Yokogawa Application Note 4. The CPU Device Area Setup is now displayed. In the example below, no global memory has been allocated for use with Local Devices. Using The the steps Data below Gateway outline Function how to allocate in the Local Y-View Device addresses. Operator Interface ***This document assumes the user is familiar with the Y-View Configuration Software. A key feature of the Y-View Operator Interface series is the ability to Share data between various devices that do not share a common protocol. Is this way, the Y-View provides both operator interface functionality as well as acting as a data gateway. Mapping data between drivers is a simple process. In this example, registers from a Yokogawa FA-M3 Automation Platform CPU will be shared with a Yokogawa MW100 data recorder. Registers in the FA-M3 CPU will include D1 thru D10. The values in registers D1 thru D5 will be sent to the MW100 s Communication Channels 1-5. The values in the MW100 s Measurement Channel 1-5 will be read from the MW100 into the FA-M3 CPU s registers D6-D10. Drivers for PLC1 and PLC2 are setup as follows 5. In this example, 128 Internal Relays (I) and 128 Data Registers (D) will be allocated for use as Local Devices. Note that the smallest block of bit devices that can be allocated as Local Devices is 32. For registers, the smallest block is 2. Check the Set box under Local Device for both Internal Relays (I) and Data Registers (D) Transfer of FA-M3 CPU data registers D1 thru D5 to MW100 s Communication Channels C1 thru C5 1. In the Project Configuration tab, select Device 2. Memory Map 6. It is recommended to allocate Local Devices from the end of available Global Devices. Usage is easier to track and prevents cross-usage issues later. In this example, we will allocate Local Internal Relays starting with and Local Data Registers with Note that any Global Device addresses for the two data types are no longer available for use. 2. Then select PLC1 (which is assigned to the FA-M3 CPU) 3. There are 31 tables available for each device driver. Each table has 128 entries. In this example, table 0 will be used. After selecting table 0, select OK
4. The PLC1 Table 0 will now be displayed 5. From the Main Menu bar, select Edit then Comment 6. Enter up to 15 characters to define the Table 0 function and select OK 7. Next double click on the first PLC1 Memory area
8. When the data dialog box pops up, select D (for Data Register) and 1 (for register D1). Then click on the next transfer (1). The dialog box will be closed and the data listed in the table for entry By default, the >> Target memory 1 and >> Target Memory 2 fields will contain an internal register. Double click on the >> Target Memory 1 data area 10. The Device Memory Map Setting dialog box will appear for transfer 0. Under the Function pull down menu, select Periodical Reading 11. Data transfers can be based on time, synchronization registers, or Table Read/Writes. In this example, time will be used. Enter 1 second in the Reading Cycle area. Note that if High-speed Writing is selected, transfers can occur at rates as fast as 100mSec.
13. Under the first >> Target Memory filed, select PLC2 (for the MW100), 4 for the data type, and 2001 for the starting address is the address for the MW100 s Communication Channel #1 in Integer format. 14. Select OK at the bottom right of the dialog window. 15. Under the PLC1 Memory column, continue to enter register addresses D2 thru D5. Note how the table automatically fills in the >>Target Memory 1 column along with Transfer type and timing. While addresses in the PLC1 column do not have to be consecutive, addresses in the Source Memory columns must be consecutive. This allows for a single block transfer of data vs. multiple individual transfers which require more time.
16. The data transfer configuration for sending data from the FA-M3 to the MW100 is complete. Close the data transfer table by clicking the x at the upper right corner of the window Transfer of MW100 Measurement Channels 1-5 to FA-M3 CPU Data Registers D6 thru D10 To configure the transfer of the MW100 Measurement Channels 1 thru 5 to the FA-M3 Data Registers D6 thru D10, two different methods could be used. A new Data Transfer Table could be setup for the FA-M3 CPU (PLC1) or a Data Transfer Table could be setup for the MW100 (PLC2). In this example, we are going to use another Data Transfer Table in the FA-M3 CPU (PLC1). 1. In the Project Configuration tab, select Device Memory Map 2. Then select PLC1 (which is assigned to the FA-M3 CPU) 3. Select table 1, then select OK 4. The PLC1 Table 1 will now be displayed
5. From the Main Menu bar, select Edit then Comment 6. Enter up to 15 characters to define the Table 1 function and select OK 7. Next double click on the first PLC1 Memory area 8. When the data dialog box pops up, select D (for Data Register) and 6 (for register D6). Then click on the next transfer (1). The dialog box will be closed and the data listed in the table for entry Double click on the >> Target Memory 1 data area
10. When the dialog box pops up, enter the following: Function Periodical Writing Reading Cycle 1 second Check the - << Source Memory 1 box Select PLC2, Data type 4 and enter starting address of 6001 (MW100 Measurement Channel #1). Be sure to uncheck the >> Target Memory #2 box Then press OK 11. Under the PLC1 Memory column, continue to enter register addresses D7 thru D10. As before, the table automatically fills in the <<Source Memory 1 column along with Transfer type and timing. 12. The data transfer configuration for sending data from the MW100 to the FA-M3 is complete. Close the data transfer table by clicking the x at the upper right corner of the window 13. The above data transfer functions will run continuously in the background. For more information on other transfer types and functions, refer to the IM 47K04A00-00E-A, Y-View Connections Manual.
