etraq Server Installation Guide etraq is a e-mail tracking system that helps you enhance business opportunities by leveraging the most popular communication tool, the e-mail. This document provides information to install and configure etraq Server. You need to install etraq on the machine that hosts your mail server. etraq can be accessed using a web-browser. Therefore there is no client installation for etraq. You can simply enter the URL to the etraq web server in your web-browser to access etraq. etraq Components etraq plugs into your mail server to track e-mails. It has four discrete components: Database and Webserver components: These components include the etraq database and the webserver which etraq runs. Users need to access this webserver from a web browser to use etraq. MailServer Components: These components need to be installed on the same machine where you are running your SMTP server. These components are essential for tracking the emails. Repository Components: This is a shared folder on the network where etraq stores the emails it tracks. MESL component: This is a part of MailScan for SMTP application. The component has to be installed along with the MailServer component of etraq. Also the MESL component should be installed only if you are not running MailScan for SMTP on the same machine as the etraq server. You can install all the components on the same machine or on separate machines. If you select Full Installation, all the components (except MESL) will be automatically installed on the same machine. If you wish to install components selectively, you can choose Custom Installation, where you can decide which component(s) will be installed on the same machine. The Custom Installation mode will also allow you to install components on separate machines.
