's user page, click Actions and choose Edit Groups Add the Bot to the jira administrators group 11

13 Go to IP address >/stash in your browser to begin configuring Stash Application Title: Whatever you want Base URL: < domain >/stash Enter/Generate a license key (If needed, select: I need and evaluation license) 12

14 Enter details for an Administrator account Click Integrate with JIRA Fill in the JIRA base URL (Ex. < domain >/jira) JIRA administrator username and JIRA password are the credentials for JIRA administrator account You should be able to keep the Stash base URL the same Check the box next to Use JIRA as my user database Click Connect Login with your administrator account then click the gear icon in the top right corner 13

15 Click Find new add ons and install Stash Webhook to Jenkins 14
