2. Get started with your smartphone/ tablet Let s get started by following the below setup instructions. 1) Insert the 4 AA alkaline batteries in the Pronto as instructed below. 2) Place Pronto in line of sight with your other IR devices. 3) Download the Peel Smart Remote app from the App Store. 6

4) Once you ve downloaded the app, open the Peel Smart Remote app and tap Start. Swipe from right to left in case you want to explore the Peel Smart Remote app first. 5) Select your country and tap Done in case you want to edit. Enter your zip code and tap the arrow. Select your TV Service Provider (4a) or select Setup Remotes Only (4b) in case you do not have a TV Service Provider. Tap Next (5). (4a) (4b) (5) 6) When you are on the home screen of the Peel Smart Remote app press the remote icon. In the next screen tap Buy Pronto (2a) in case you don t have a Pronto yet. In case you have already a Pronto tap Setup Pronto (2b). In the next screen select the Pronto device you want to connect to. Here you need to make sure that your Bluetooth is turned on in your iphone settings, otherwise you will not be able to connect with the Pronto. (2a) (2b) 7

7) Select your TV brand (1a) or tap Show more brands at the bottom of the list (1b) in case you can find your brand in the shortlist and tap next. Confirm in the next screen that your TV is turned off. Tap the on/off button (4). In case your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on) tap Yes (5a). In case it didn t turn on (or off in case the TV was already turned on) tap No (5b) and test the next buttons until your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on). (1a) (4) (1b) (5b) (5a) 8) In the next step you need to confirm if you have a cable or satellite box. In case you don t have a cable box or satellite box tap I don t have one (1a). In case you have one tap Proceed (1b). Select your brand from the list (2a) and tap Next or find it through the option Show more brands (2b) at the bottom of the list. In the next screen confirm first that your cable box or satellite box is turned on by tapping OK (4). Tap the Channel up button (5). In case your TV channel changed tap Yes (6a). In case it didn t change tap No (6b) and test the next buttons until your channel changes. (2a) (5) (1a) (1b) (2b) (4) (6b) (6a) 8

9) Once you ve finalized the above the app will ask you to add more devices. You can do so by tapping Add more devices (note: how to do is, is explained in chapter 6 Add other devices ). In case you don t want to set up any other devices tap Done. 10) The app will ask you to configure your activities when you have different devices set up. You can tap Configure Now or you can tap Later (note: how to do this is explained in chapter 14 Select input for your devices ). 9

3. Get started with Apple Watch First, make sure you ve set up your home entertainment devices in the Peel Smart Remote app on your iphone or ipad. Otherwise you will not be able to control your devices from the Peel Smart Remote app on your Apple Watch. 1) Go to the homescreen of your iphone and tap the Watch icon on your iphone. When you opened the My Watch app make sure that you are in the tab My Watch. 2) Scroll down to your list till you see the Peel Remote app icon and tap on it. Make sure in this screen that Show App on Apple Watch is turned on. 10

3) Press the handle on the right of your Apple Watch and tap the Peel Smart Remote icon to open the app. Once you ve opened the app on your Watch you can chose to control your electronic program guide (2a) or to control the remote (2b). (2a) (2b) 4) When you want to tune into a specific TV show you need to tap Live TV and then select the TV show that you want to tune into. The time wil change into Tuning to channel XX when the channel is being changed to that show. 5) When you want to access the remotes of your different home entertainment devices tap Remote and swipe in order to select the device that you want to control. Tap the device that you want to control. 6) Once you ve selected the device that you want to control you need to swipe left or right in order to control the different control demands (e.g. volume, channel, power, play, menu, etc. à this depends on the device that you select). 11

4. Tuning in You have a few different options for tuning in to your favorite program. a) You can tap a tile on the home screen. A green Watch On TV button will indicate the show is now airing. Just tap the button to tune-in. b) You can also tune in from the individual show page by tapping the show on the home screen, tap More and tap the watch on TV icon. c) A third way is to select a program from the channel Guide on the remote screen. Tap the TV icon and swipe from right to left. Tap the show you want to watch from the list. 12

d) You can use the remote itself to tune in, by tapping the channel up or down buttons. e) Finally you can use the remote itself by typing in a specific channel number. a. You don t have a set-top box: Make sure that you selected your TV device in the remote screen. Tap the dial icon and enter the channel number and tap close (4). (4) b. You have a set-top box: Make sure that you ve selected your settop box device in the remote screen. Tap the dial icon and enter the channel number and tap close (4). (4) 13

