ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Power Sector in India has grown significantly both in terms of generation, transmission & distribution system. The Electricity Act 2003 with latest amendments in 2014 including open Access laid down provisions for providing Competition in Electricity Market, protection to consumer s interests and provision of power for all. The positive regulatory move created healthy electricity markets supported by effort of Market operators and Market players. The Power exchanges since inception in 2008 are designed with an idea to make electricity markets more transparent, efficient and competitive. Keeping this in view, the workshop aims to provide the participants an understanding of the Power reforms, Practice of Power Exchanges, Electricity Markets, Congestion Management, Power Trading, open Access etc. TOPICS: The Following topics will be covered in the workshop: Power Reforms, Electricity Markets - Short Term and Long Term, Day ahead Market, Congestion Management, Power Exchanges, Power Trading, Regulatory Challenges, Open Accesses, e-bidding processes, contracts, and reliability. IPP.CPP, Tariff Structure, Transactions of Renewable Energy. OBJECTIVIES: The two days workshop on Electricity Market is being organised by CPRI with a view to provide a National level platform for researchers and power system engineers from industry and utility to exchange knowledge and experiences on the latest developments.
