What is PRINCE2? About PRINCE2 : Projects In A Controlled Environment PRINCE2 is a project management methodology, practised and recognised on a worldwide scale. It s a clearly defined framework, based on a published manual, Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2. Popular in Ireland, UK, and worldwide. Many organisations mandate the use of PRINCE2. No experience is necessary to attend training and sit the PRINCE2 exams. About This Course Days 1-3: PRINCE2 Foundation Training Classroom-based training with an experienced, PRINCE2 certified trainer Day 3: PRINCE2 Foundation Exam 1-hour exam is completed on the afternoon of Day 3. This is a classroom-based course, led by PRINCE2 qualified, experienced project management trainers. Delivery style is a blend of practical and theoretical learning. While some experience in a project management environment is recommended, and will be helpful for completing this course, Axelos do not lay down any formal eligibility requirements to become PRINCE2 certified. Completing pre-course reading (supplied by us) and study are necessary before you attend. They are essential to passing your exams. You will need to set aside time in the evenings during the course to study and prepare for your exams. About This Course 5
PRINCE2 Foundation PRINCE2 Foundation, Days 1-3 In addition to preparing you to sit your official exam, the aim of this course is to provide you with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology to be able to work effectively as part of a project management team within an environment supporting PRINCE2. Course Objectives By the end of the course, you will gain an understanding of the structure and key terminology of the PRINCE2 framework including: The characteristics and context of a project and the benefits of adopting PRINCE2. The purpose of the PRINCE2 roles, management processes and themes. The PRINCE2 principles and processes. You will be prepared to sit the PRINCE2 Foundation exam. You will receive formal notification and your certificate through People Cert on behalf of Axelos. You must pass your Foundation Exam to progress to Practitioner Level on Day 4. Your Exam Preparing to Pass... We supply pre-course reading and study material before you attend the course. Completing the pre-course reading is essential, and may be crucial to your success in passing both exams. You should aim to schedule approximately 15-25 hours for this in advance of the course (this is only a guide and may vary from person to person). It is important that you set aside time in the evenings during the course (approximately 2-3 hours per night) to prepare for your exams. Internet access is required for pre-course study and exam preparation during the course. PRINCE2 Foundation Exam Your PRINCE2 Foundation certification will never expire, or need to be renewed. The PRINCE2 Foundation Exam will take place on Day 3 of training. You must pass your Foundation Exam to progress to Practitioner Level on Day 4. It is a 1-hour, supervised, closed book exam with 75 multiple choice questions. 50% or higher required to pass. Your Exam 8
