How do I answer a call? When you receive a call, touch Slide the icon right to answer the call; Slide the icon left to reject the call; Slide the icon up to reject the call by sending a preset message. My screen keeps going dark too quickly can I change this? Yes. You just need to adjust the sleep setting. To do this: 1. Touch the settings icon. 2. Touch Display. 3. Touch Sleep. 4. Select a suitable length of time before you want the handset to sleep. 5. Once selected, press the back key to return to the home menu. How do I access voicemail? To access your voicemail dial 121. How do I access my contacts? Tap the phone icon. Select Contacts. How do I change the date and time? 1. Touch the Settings icon. 2. Scroll down to the System menu. 3. Select Date & Time 4. You can opt for the network provided date and time or if you unselect this option the you can set both the date and the time. How do I connect Bluetooth? To access this function, touch on Quick setting bar to get to Settings, then touch Bluetooth, your device and other available ones will show on the screen. To turn on Bluetooth 2. Touch to activate/deactivate this function. To make your phone more recognizable, you can change your phone name which is visible to others. 2. Touch Bluetooth. 3. Touch key and select Rename this device. 4. Enter a name, and touch Rename to confirm.
To pair/connect your phone with a Bluetooth device To exchange data with another device, you need to turn Bluetooth on and pair your phone with the Bluetooth device with which you want to exchange data. 2. Touch Bluetooth. 3. Touch a Bluetooth device you want to be paired with in the list. 4. A dialog will popup, touch Pair to confirm. 5. If the pairing is successful, your phone connects to the device. It says I need to download and install a software update should I do this? Yes. To get the best performance and features from your Android smartphone or tablet you should make sure you're always running the very latest software available for it, not just in terms of apps but also the Android operating system. Using the FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) Upgrade tool you can update your phone s software. To access Software Updates, touch Settings > About phone >Software updates. Touch Check for updates, and the phone will search for the latest software. If you want to update the system, please touch Download, and when that s finished, touch Install to complete the upgrade. Now your phone will have the latest version of the software. You should turn on data connection before searching for updates. Settings for auto-check intervals and reminders about upgrades are also available once you restart the phone. If you have chosen auto-check, when the system discovers the new version, the icon appear in the status bar. will Touch the notification to access the Software Updates directly.
Can I get a case for my Smart Prime 6? The Telecoms team can purchase a case from Vodafone on your behalf. The cost is 15 + VAT. To request a case please email the Telecoms Team on telecoms@southernhealth.nhs.uk providing a cost code to pay for the case. There are cases which fit the Smart Prime 6 handset available on other online retailers which are considerably cheaper. My battery is running down quickly why is this? (shutting down open applications) In Android, once you launch an application, it will continue to run in the background, even after you ve left it and moved on to other tasks. After enough applications are opened in a session, you may notice your device lagging a bit due to the number of open applications using up your device s RAM. To close down applications running in the background: 1. Touch the Recents key 2. This will show all applications which are running. 3. To close these you can either touch the cross in the right hand corner or simply swipe to the right. Can I set a password on my device? You can set a device password: 2. Scroll to the Personal menu 3. Touch Security 4. Touch Screen Lock 5. You can select to use a number pattern, a PIN or a Password. However, please note that a Device Management Policy is due to be set on the Trust provided smartphones which will make having a password mandatory. This Policy will supercede any password you have already set on the device. There will be more communication about this shortly. I have forgotten the password I set for my handset can you reset it? If you have set a device specific password using the instructions above unfortunately we cannot unlock your device for you. You will be required to reset the handset to factory settings to unlock it. This will result in losing the information on your device. Once the Device Management Policy has been applied to your handset, the Telecoms Team will be able to assist in unlocking your device.
