Introduction Galileo Rail SNCF software works in conjunction with the Focalpoint system to provide access to rail information. This guide provides information on how to install and configure Galileo Rail SNCF. Before you install Galileo Rail SNCF, you must have the following requirements installed and working successfully on your computer. Requirements The following minimum requirements are necessary to install Galileo Rail SNCF. Hardware Requirements The minimum hardware requirements are: 5 MB free hard disk space 16 MB RAM (32 MB recommended). Software Requirements The minimum software requirements are: Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows Xp operating system. Focalpoint 3.50.21. Focalpoint must be properly functioning and able to access the Apollo or Galileo host system. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5. ( IE 6.0 recommended) Note: Microsoft Virtual Machine is required for use with Galileo Rail. Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 automatically installs Microsoft Virtual Machine. Make sure that JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled is ticked in the advanced Internet Options Windows 95 or NT 4.0 LAN Adapter and Microsoft TCP/IP Protocol Stack (see Windows 95 or NT 4.0 CD-ROM). In order to print tickets on Galileo Rail SNCF, both MQ Print Manager and Galileo Print Manager must be installed. Installing Galileo Rail SNCF 1. Insert the Galileo Rail SNCF CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. a) Click Start on the Windows taskbar, then select Run. b) Typed:\SNCF_Railmaster\SETUP.EXE and click OK. Note: This procedure describes the CD-ROM drive as d:. Your CD-ROM drive letter may be different. 2. If you have previously installed Galileo Rail SNCF, the following window displays. Click Yes to continue installation. Note: If Galileo Rail is not currently installed on your computer, the Welcome window (step 3) displays. Galileo Rail SNCF Installation Guide 2
3. The Welcome screen appears. Click Next. 4. Click Next to confirm the destination for the Galileo Rail SNCF files. Galileo Rail SNCF Installation Guide 3
5. Click Next to start copying files to your computer. The copying process is monitored by your computer. 6. If the setup detects a previous version of Galileo Rail SNCF, the following window displays. Click Yes to overwrite the file. 7. To use Galileo Rail SNCF, you must restart your computer. Getting Started with Galileo Rail SNCF To use the most current version of Galileo Rail SNCF, you must use the Focalpoint 3.5. 1. Open Focalpoint 3.5 and sign on to the Galileo host system. 2. In the Companions menu, select Galileo Rail SNCF. The Galileo Rail SNCF window displays as a separate window. 3. The Galileo SNCF Screen will appear Galileo Rail SNCF Installation Guide 5
4. If want to use this computer as server for your ticket printers, you must open both the MQ Print Manager and Galileo Print Manager applications. a. Select Start from the Windows taskbar. b. Select Programs, then select Galileo Print Manager. Galileo Rail SNCF Installation Guide 6
c. Select Print Manager to display the Galileo Print Manager dialog. Minimize the dialog. d. Open MQ Print Manager. If MQ Print Manager is currently running, click the MQ Print Manager on the Windows taskbar. Minimize the dialog, and begin your session. If MQ Print Manager is not currently running, repeat steps a b, then select MQ Print Manager to display the MQ Print Manager dialog. Removing Galileo Rail SNCF 1. Click Start on the Windows taskbar. 2. Select Settings, then Control Panel. The Control Panel folder displays. 3. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box displays. 4. Select Galileo Rail SNCF from the software list. 5. Click Change/Remove. 6. Click Yes, when prompted to remove Galileo Rail SNCF. 7. If prompted to remove one or more shared files, click Yes to All. 8. If prompted to confirm the removal of the shared files, click Yes. 9. The removal process displays on the Remove Programs from Your Computer window. When the process is completed, click OK. 10. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click OK to close the dialog, or select another software application to remove. Galileo Rail SNCF Installation Guide 9
Troubleshooting Galileo Rail SNCF 1. Error on opening Galileo Rail SNCF: This happens when the Microsoft Security Patch: KB828741 is installed.
