Thursday, 20 February relates to KeyTag Analyzer Version 2.3 (R30) We are pleased to announce the latest update for KeyTag Analyser, now released as version 2.3. This update supports new products, but also contains bug fixes, has some new features and improved functionality. We have compiled this information sheet for those who have already used earlier versions and wish to familiarise themselves with the new functionality of version 2.3. Please also refer to the KeyTag Analyser User Guide, which can be found in the HELP menu of the KeyTag Analyser software. Mandatory Upgrade Two specific issues are present in earlier versions of KeyTag Analyser, which we believe make upgrading to version 2.3 mandatory: 1.

This issue has been corrected in version 2.3. All TRID30-7FW units when downloaded will now show the display clock and the date based on the PC on which it is downloaded.

2 Mandatory Upgrade Two specific issues are present in earlier versions of KeyTag Analyser, which we believe make upgrading to version 2.3 mandatory: 1. TRID30-7FW units currently show an incorrect date when downloaded in version 2.2, since the real time clock is suspended ex factory, and the units are not configured before use. This issue has been corrected in version 2.3. All TRID30-7FW units when downloaded will now show the display clock and the date based on the PC on which it is downloaded. It is therefore important the PC used for downloading has the correct time, date and time zone configured in the Regional Options, available through the Windows Control Panel. 2. In versions 2.1 and 2.2 an incorrect error message is being displayed when you attempt to download a logger that is incompatible with the current software using the automatic download feature. The incorrect error message reads: The correct message should read: If you download a unit through the Menu, or use F4, the logger is correctly identified as being unsupported. Thursday, 20 February relates to KeyTag Analyzer Version 2.3 (R30) From version 2.3 onwards we will be using new installer software for KeyTag Analyser. Your settings will remain intact even with this new installer, so don't be alarmed if you see a different graphic appearing when you update an existing installation. The installer will uninstall any previous version, so the position of your desktop shortcut icon may change after the installer has run. For network administrators this change will mean a different approach to distributed installations. We will now publish *.msi files, which are significantly easier to distribute than the setup files created by the old installer. Windows 8 compatibility KeyTag Analyser is compatible with Windows 8, however there are three things you need to be aware of: Unfortunately the USB Interface drivers are still not available from Windows 8 Update. We are working on making a fully compatible driver available, however the previous drivers had to be removed from the Windows Update, as they caused some issues for users with AMD processor chipsets. We are working on this issue and will make the drivers available through Windows Update as soon as possible. We will announce on the KeyTag website when this is complete. As long as you install the software before plugging in your USB interface you will have no issues with communication. The Mail Application that comes installed with Windows 8 64 bit versions is and will remain incompatible with the mail functionality included in KeyTag Analyser. The installation of a suitable 32 bit application (such as Windows Live Mail) is required to access the "Send Mail" and "Request Help" functions. Automatic ing through SMTP is not affected. There is no live metro tile available in the start screen. New USB drivers Starting with KeyTag Analyser version 2.3r11 new USB drivers are included in the software distribution. These resolve issues with the use of KeyTag interface cradles on USB 3.0 ports. The drivers are currently only available when installing the software. 4 New products We are proud to announce two products newly added to the KeyTag product range. Both of them are indicator products with an integrated statistics memory, which can be downloaded and saved to a file in KeyTag Analyser using the new TIC-KTI/USB interface cradle. Improved Functionality The latest version of KeyTag Analyser contains a large number of behind-the-scenes usability enhancements and corrections.

