TEGRITY Streaming a Tegrity Recording Logging In to Tegrity There are 2 ways to log in to Tegrity, from your BlackBoard course, or through the Tegrity website. Here is how to log in to both. How to Log In from BlackBoard Go into your BlackBoard course and click Tegrity Classes. How to Log In from the Tegrity Website Go to und.tegrity.com and log in with your BlackBoard username and password, click Log In, and choose the corresponding BlackBoard course. Navigating the Tegrity Website When you log into the Tegrity webpage, the first page is a list of your courses that use Tegrity. Click on the course name to select the course you want. The next page is a list of recordings for that specific course. This is the page that loads if you enter Tegrity through your Black- Board course. Click the recording name to watch the recording. To return to the course list, click Courses in the top left, und the UND logo. 1
Searching Recordings A Search Bar can be found in the top right corner of the green header banner. You can search the course page, the recordings page, or an actual recording for specific text. When searching a recording for text, the search will find each instance of the recording that the searched word is written on the screen during the recording. How to Stream Recordings On the course recording page, click the title of the recording you want to watch. A list of chapters from the recording will appear. Just click the first one to watch from the beginning. Navigating Recordings This section will cover the basics of watching a recording. First, lets learn our way around the Tegrity Player. Video Pod Screen Capture Pod Bookmarks Pod How to Maximize & Minimize Pods Sometimes when watching a Tegrity lecture, you will find one of the windows, called pods, hard to see. These pods can be resized for easier viewing. To Maximize a Pod Click the maximize icon in the top right corner of pod. This is the Maximize Button To Minimize a Pod To return to the normal Tegrity view, click the Escape key on the top left of your keyboard. How to Adjust the Recording Speed While Watching The Tegrity player allows you to slow down and speed up the recorded audio and video during palyback. You can also jump back 30 seconds to rewatch important information or something you may have missed. Here is an enlargement of the Recording Toolbar to point out features: 3
Clicking this icon allows you to jump the recording back 30 seconds. Clicking CTRL + the Left Arrow Button will also do a 30 second jump back. Slide the indicator to adjust the playback speed faster or slower. The default is set at normal speed (X1) Taking Notes While Watching a Recording In the Bookmarks pod, type in your notes and click Add. After you add the notes, you will see what you have added with a time stamp. The time stamp shows at what point in the recording you input the note. Type notes here and click Add If you hover your mouse over the note, you wil see the option to send the note to Twitter, send the note through email, or delete the note. 4
If you Maximize the Bookmarks pod, you will have more editing options. To maximize the pod, click the arrow to the far right of the window, but near the Bookmarks and Notes pod. The pod will now be about half the size of the screen. Click the arrow again to return to normal views. The advanced editing options include: A B C A. Insert a Snapshot of the Recording This option will provide a screenshot of the Screen Capture Pod. B. Export to PDF This option will create a PDF of the Bookmarks and Notes pod that can be saved to your computer. C. Export to RTF (Rich Text Format) This option will create a Rich Text Format file of the pod to be saved to your computer. 5
Tegrity Toolbar Option On the bottom right of the Tegrity Recorder you will find more options. B A C A. Printer Friendly Page (Shift + P) This option will print the Chapter pages from the recording. The option works best if you are trying to print PowerPoints. Handwriting tends to not print well or at all. B. Show Chapters (Shift + C) This option also shows the Chapter page and allows you to skip to the chapter you would like to watch by simply clicking that chapter. C. Download Recording (Shift + L) This option will download the recording to your downloads. Tegrity Connect Tegrity Connect is a chat feature that allows you to chat with other Tegrity users that are currently on the Tegrity site. To access Tegrity Connect, click the icon next to the Search Bar. 6
