Local files and programs will not be backed up, so it is best practice to keep all your data in the virtual desktop environment. You may use web-based applications such as Point Click Care on either your local desktop or the virtual desktop since all of that data is kept in the cloud. 1. On your desktop will be an icon for Skyline Server 2. The first time you double-click the icon you may see this box:! Check the box that says Don t ask me again for connections to this computer and then hit Connect

The next screen you may see is warning you that the security certificate does not match the name of the server. This is OK. Please check the box that says Don t ask me again for connections to this computer and click YES. 6. The next screen you should see is the virtual desktop itself. As long as you typed in the correct user name and password there should be no more prompts for information.

Changing Your Password on Virtual Desktop You should change your password the first time you log in to the virtual desktop and any time you think someone might have gotten your password. 1. After logging into the virtual desktop (Page 3 of this guide) you can change your password. You cannot reset your password yourself. If you forgot your password, please submit a help desk ticket or ask someone to submit one for you. 2. From the virtual desktop click on Start and choose Windows Security to bring up the login menu. It looks like this: 3. Click Change a password 4. Enter your old password and then enter your new password twice: IT S IMPORTANT YOU REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD AS RESETTING IS DONE MANUALLY AND WILL TAKE TIME. Activate Office on Virtual Desktop The very first time you open any Microsoft Office app (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) on the virtual desktop you will be asked to activate it for your user account. 1. On the desktop, open Word 2016 2. You will see the window below. Enter your email address in the box and click Next 3. The next screen may ask if you are using an Organizational account or Personal account. Choose Organizational Account.

4. Enter your password for Office365, which you set up on page 1 of this guide. 5. Click Accept Configuring Outlook email on Virtual Desktop Microsoft Outlook will be the primary way you interact with email. These are the basic steps to set it up for Outlook 2016. 1. If you have not already done so, please refer back to page 1 of this guide for directions on how to log into the Office 365 web portal to change your temporary password. Once your temporary password has been changed proceed to step 2. 2. If you have not already done so, perform the steps in the previous section in order to Activate Office 3. After activation is successful, go back to the desktop and open Outlook 2016 4. Outlook will prompt you to Connect your Office365 account that you have already used to activate Office. This will automatically configure your email account. Submitting Help Requests All issues must go through our help desk. Please follow these directions to sign in and create or view a support ticket. 1. Go to our Help Desk Portal: http://support.vjnetworks.com 2. Log in with your email address and password. The default password is Changethispw123 3. You can view your Open tickets on the left side under Open Tickets 4. To create a new ticket, click the Create Ticket button in the upper right corner 5. Step 1: Select I have an issue if you are experiencing a problem with something that is functioning incorrectly. 6. Step 2: Title should begin with your name and it should contain a brief description of the problem. Example: Jeff printer issue 7. Step 2: Problem Description should elaborate on the issue and provide as much detail as possible. Example: The printer in my office is not feeding paper. It sounds like its trying to but I just spins for a while and then says paper jam. This has been happening for the past 3 hours. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again but it did not help. 8. Step 2: Check the box that says Emergency ONLY if this is a critical issue that needs immediate attention. If you submit all of your tickets as an emergency and they are not emergencies we will assume in the future when your ticket is marked as emergency that it is not. You should probably call us for most emergencies. 9. Step 3: Make sure your contact info is correct. If you want us to call you about this issue, please list your phone number.
