3 Overview SureClose Advantage Release 2.1 includes additional core functionality. This document provides a brief explanation of what has been fixed, and an introduction to new features and functionality implemented with this release. Deployment Date: April 17, 2009 Post-Installation Considerations After the new version has been deployed and prior to your logging in, it is recommended that you complete the following post-installation tasks: Delete Temporary Internet Files Delete Cookies Deleting Temporary Internet Files (MS Article ID: ) The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains webpage content that is stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. This cache permits Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer to download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a webpage instead of downloading all the content for the page every time it is displayed. Administrators can customize Temporary Internet File settings to prevent modifications. Contact your System Administrator if you cannot access the Internet Options dialog box or the General tab. Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Files. The Delete Files dialog box displays. 4. If available, select the Delete all offline content check box and then click OK. A confirmation message displays asking if you are sure you want to complete the delete process. 5. To confirm, click OK. Note Be patient when performing this task, if the Temporary Internet Files folder contains a significant amount of webpage content, then this process may take several minutes to complete. 4 Deleting Cookie Files (MS Article ID: ) Files starting with the word Cookie may remain in the Temporary Internet Files folder even after opting to delete them. You can delete these files; however, it is recommended that you make a backup copy of cookies prior to deleting them because these files may contain information for a customized webpage or login information for a website that you do not want to lose. If needed, contact your System Administrator for assistance or refer to MS Article ID: Steps 1. Close Internet Explorer and any instances of Windows Explorer. 2. From the Start menu, point to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays. 3. On the General tab, locate Temporary Internet Files and then click Delete Cookies. The Delete Cookies dialog box displays. 5 Features and Functionality This section introduces new features and functionality added to SureClose Advantage What s New in this Release Implement the ability to import files, parties and documents using the Schema4 File Import Format. Uploaded Documents sub tab in Messages expanded to contain import docs as well as docs uploaded from print driver. Change the communication type of the field from text to html. Update the SureClose logo to reflect the registered symbol. Add Loan Amount field to File Details. Extend the application inactivity timeout period to two hours. 6 Import Files, Parties and Documents using Schema4 A Files to Import sub tab has been added to the Messages section. This sub tab contains all the imported orders pending file creation. Files to Import sub tab Imported Order selected SureClose Advantage 2.1 Release Notes 4

7 You can view the orders XML content in the viewing pane below. Pertinent information like the File type, Property Info, Party Info is summarized in the viewing pane as well. 9 The Parties to Import section appears below the File Summary Page, containing all the parties which were imported from the order. In Advantage, there is no automatic importing of buyers or sellers. Select the party and click the Add Party button to add them to the file. The Delete button allows you to delete a single party or multi select several parties. When adding a party, the data from the import is used to create the new party record. Any default values which are set in the import are also applied with the exception of allow login and new file notifications, they are set to blank. Any field values which are not provided in the import but are defaulted when adding a party are still applied. When adding a party, the system performs a search against the global directory to determine if that party already exists in SureClose. The values used from the import to perform the search include first the client contact id and second the parties first and last name. If many matches are found, the system will provide the results for the user to select the party they wish to add. If no matches are found, the system will go directly to the add party screen for creating the new user. SureClose Advantage 2.1 Release Notes 7

10 Uploaded Documents sub tab expanded to contain import docs Documents imported using Schema4 and documents loaded using the Print Driver are now being sent to the Uploaded Documents sub tab in messages. Imported documents that contain a file number are displayed by property address, while those that do not have a file number are shown under the Additional Documents heading. 11 communication type changed to html The communication type for the field on the contact record has been changed from text to html so users can view rich text messages created using the Rich Text Editor. Note Currently, the Rich Text Editor is available only from the Task Reminder feature in Advantage. 12 Loan Amount field added to File Details A Loan Amount field has been added to the Terms section of the File Details. Extend application timeout to 2 hours The period of time in which a logged in user can remain inactive in SureClose before the system performs an automatic logout has been extended to two hours. 13 Set File Role based on Default Role When adding a new party the File Role will be defaulted to the value selected for the Default Role. This association occurs only when the file role is defaulted to unselected, shown as <Select A Role> on the screen. Once a file role has been selected, any subsequent changes to the default role do not impact the File Role. SureClose Advantage 2.1 Release Notes 11

14 Quick Reference Cards (QRC s) added to On-Line Help A new learning tool called, Quick Reference Cards, has been added to the on-line help feature. This tool provides users an abbreviated summary of the steps necessary to perform basic functions. QRC s are currently available for the following features: Activity Log (Add) Contacts (Add, Edit, Search, Import) Documents (Attach, Transfer, Distribute, Link Doc/Task) Tasks (Add, Edit, Delete, Complete, Reminder, Link Doc/Task) Sample of Contact QRC SureClose Advantage 2.1 Release Notes 12

15 Defects This section outlines defects which were corrected in SureClose Advantage Misc defects related to uploading photos of property and contact. Document does not get attached when the system errors while adding a placeholder. Notification preferences are being set without validating that an address is entered. Misc defects related to security privileges. Company search is timing out when no search criteria is entered. Misc cosmetic defects related to cursor control on the screen, error message display, page handling, etc The standard New User notification wording is incorrect. Misc defects related to Zip code validation, display and error message. When viewing a document that has been converted to PDF a warning message is received. Login disabled after too many attempts is not being triggered. Private parties associated to a company (different from the test user's company) that is not linked to a Corporation are showing up in the search results. File number is not being copied to parties from the template. Documents distributed to numerous external recipients are delivered only to first recipient. System error received when creating a file from a template that contains custom roles. Documents beyond a certain age were no longer accessible from document storage. Duplicate s are generated when sending a message to another user in your company. NOTE: The following defects apply to SureClose Professional- When combining documents in task reminder service including an FDF, the fdf is not being combined into the pdf it is coming through as a separate file in the . You can view the fdf in SureClose, but if you try to view it outside of SureClose you get an error. Note: FDF s are currently not supported in Advantage.
