1 MediaCat Installation Instructions Perform the instructions in the following Sections according to your needs: Section I - Program Installation. This is to be performed at both the MediaCat Data Server and all other PCs. Section II - Data Copy operation for either the TSE or main PC, depending on your network infrastructure. Section III - Client Setup for all PCs other than the machine listed in Section II. Note from the Manufacturer: There is a Terminal Server - compliant version of this product to be released towards the end of the year. In the meantime, this Peer-to-Peer installation instruction is the only one available for networks. Section I Step1: If this is a TSE Server or the main PC does not automatically start CD-Rom applications: a. Click Start, Settings Control Panel b. Open Add/Remove Programs c. Click the Add New Programs button in left-tree d. Click the CD or Floppy button in the right-window e. Follow any prompts to run the R:\SETUP.EXE from the CD-Rom drive Step2: The first screen that appears after running is as follows. Click NEXT to continue.

2 Step 3: At the following screen, ensure to click the I Agree radio button and then click NEXT. Step 4: Complete the following screen and click NEXT to continue.

3 Step 5: Assuming that your D: drive is Shared (if not, please share the D: drive as simply "D"), replace the "C:\Program Files" at the beginning of the default installation path to D: so that it reads as follows and then click INSTALL: D:\eVision\mediaCAT\ Step 6: The following screen shows that the program installation is complete. All Steps to this point should be performed on all network computers if applicable. This completes the program installation. Close all open windows.

4 Section II Step 1: Open MediaCat either through the desktop icon or by clicking Start, Programs, MediaCat link. You will now see the following screen. Under the Settings section, click the Catalog Settings link. Step 2: When the following screen appears, click the Copy Catalog button, which will copy the data from CD to a location in which you specify on the hard drive. Depending on space available on any local hard drive, ensure to install this data to a location that falls beneath an existing SHARE on this computer, or create a SHARE for this particular folder in which you will copy the data to so that it will be accessible from other PCs on your network.

5 The following window appears when selecting a location to copy the data to. If space allows, you can use the default location as long as you create a SHARE for this folder. It is preferred to put this data under the D: drive if this is available and SHARED, assuming there is enough disk space. The following window appears to show you status of the copying operation.

6 Step 3: Upon completion of the copying of data, you will now be shown the following screen indicating you now have the data available in two locations. At this point, highlight the CD-Rom drive and click the REMOVE button. The following window appears to ensure that you want to remove this data location. Click YES to proceed.

7 You are left at the following screen to show you that there is a data location on your local hard drive. Click the CLOSE button. Step 4: Click the Catalogs section in the left-tree and ensure that STIHL is listed in the right-window. If STIHL is not listed at all, then you need to reperform Steps 1 through 3. Section III Step 1: After installation of and when opening MediaCat from a client PC, click the Catalog Settings link under the Settings section in the left-tree to reveal a window similar to the one below. Click the Add New button and type in the UNC path to the Data Path setup in Section II, Step 2 above.

8 The window should change to show a UNC path similar to the last item listed in the window below. Step 2: Highlight the CD-Rom drive and any other listings other than the UNC path added in the previous step and click REMOVE. Only the UNC path should be remain in the window as depicted below. This completes the Client Setup.
