1 Installation Guide for Mazak Mazatrol M - Plus, M-2, M32, T-Plus, T2 Tsubis Part Number: LCD12-0046 Power Down 1. Power down the controller. 2. Power down the complete machine by turning off the rear isolator switch. Old CRT Monitor Removal 3. Using a 4mm Allen key, remove the two screws on the right hand side of the screen panel. 4. Hinge open the screen door.
2 5. Using a 5mm Allen Key, remove the two bolts at the lower front of the Monitor mounting tray. 6. Using a 5mm Alley Key on a 40cm extension, remove the two bolts at the rear of the mounting tray.
3 7. Slide the monitor tray forward about 5cm. Using a posi drive screwdriver, remove the screw holding the earth lead at the front right of the monitor tray. 8. Carefully slide the tray forward sufficiently to enable you to reach the rear cable connectors which are on the right rear of the display. 9. Remove the 3 rear connectors by pressing in the side release tabs and then pulling out the connectors. 10. Fully withdraw the old CRT monitor and put to one side.
4 Preparing the connections 11. Identification of the three connections on the rear of the old CRT monitor. a. The 3 pin AC power connector. b. The video connector. c. The third connector (below) is now redundant and will not be reused with the new monitor. Tape off the end of the connector that went to this socket and tie wrap it to the main cable to keep it stowed safely out of the way. 12. The Video connector - from the accessories pack, select the appropriate adaptor cable that matches the number of pins in the video connector of your old monitor (step 11b). In this example, it is the cable circled in red in this picture.
5 a. Attach the video adaptor cable to the existing video cable on the machine (the cable removed in step 9). 13. AC Power connector cut off the old AC Power connector (CN2). Strip back the 3 wires and fit to the new AC Power connector provided in the kit (the socalled kettle connector). a. Red = LIVE b. White = Neutral c. Black = Earth (centre pin on the kettle connector) Preparing the Replacement LCD Monitor 14. Fit the two metal mounting plates to the sides of the LCD screen using the 4 metal thumb screws supplied. 15. Remove the nut and washers on the rear panel earth stud (just above the AC power connector). 16. Adjust switch S8 to the up position. 17. Adjust switch 9 to the up position ( H+V). 18. Ensure all 4 switches on S10 are in the down (off) position. 19. Note the location of the 3 On-Screen-Display adjustment buttons, Mode, Plus, and Minus. These will be used to set up the display later by reaching under the display and pressing the buttons.
6 Installing the New Monitor 20. Offer the assembled LCD screen up to the controller housing. 21. Attach the earth wire to the rear earth stud on the LCD. 22. Connect the 9 pin video cable to connector X6. 23. Plug in the AC power cable. 24. Slide the LCD assembly fully into the controller housing. 25. Secure the mounting brackets using to two front 5mm bolts. Power Up 26. Power up the machine in the normal way 27. The new display will automatically sync and find the video signal. The screen should display the text and graphics in the same way as the original CRT screen. a. If there is no picture on the display, check the cables connections and switch settings. Display Set Up 28. Use the OSD (On Screen Display) buttons on the rear of the unit to adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the play, as necessary. Use the mode button to select the different modes, and the plus and minus buttons to make the adjustment. You can restore the screen to the original factory settings using the Restore mode. 29. Check the display alignment on the various different pages of the display that you use. 30. After completing the adjustments the settings are automatically saved and will be used again on power up.
