1 Troubleshooting for Onboarding Paperwork (PeopleFluent) When you click the Begin button on the Home Page it will look as if nothing happened, but if you scroll to the bottom of the page the first form New Hire Information Form will be displayed. Step 1: Please make sure you have Adobe Reader installed on your PC. No other PDF reader is compatible For Windows based PC, please use Internet Explorer and follow the instructions for Internet Explorer settings. (Page 2-Page 8)** For MAC Users, please use Safari as your browser and follow the instructions for Safari. If you don t have one of the settings for Safari steps, continue on to the next step. Please ignore the Browser Not Supported error message. (Page 7) ** 1 P a g e

2 New hires are getting a Browser Not Supported message when they click on a task. Note: New Hire Portal is NOT COMPATIBLE Google Chrome The following are compatible browsers: Hint: Use Internet Explorer for optimal performance. Internet Explorer You may need to set Adobe Acrobat as the default program to open PDF for newer IE versions. Follow the steps below: 1. Close all browser windows. 2. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader. 3. Choose Edit > Preferences. 4. Select Internet in the left panel. 5. Uncheck the option Display in Read Mode by default and click OK. 6. Go to Tools>Manage Add Ons 2 P a g e

3 7. Click on Toolbars & Extensions. Click on the drop down box for Show and click on All Add Ons 8. Look for the Adobe Reader Add On. Click on it and then right click on Disable and choose the Enable Option. 9. Go to Internet Explorer>Tools>Compatibility View Settings 3 P a g e

6 Use for Windows 8 PC s if IE does not work Try This: FireFox (AKA Mozilla) Version 19 and greater has built in PDF viewer which prevents the PF New Hire portal to launch PDF forms correctly. Follow the steps below to change the settings (The Options setting must be set to Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) : 1. Click on Open menu from FireFox and select Options. 2. Select Applications. 3. Locate Portable Document Format (PDF) under Content Type. 4. Change Action to Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox). 5. Click OK. 6 P a g e

7 Macintosh Safari Step 1 (ALL Mac OS X Versions): Set Adobe Acrobat as the default program in order to open PDF files. 1. Right click the file and select Get Info for any PDF file that you have stored on your computer. 1. Change the Open With dropdown settings from Preview to Adobe Reader (default) ). (even if this is already selected, reclick on the program and then proceed to click on the Change All button). 2. Click Change All to apply the changes for all PDF files. An additional step is needed for Mac Snow Leopard and newer versions: OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) OS X v10.7 (Lion) OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion) OS X v10.9 (Mavericks) Step 2 (for Snow Leopard and newer versions users only): Set your Safari up to run in 32-bit. 1. If Safari is currently open quit Safari by going to the menu Safari > Quit Safari. 2. Open a new Finder window and navigate to the Applications folder. 3. In the Finder, select Safari. 4. Ctrl + Mouse Click > Get Info 5. In the "Safari Info" window, open the "General" section tab. 6. Select the check box "Open in 32-bit mode" 7. Close the "Safari Info" window. Step 3 Change browser preferences in Safari 1. Launch Safari and go to Preferences 2. In the Preferences window click on Security 3. Click on Website Settings buttong under Internet Plug-Ins 4. Select Adobe Reader in the list of plug-ins 5. Under the option When visiting other Websites, in the drop down list select Allow Always and click on Done Step 4 Change settings in Adobe 1. Open up Adobe & go to Edit\Preferences 2. Click on Internet Tab 3. Uncheck the box for Display in Read Mode by Default Relaunch Safari and try to complete your Onboarding. You may still get an error message that your browser is not completed. Please proceed past this message. 7 P a g e
