Overview of Huawei ICT Competition As one of the most influential tech companies, Huawei has developed a valuable certification system that has become a well-recognized standard in talent development, reaching high rating in the ICT industry. To lead technical certification, train future ICT professionals, and build a healthy talent supply, Huawei works with Huawei Authorized Learning Partners (HALP) to build Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academies (short for Huawei ICT Academy) and other colleges in the Huawei ICT Competition 2018-2019. Huawei ICT Competition Footprint 2015-2016 2016-2017 2017-2018 Huawei s vision is to build a healthy ICT talent ecosystem and its Huawei ICT Academy program is one of the important fundamental parts. Until now, there are more than 400 universities and colleges around the world, which have joined the Huawei ICT Academy. Huawei trains more than 12,000 students per year, bringing the latest technology to campus and transferring talents to the ICT industry. Firstly launched in 2015, Huawei ICT Competition has developed into an international stage that attracts teachers and students from hundreds of universities and colleges around the world, in just three years. In the 2017-2018 edition, over 40,000 students from more than 800 academic institutions distributed in 32 countries participated in the competition on the latest technologies. At the end of 2017, Huawei released a new vision and mission, that is, to bring digital to every person, home, and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world. Meanwhile, Huawei's enterprise business developed the "platform + ecosystem" strategy, of which talent ecosystem is its foundation. In this ecosystem, talents are the most important factor and the basis to ensure vitality and continuous growth in the industry. The international Huawei ICT Competition was created in order to build an international platform for talents and encourage learning, teaching, and development. With the slogan Connection, Glory, Future, Huawei hopes to achieve three objectives through the competition: to facilitate learning through Connection, to celebrate Glory and achievement, and most importantly, to foster talents that can shape our Future.

Huawei ICT Competition Vision Timeline Huawei plans to make the event the most influential ICT competition in the industry and hopes to build an international talent exchange platform to help bridge talent gap. The Huawei ICT Competition owns three main characteristics, which are Wide Coverage, Great Collaboration and High Standard. Wide Coverage, that is, making more countries and regions involved in the event, reaching more academic institutions and higher enrollment rate. Great Collaboration means that the organization of the event depends on both the internal collaboration between departments at Huawei, like headquarters and Rep. Offices, business departments and public relations, human resources and marketing departments, etc., and external cooperation among Huawei and Huawei ICT Academies, HALPs, universities and colleges, partners, and even other parties in the ecosystem, such as LinkedIn. What s more, students can reach and study cutting-edge technologies like AI, Big Data, IoT through the advanced evaluation model. And a rising number of world-class universities with high educational quality are participating in the competition, which explains the High Standard of Huawei ICT Competition. Huawei is aiming to achieve three targets by the new ICT Competition: firstly, to improve comprehensive capabilities of students. Secondly, to transfer cutting-edge technologies information and thirdly, to explore the business requirement of the industry. June 15 th 2018 Launch Registrational Semi-Final Q2, 2019 Dec. 2018 March 2019 Huawei ICT Competition 2018-2019 3-Level Competition Setting and Key Milestones The new edition of Huawei ICT competition is organized in 3-level: National Preliminary, Regional semi-final and Global Final. Students all around the world can take part in the national preliminary and Regional semi-final which are organized by local Huawei national and regional Rep. Offices. Then, regional winner and representative team will win a ticket to the Global Final that will be held at Huawei Global Headquarters. National Preliminary Global Final

Huawei ICT Competition 2018-2019 Two Tracks Set for Different Technical Domains Track 1 Network Track 2 Cloud Huawei ICT competition 2018-2019 is divided into two tracks: Network and Cloud. However, the two tracks are interrelated disciplines and share about 30% of common topics. Entry Criteria 1 To participate in the Huawei ICT Competition, competitors must be a college student and need to register for it. 2 Competitors can enter the regional final only after obtaining the HCNA or higher level of Huawei Certification. 3 Students of Huawei ICT Academies will be given priority to enter the global final. In special cases, Huawei has the right to distribute priority places. Benefits of the winne Network Track mainly includes courses of Routing & Switching, WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks), Transmission and Security. 1 Winners in the regional final and global final will be rewarded with rich prizes. Cloud Track mainly includes fields, such as, Storage, Cloud Computing, Big Data, IoT and AI. 2 Finalists in the global final will get a full-paid trip to Shenzhen, China offered by Huawei, which includes not only the transportation and accommodation, but also the tour to Chinese universities to communicate with students from other countries. 3 Winners will have priority to participate in Job Fair organized by Huawei, and have the chance to be employed by Huawei or its partners. 4 Last but not least, winners will also obtain the opportunity to further their study at universities that cooperate with Huawei. Competitors will be required to choose one competition track in which they wish to participate and need to take an online exam in each course within the chosen track.