6 Improved Functionality The latest version of KeyTag Analyser contains a large number of behind-the-scenes usability enhancements and corrections. We added the trip average reading and standard deviation to the report, making this one page overview more comprehensive. New toolbar buttons and context menu entries have been added, so you can now easily switch between elapsed time and real time when in the chart tab. Real time When this button is active, the time axis represents date and time the data were recorded. This is useful when you want to inspected at what date and time a certain event occurred. Elapsed time When this button is active, the time axis represents the elapsed time since the recording began. This is useful when you want to inspected how long into a trip a certain event occurred. TRID30-7FW feature upgrade Readings for TRID30-7FW recorders are now displayed based on the logger's display clock, using the date on the downloading computer. You can now also use the normal configuration process to set the correct display time to the local time, which means you will no longer require to manually set the display clock upon first start. You can also upgrade some features on TRID30-7FW recorders so you can enter a User ID and a password. You will, however, still not be able to change logging parameters as these are prescribed by the WHO. Once you have upgraded the features, you will need at least version 2.3r27 to communicate with these recorders. Known issues We have corrected the following issues listed on our "Known Software Issues" webpage for KeyTag Analyser version 2.2: Issue 11 - a logger with a low battery is now identified without this problem Issue 10 - profiles are now correctly stored and applied, even if the advanced screen is not shown Issue 9 - This has been resolved, unfortunately we had to disable the time selection in this screen. You can still set specific times by zooming into the graph before printing. Issue 8 - The profile save nechanism is now stable in all supported languages Issues 6 and 7 are outside our control, so they will still be listed here. What's new in KeyTag Analyser 2.3? 7 User Server connectivity To connect to user server it is necessary for the user to have local administrator rights on the computer. Depending on certain combinations of operating system and user privileges it may not be possible to connect to User Server from within the KeyTag Analyser application. In that case please consult the Network Administrator Guide which is available through the administrator link on the download page. Changes to Option settings Standard Deviation and Average calculations We have made some changes to the statistics calculations of average and standard deviation. You can now customise each setting through the button. The average reading can now be displayed using up to 3 decimal points. Click on the down arrow and select the desired resolution. Confirm with OK. These settings will be saved when you exit KeyTag Analyser. For more information please see the section about Average in the KeyTag Analyser User Guide. Similarly, the standard deviation can also be displayed with up to 3 decimal points. In addition you can also choose between population based and sample based calculation methods. 8 Export settings You can now include summary information in exported data. There is a new check box in the customisation dialogue, which when ticked will ensure the summary information for the logger is included in the exported data. You can also select this option in the dialogue that appears when clicking on "Save as" from the File menu: COM port settings KeyTag Analyser supports communication with multiple ports simultaneously, so it is possible to connect and use more than one interface cradle at the same time. Each time you use KeyTag Analyser to configure, download or hibernate a recorder it needs to check each enabled port to see if an interface with a recorder is attached to that port. In this dialogue you can define, which communication ports should be checked for connected interface cradles. The more ports you leave enabled, the longer it will take KeyTag Analyser to establish which ports have interfaces connected, and those which don't. What's new in KeyTag Analyser 2.3? Figure 2: Communication Ports with COM 1 and 2 enabled To make the process of disabling serial interfaces easier, you can now enable the check box "Disable all serial ports", and only USB interfaces will be used for communication. This is especially useful if you have Bluetooth devices connected to your computer, which generate a large number of virtual COM ports. It can take KeyTag Analyser a long time to detect if these virtual ports have an interface connected, so disabling the ports significantly improves communication time. Any new COM port established after you disable all serial ports will also be automatically disabled. Here you can enter two temperature values and two humidity values, which are used as maximum and minimum values for the chart's y-axis, regardless of the value of the recorded readings. These settings are stored when the software is closed. Regardless of these settings, you can always zoom in or out using the various zoom controls. When using the context menu in the chart tab you can also temporarily override the manual settings with new ones. Code Pages In KeyTag Analyser password and user ID fields are text entry fields. Up until now it has been difficult to enter passwords and descriptions containing special characters used in languages other than English. To improve this, all KeyTag temperature recorders now store the code page of the computer used to configure the recorder. This allows any special characters to be stored and displayed correctly. Which code page is selected depends on which input language you have selected for your computer. When the KeyTag is downloaded in a different country, the user ID is displayed with the characters from the code page who's reference is stored in the recorder. This now also makes it possible to enter special characters in Asian languages, such as Thai or Chinese, which was not possible before.
