Introduction! In this training program we will how easily we can upload the Exam Result of multiple students of a class section using an Excel Porting Sheet. The Porting sheets can be generated from the M-Star SES Application can be maintained offline by teachers, and once the result has been entered for students, the same porting sheet can be simply uploaded and the data gets imported in the M-Star SES Application. Exam Result data can uploaded through Principal, Class Teacher and Subject Teacher login and the teachers can upload the Result for their respective class sections Now there are some pre-requisites that we need to ensure before we take up this activity: Grade rules are fetched and saved in SES Exam module for the class we wants to upload exam result Activity Order is set in SES Exam module for the class we wants to upload exam result Exam rules are fetched and saved in SES Exam module for the class we want to upload exam result Exam Schedule is defined in SES Exam module for the class we want to upload exam result Class Teacher and Subject Teacher should have their 16 digit OmVCard number and password with them to login into Exam Result Upload application for result upload. There are three key steps: 1. Generate Result Excel Porting Sheet (Blank) from M-Star SES Application or URL link 2. Entry of Marks (offline) 3. Import of Result Excel Porting Sheet (Filled) in M-Star SES Let us see the steps below. 3
The application for Exam Excel upload is available from the URL: http://admin.kvs.gov.in:443/login.aspx (It is also available through a screen in M-Star SES Application: Examination module Activities Exam Result Porting) 04-19-01: Generate Exam Result Porting Sheet Let us first generate the Porting Excel for Exam Result Entry. 1. Login Exam Result Upload application by using 16 digit OmVCard number and password (URL: http://admin.kvs.gov.in:443/login.aspx) 2. The first page will be the Profile of the user logging in to the Application 3. We then select the current Academic Year 4

4. Click on Exam Result Entry Template screen from where we will generate the Result Porting Sheet 5. In this screen, we select Class Section, Exam name, Exam Schedule and Subject Category (the Main Subject) for which we want to generate the result porting template 6. When we select a Main Subject under which there are Sub-Subjects also, then all its Sub-Subjects gets displayed below and we can select All or specific Sub- Subjects for generating the Excel Sheet 6
7. We now select a filter option that is whether in our Excel Porting Sheet, we want the student names to be displayed in order of Admission number, Roll number or Student Name. 8. Now we click on Generate Excel Template button to download the porting template 9. After this, we wil see the dialog box for opening/saving the Result Porting Sheet. (By default the Downloads folder of the local PC will be used to download the file) 7
10. Locate downloaded file in the Downloads folder 11. In case All Categories were selected for generating the Result Porting sheet, then a zip file will get generated with separate Excel Sheets of each Subject Category, which can be extracted for files. 8

Now we open downloaded porting Excel Sheet for the Subject and we will see that it contains the names of the Students, Subject Names, Max Marks and Pass marks of the subjects, and column for entry of Marks / Grades Below snapshot shows the Excel Porting sheet where Grades entry is required. And in the same column we can select Absent and Exempt Status of the student 9

13. Similar to the above, the Porting Sheet of a subject where Marks entry is to be done will appear like below, where entry of marks is to be done in the column Marks Obtained and in the Remarks column the Absent or Exempt status is to be selected 11
Points to be noted: 1. The Result Porting sheet will display the columns same as per the Exam Result Screens in M-Star SES 2. In case of Subjects where sub-subjects are defined, one Result Porting Sheet will be generated showing all sub-subjects for ease of entry 3. In the Result Porting Sheet, only column where result entry (grades / marks) to be done will be editable and all other columns such as Student Name, Activity Name, Maximum marks, Pass marks cannot be edited 4. Only the Porting sheet generated from the Application can be used to upload the Exam Result. 5. In case of Grades entry, the grade drop down will be same as available in the M- Star SES Application (Grade Rule). 6. In case of Marks Entry Porting sheet, the entry can be done either in column Marks Obtained / Grade or in Remarks 7. Separate Porting sheets will be generated for separate Class Sections 8. Separate Porting sheets will be generated for separate Exams of the Class Section 9. Separate Porting sheets will be generated for separate main Subjects for same Exam. This is so that the sheets can be distributed to Subject teachers for respective entries and upload (Though for Sub-Subjects defined under Main Subject, single sheet will be generated) Now let us see the steps for Importing the Result from the Exam Result Porting Template 12
04-20-01: Import Exam Result from the Result Porting Sheet USER MANUAL Once our Result Porting Sheet is filled and ready for porting, we will use the same sheet for importing our result for various Subjects and Exams. 1. Click on Import Exam Result tab 2. We click on Browse button to select exam result porting file for uploading 3. A windows box opens to locate our Result porting sheet and we select our final sheet 13
4. Then click on Import Excel button. We will see that the fields in the screen displays the details which indicates that the Porting sheet is read correctly 14
5. Click on Upload Result button to upload the result in SES portal 6. A message will display status Complete which means that the Result for the selected Exam, Class Section and Subject(s) have been ported in the M-Star SES Application 7. Now we can login to SES application to check uploaded result in examination module 15
8. In Exam Result screen, we can see uploaded marks are appearing for the students 16
9. The Result would also be available in Exam related Reports Key Points: 1. Data once ported cannot be retrieved back and can only be deleted from SES application 2. Uploading can be done multiple times for same Exam, and Subject in a class section, though it is to be noted that the subsequent excel uploads will overwrite the previous Result uploaded in SES *** End of Document *** 17
