Board Papers App for ipad Welcome! This document will provide you with some basic instructions on how to install and access the Board Papers app on your ipad. It will also give you some navigation and feature tips on how to use the app. If you are using a loaner ipad, your Board Papers app will already been preloaded onto your ipad. To begin your session, tap on the Board Papers app on your ipads Home page (icon shown below). If you are using your personal ipad, to get started, first download the Board Papers app by tapping the App Store icon on your ipad. Once the App Store opens, tap the Search box in the upper right hand corner of the screen (see partial screen grab below) and enter the name of the free app: boardpapers 1
Once the Board Papers app appears in the search list, tap FREE and then INSTALL. Once installation is complete, you can either tap OPEN or press the Home button and find the newly installed app on the Home page. Board Papers App The first time you open the Board Papers app, you will need to complete a one-time user set up: 1. Tap the Board Papers app icon. 2. Tap the Server text box (outlined in red) and enter: https://boardpapers.restaurant.org then tap SharePoint 2013 (outlined in red). 2 P a g e
3. Tap the UserID field and enter the UserID provided to you. 4. Tap the Password field and enter the Password provided to you. 5. Once UserID and Password are entered, tap OK. This completes initial setup of the Board Papers app. When you subsequently open the app you will only need to enter your password again for access to Board Papers, see below for example. Navigation and Feature Tips Here are some navigation and feature tips while using the Board Papers app: Navigate to the board book you would like to view by sliding your finger across the screen, and then tap on the individual book to reveal its contents (note: you may have several books available for review). 3 P a g e
Once you open the desired board book; tap the List icon (outlined in red) to see a listing of the various documents within that particular board book. Document Listing In addition to providing documents, this app allows you to draw and highlight anywhere in the document, giving you the ability to call out specifics. To draw, tap on the Pen icon (outlined in red). Once the Pen is selected, tap and drag to draw/write. 4 P a g e
To highlight, tap on the Highlighter icon (outlined in red). Once the Highlighter is selected, tap and drag to highlight. To change the color of the Pen or Highlighter, tap on the Utilities icon (outlined in red). A submenu will open allowing you to select the color of your choice. The Countdown Timer tells the app how long the Pen or Highlighter should remain active once you have stopped using it. 5 P a g e
To add a Comment to the document, tap on the Comment icon (outlined in red), and then tap the location in the document where you would like the comment placed. A text box will open where you can enter your comments. To see a listing of your Annotations (Pen, Highlighter and Comments), tap the Annotations icon (outlined in red). Your annotations will be categorized and listed in the pop-up dialog box. Tap the category and then the specific annotation to be brought directly to that point in the document. 6 P a g e
Email Documents and Annotations To Email a document, with or without your notes/highlighting, tap on the Share icon (outlined in red). You can choose one of three options; 1) email the document with your notes attached, 2) email the document without notes, 3) email your notes only without the document. For instructions on how to set up your email account on the ipad, please see pages 10-16. To email a document, follow these steps: 1. Navigate to the document you would like to send. 2. Tap the Share icon, then tap one of the three Email options (outlined in red). 7 P a g e
3. An email document will be displayed (see below). Tap the To field and enter the email address(es) to which you would like the document sent. 4. If needed, tap the Cc/Bcc field and enter the email address(es) to which you would like a copy of the document sent. 8 P a g e

Adding Email to the ipad Follow these steps to add an email account on the ipad. Please note: If you choose to set up your personal email on a loaner ipad, please be sure to delete the email account from the ipad before returning it. This will ensure that your personal email is not accessed by anyone else. Instructions for how to delete your personal email account from the ipad are shown in the next section. Gmail, Yahoo! Or AOL If you have Gmail, Yahoo!, or AOL, the ipad pretty much automates the setup. Here are the steps to get you going with any of these e-mail providers: 1. Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen. 2. In the Settings dialog, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then tap Add Account 10 P a g e
3. Tap Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or AOL and then enter your account information in the form that appears. 4. After the ipad takes a moment to verify your account information, tap Save. The account is saved, and you can now open it using Mail. 11 P a g e
Setting Up a POP or IMAP E-Mail Account If your email provider is not shown in the list of preconfigured email services, you will need to enter the account settings yourself. You will need the information shown in the table below to be able to set up these email accounts. This information can be acquired from your provider or your email Administrator. Follow these steps to set up an IMAP or POP account: 1. First, tap the Settings icon on the Home screen. 2. In Settings, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and then tap Add Account 3. On the Add Account page, tap Other. 13 P a g e
4. Enter your name, the account address, the incoming server (which you can get from your provider or email Administrator), and your password. The ipad will probably add the outgoing mail server information for you. Tap SMTP to verify or enter this information. 5. Make sure the Account field is set to On (as outlined in red above), and then tap Done to save the account. 6. You can now access through the Mail app on the Home screen. 14 P a g e
Deleting Personal Email Account from the ipad Follow these steps to delete your personal email account from the ipad. 1. Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen. 2. In the Settings dialog, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then tap the email account you would like to delete. 15 P a g e
3. The general account information for the email account you tapped on the previous page will be displayed along with a Delete Account button. Tap Delete Account. 4. A Delete Account confirmation dialog box will be displayed telling you that your email data will be deleted from the ipad. By tapping Delete, your email account information and data will be deleted from the ipad but not from your email provider. Tap Delete. 16 P a g e