5. Set Reminders For upcoming shows you can set reminders that will appear on your notification screen when the show will air in about 5 minutes. You can do this in different ways, which are as follow: a) On the home screen tap the section On later and tap the show or movie where you would like to set a reminder. Tap the Remind me button. Now a reminder has been set (4) and a reminder will appear on your iphone when the show will air in about 5 minutes (5). (4) (5) b) On the home screen tap a show and tap more. Scroll down the next page till you see upcoming schedules and tap the clock icon. When you have set the reminder the clock icon will appear red (4). A reminder will appear on you iphone when the show will air in about 5 minutes. (4) 14

6. Add other devices In case you want to add other devices besides your TV and set-top box such as DVD player, Blu-ray player, streaming media players, soundbar, etc., please follow below steps. 1) When you have the app on the homescreen tap the remote icon. Swipe from right to left in the top bar of the next screen till you see the + sign and tap it. 2) Tap the device type from the list that you would like to add and tap Next. In the next list select your brand (3a) or tap Show more brands at the end of the list (3b) to see the full list with available brands and tap Next (4). Tap the on/off button (5) in the next screen. In case your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on) tap Yes (5a). In case it didn t turn on (or off in case the TV was already turned on) tap No (5b) and test the next buttons till your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on). (3a) (5) (3b) (4) (6b) (6a)!!! In case you can t find your brand tap Can t find my Brand and fill in your email, brand and model to have your device listed in the Peel database and tap Send. You will be informed when your device has been added to the database. 3) You can repeat the above steps for all your devices that you would like to control through the Peel Smart Remote app. 15

7. Delete a device 1) Tap Settings and select the room where you would like to delete a device. 2) In the next screen tap the device that you would like to delete under the section Devices. 3) Tap in the next screen Delete and confirm that you want to delete the device. 16

8. Switching between remotes You can easily switch between different remotes, which is as follow: When you want to control a specific remote control (e.g. DVD Player, Blu-Ray Player, TV, etc.) you can do so by going to the remote screen by tapping the remote icon on the home screen and tap one of the devices at the top bar that you would like to control. Note: if needed you will need to swipe from right to left in order to see your other remotes (A). (A) 17

9. Create a macro When you want to execute a sequence of different remote control commands you can create what we call a macro through the Peel Smart Remote app. As an example you want to play a Blu-Ray which means you would like to send out the following command: power on Blu-Ray + play. In case you want to use this functionality, follow the below steps. Note: This macro is just an example, you can create different ones and create as many as you want. 1) Tap the remote control icon on the homescreen. In the next screen swipe from right to left on the top bar till you see Custom Remote and tap on it. 2) Tap the + sign to create a macro button and give your macro a name and tap Pick a device. Select the device where the commands signal needs to be sent to (4). (4) 18

3) Than tap Pick a function and in the next screen scroll down till you find the command function that you want to use. Afterwards you tap the + signal and enter the amount of delay (4) that you want to use before the new commands needs to be sent out and tap Add to finalize (5). (4) (5) 4) Now you can repeat the above step 2 and 3 to create your macro till you have created the correct command sequence. Once you ve finalized, tap Test. If everything has been executed correctly you can tap Done (4). (4) 19

10. Edit/delete/move a macro 1) Edit a macro If you want to edit a macro just tap the pencil icon and than you can edit your macro by removing (2a) and/or adding (2b) a command. (2a) (2b) 2) Delete a macro If you want to delete a macro just tap the pencil icon and tap the Delete button in the right top corner. 3) Move a macro If you want to move a macro just tap and hold the macro that you want to move and drag it to another position. 20

