3 How to overcome problems after an installation of SP1 on a Windows 2003 Server with already installed uniflow Installing the Service Pack 1 (SP1) from Microsoft on an already running Windows 2003 Server with uniflow can cause the following problems: - It is not further possible to access the uniflow database. - The access authorizations are invalid. - Access errors on the uniflow website. Note: Please don t install the Windows 2003 Server SP1 with a remote desktop session, because this will damage the RDP-protocol. But a reinstallation of the terminal services will repair the RDPprotocol. To solve the problem, please follow the next steps and screenshots: 1. Change the rights of the COM-Object DsPcSrv - Open the Component Services under Start/Administrative Tools - Browse to Component Services/Computers/My Computer/DCOM Config/DsPcSrv as is shown in the next screenshot. 4 - Right click on DsPcSrv and choose Properties - Choose the tab Security - Select Customize at Launch and Activation Permissions and click on Edit - In the next window add the group Distributed COM User and allow all rights NT-ware 4

5 - Confirm with OK - Select Customize under Configuration Permissions and click on Edit - In the next window add the group Distributed COM User and allow all rights - Confirm with OK and close all windows. 2. Change the rights of the Internet Information Services (IIS) - Open the Internet Information Services under Start/Administrative Tools - Browse to /YOUR SERVER/Websites/Default Web Site/pwserver - Right click on pwserver and open the properties NT-ware 5

6 - Click on Remove behind Application name - Click on Create at Application name (the button Remove will change to Create if you have clicked on Remove ) (where is this button??) - Now the name pwserver should be displayed at the field Application name: as is shown in the upper screen shot - Click on Directory Security and then on Edit at Authentication and Access Control - Select Enable anonymous access and change the User name to IUSER_YOUR-SERVER-NAME, then select Integrated Windows authentication as is shown in the next screenshot: NT-ware 6

7 - Confirm with OK and close window. - Browse to Application Pools under Internet Information Server - Right click on Application Pools and click on properties - Click on the tab Identity - Select Configurable and enter the User name: IWAM_YOUR-SERVER-NAME - Don t change the Password. This is preselected from Windows itself. NT-ware 7

8 - Confirm with OK and close the Internet Information Services Manager Console. NT-ware 8

Edit the USER GROUPS - Please open the Computer Management console under Administrative Tools/Computer Management - Browse to Local Users and Groups /Groups - Add the IUsr and the IWam users into the group Distributed Com Users After those configurations and a reboot of the server, uniflow should run again with all rights to access the database and to display the websites.
