**Take note: This guide is not a detailed step by step guide. System Requirements for Mac OS X Clients Download View Client Package 1. Launch Safari. 2. Please click on FAQs, navigate to How-to sub-category and click on How to install view client on Mac OSx question/entry. Click on VMware-Horizon-View-Client-2.0.0-1049726.dmg to download the installation file.
3. Alternatively you can copy and paste the link shown below: https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadgroup=viewclients_ma C_200&productId=331&rPId=3636 to Safari address bar and press [Enter] to download the View Client Installation file for Mac OS X from VMware website. 4. Scroll down the web-page and click [Download], 5. Please click [Save].
6. The file will be automatically downloaded to your Download folder. Installation of View Client Package 7. Double click at VMware-Horizon-View-Client-2.0.0-1049726.dmg to open the dmg file. 8. Click [Agree] to accept license agreement. The contents of the disk image appear in a VMware View Client Finder window.
9. In the Finder Windows, drag the Horizon Client icon to the Applications Folder icon to install the View Client. 10. Once installation is done, VMware Horizon Client will appear in your Applications Folder. Login into Your Virtual Desktop 11. Double click at VMware Horizon Client to launh View Client application and click at Add Server icon to add View Connection Server 12. Please enter the following view.iit.tp.edu.sg and click [Continue] to create a connection to the View Connection Server.
13. Please click view.iit.tp.edu.sg launch the connection link to View Connection Server.
14. Please click [Continue] to proceed to connect to View Connection Server. 15. Please enter your Username (example: 1234567Z), Password (example: Password) and ensure your Domain is IIT-DOMAIN to login to your virtual desktop and click [Continue].
16. Select and double click at the desktop pool for the subject you are attending. 17. You will see a window dialog box of your virtual desktop have been launched.
18. Now you are able to use your virtual desktop. To Access USB Thumb drive on Your Virtual Desktop 19. To access your USB thumb drive via View Client, ensure your thumb drive is plugged into your machine. Click on [ ] and click Start remote desktop USB services to connect your thumb drive to the virtual desktop.
20. Please click on [Continue]. 21. Please enter your Mac OS X Mountain Lion local account name and password in order to start the USB services. Click [OK].
22. Once USB services started, click on [ ] to display the USB devices connected to your mac machine and click on Your Thumb Drive for example SanDisk Cruzer Edge. 23. Please click on [Continue] to connect USB device.
24. You will see the Installing device driver software appear in the virtual desktop. 25. Now you are able to access your USB device. 26. Please click on Safety Remove icon to safely removal of USB devices.
To Unlock Your Virtual Desktop 27. At the top of your virtual desktop, click [ ].This will send a Ctrl-Alt-Del to your virtual desktop. 28. Click at your IIT-DOMAIN account to login to your virtual desktop.
29. Enter your IIT-DOMAIN account password and press [Enter]. To Disconnect Your Virtual Desktop Session 30. At the top of your virtual desktop, click [ ].This will send a Disconnect instruction to your virtual desktop.
31. Please click [Disconnect] to confirm disconnection of virtual desktop. 32. To re-login to your virtual desktop, please click [view.iit.tp.edu.sg] to connect to the View Connection Server.
33. Please click [Continue] to proceed to connect to View Connection Server. 34. Please enter your Username (example: 1234567Z), Password (example: Password) and ensure your Domain is IIT-DOMAIN to login to your virtual desktop and click [Continue].
35. Double click at the desktop pool for the subject you are attending. 36. Your virtual desktop will be resumed to the state of where you have left before disconnecting your virtual desktop.
To Log off Your Virtual Desktop Session 37. To log off your virtual desktop you can simply click at [Start] click at [Log off]. Once you have log off, your virtual desktop will be erased or deleted. You would not be able to retrieve any of your data you have saved on your virtual desktop. 38. Please to take note that you need to save your work in Skydrive or USB storage devices, please access http://skydrive.live.com. Login using your TP Student Account and Password.
