Open any web browser. 2. Navigate to the following address: 3. You will be prompted to enter your network username and password. Click OK to login. Accessing your account via other options Please consult the PC and Mac instructions posted at: on how to connect to Xythos using other methods. Account Details You have a 10 gigabyte storage limit on your Xythos account. II: Uploading Files via the Web There are two modes of upload, Basic and Advanced. Basic upload allows you to browse one file at a time, until you have compiled a list of files to upload. Advanced upload allows you to drag-and-drop files or folders onto the Advanced upload screen. The upload mode can be easily switched at any time by clicking either the "Basic Upload" or "Advanced Upload" links on the Upload screen. 2

3 Basic Upload 1. Click the Upload button. 2. If in Advanced mode, click on the Basic Upload link. 3. Click the Browse button to browse to the file you wish to upload. Choose the file and select Open. 4. If you wish to upload more files, click Add File and browse to the file. Repeat this step for as many files as you wish to upload. 5. Click Start Upload. When done, you will be brought back to the space where you uploaded your file/s. Advanced Upload 1. Click the Upload button If in basic mode, click on the Advanced Upload link. 3. You may either drag and drop files and folders onto the drag-n-drop area or you

4 may click Add Files and select files from your local machine. 4. Click Start Upload. When done, you will be brought back to the space where you uploaded your file/s. III: Manage your Folders and Files via the Web Creating a Folder 1. Click on the New Folder button. 2. Enter a Folder Name in the available textbox. 3. Click the Finish button. 4

5 Opening a Folder 1. Simply double-click on the folder you wish to open. 2. Follow the directions for uploading files to upload files to your selected folder. Copy a File or Folder 1. Click on the file or folder you wish to copy. 2. Select the Copy button. 3. In the Copy dialog box, select the destination for the copied file/folder. 4. Click OK. NOTE: To copy multiple files or folders, simply click the checkboxes next to the items you wish to copy and proceed with step 2 in the above instructions. Moving a File or Folder 1. Click on the file or folder you wish to copy. 2. Select the Move button. 3. In the Move dialog box, select the new destination for the file/folder. 4. Click OK. NOTE: To move multiple files or folders, simply click the checkboxes next to the items you wish to move and proceed with step 2 in the above instructions. 5

6 Renaming a File or Folder 1. Select the file or folder you would like to rename. 2. Select the Rename button. 3. Enter in the name you would like in the Rename field. 4. Click OK to complete the Rename, or click Cancel if you would not like to rename the file or folder. Deleting a File or Folder 1. Click on the file or folder you wish to delete. 2. Select the Delete button. NOTE: To delete multiple files or folders, simply click the checkboxes next to the items you wish to delete and proceed with step 2 in the above instructions. To Permanently delete all files and folders in your Trash 1. Double-click the Trash folder in your home folder. 2. To delete all items in the trash, click the Empty Trash button. 3. Confirm that you wish to permanently delete all the items in your Trash by clicking OK. 1. To permanently delete one or multiple items in the Trash, simply click the checkboxes next to the items you wish to delete. 2. Select the Delete button. 3. Confirm that you wish to permanently delete the items in your Trash by clicking OK. To restore a deleted file or folder that exists in your Trash 1. Double-click the Trash icon located in your home folder. 2. All previously "deleted" items will be displayed. Put a check in the box associated to the file or folder that you wish to restore. 3. Select the Move or Copy button. 4. Enter the destination folder to restore your file(s) or folder(s). 5. Click OK. IV: Downloading Folders and Files via the Web To download a folder(s) via the Web 6

7 PC: Folders are downloaded into a Zip file to your computer. 1. Select the folder(s) you would like to save to a Zip File. 2. Right-click on the folder(s) and select the Save to Zip File option. 3. Click the Save button in the File Download dialog box (or the Save to Disk radio button on the Mac and click OK ). 4. Select a location on your computer to save the file. Click Save. 5. Close the Download Complete dialog box. To download a file(s) via the Web A single file can be saved to your desktop or it can be downloaded into a Zip file. If you want to save multiple files, they can only be downloaded into a Zip file. 1. Select the file you would like to save to the desktop or into a Zip File. 2. Right-click on the file(s) and select the Save to Desktop or Save to Zip File option. 3. Click the Save button in the File Download dialog box (or the Save to Disk radio button on the Mac and click OK ). 4. Select a location on your computer to save the file(s). Click Save. 5. Close the Download Complete dialog box. Open a downloaded Zip file from the Web 1. Navigate to the Zip File on your computer. Double-click on the file. 1. If you have WinZip installed on your computer, the file will open with WinZip. WinZip users: 1. From the menu bar, select Actions>Select All. 2. Select the large Extract button in the WinZip toolbar. 3. Select the location of where to extract the contents. 4. Click Extract. Close the WinZip window. 5. Navigate to the folder(s) or file(s) that you extracted to open and manipulate them. Non WinZip users: 1. Double-click on the Zip file to open it. 2. Move the folder(s) or file(s) in the Zip File to a new location on your computer. Mac: 1. Double-click on the.zip file. 2. Move the folder(s) or file(s) in the Zip File to a new location on your computer. 7