11. Add another room If you want to set up another room where you have other home entertainment or smart home devices, please follow below steps.!! Please note that Pronto functions via Bluetooth, so keep in mind that you might need to take the Pronto along with you when moving to another room as Bluetooth only works in a range of 32ft or 10m. Another option is to buy an additional Pronto if you don t want to carry it from one room to another. 1) On the homescreen go to Settings. In section Room tap Add Room and select the preferred room (3a) you would like to set up. In case the room is not listed select Other (3b) and change it to your preferred room name and tap Next (3b). (3a) (3b) (3b) 2) Hereafter, follow the same steps as in step 5) till 10) from the setup section. 21

12. Delete a room!!! Note: In case you only have one room set up in the Peel Smart Remote app you will not be able to delete that room. 1) Tap Settings on the homescreen. In section Room select the room that you would like to have deleted. 2) Tap the button Delete Room and confirm by tapping in the next screen Confirm deleting Room. 22

13. Edit Channel List 1) On the homescreen tap Settings and select the room where you would like to edit your channel list. 2) In the following screen tap Channels. Now you can manage HD/SD settings (2a), foreign language channels (2b) and add/remove channels from your list (2c). Once you ve finished tap Done. (2a) (2b) (2c) 23

14. Select input for your devices This feature makes it possible to switch with one tap from one remote (e.g. Telenet) to another (e.g. Apple TV) without the need to change manually the input of your TV settings. 1) Go to Settings and tap the room where you would like to select the inputs. 2) Scroll down in the next screen till you see Activities and tap Tap to configure (note: you will only see Activities in this screen when you have set up more than 1 device aside of the TV). 3) Go to input setting and select the correct input for your device that s connected to the TV or another device (e.g. AVR) and tap Done. 24

15. Learning Edit existing IR code In case you want to give different commands to your preprogrammed remote control you can reprogram the code by following below steps. 1) Go to Settings and tap the room where you would like to learn a button for the device that you have in that room. 2) Scroll down to Devices and select the device where you would like to learn an IR code. In the next screen tap Edit in the IR Details section. In the following screen tap Edit next to the button where you would like to change the command. 25

3) Press the button on your physical remote while pointing it at Pronto. Once the code is learnt (the button will turn blue when it detects a successful IR learn), test the code by tapping on the Test button.!!! Note: in case you press the button on the physical remote too long the code will be duplicated (e.g.: if you press the button 1 too long it will be learned as 11, 111, etc.). So only press the button as long as you would need to execute a command to your home entertainment device. 4) When the test was successful tap 'Yes (A) and confirm in the pop up screen to replace the code by tapping Yes. When it was not successful tap No (B) and try again. (B) (A) 26

16. Learning Add new IR code In case you want to add a new button to your preprogrammed remote control you can program the code by following below steps. 1) Go to Settings and tap the room where you would like to add a new button for the device that you have in that room. 2) Scroll down to Devices and select the device where you would like to add a new button (new IR code). In the next screen tap Edit IR Codes in the IR Details section. 27

3) Scroll down to the bottom of the below page and tap Learn New Code. Give your new code a name and tap Next. 4) Press the appropriate button on your physical remote while pointing it at Pronto. Once the code is learnt (the button will turn blue when it detects a successful IR learn), test the code by tapping on the Test button. Confirm you want to replace the learnt code by tapping Yes.!!! Note: in case you press the button on the physical remote too long the code will be duplicated (e.g.: if you press the button 1 too long it will be learned as 11, 111, etc.). So only press the button as long as you would need to execute a command to your home entertainment device. 28

5) When the test was successful tap 'Yes (A) and confirm in the pop up screen to add the newly created code by tapping Yes. When it was not successful tap No (B) and try again. (B) (A) 29

17. Share or take note of a show/movie If you want to share or take note of a show or movie details with a friend or family you can do so through the Peel Smart Remote app. Great way to start a conversation about the show or movie that you are watching at that moment! 1) On the homescreen tap the show that you want to share and tap More. 2) In the next screen tap the share icon. Select in the menu through which medium you want to share the show (4). (4) 30

18. Change Service Provider In case you want to change from a certain TV service provider or satellite provider to another one you can change this in the Peel Smart Remote app settings as well by following the below steps. 1) Go to settings and tap the room where you would like to change the service provider. 2) Tap Service provider and confirm Change Provider. 3) Select your country, enter your postal code and tap the search icon. Select your service provider (4) and tap Next (5). (4) (5) 31

19. Connect another ios (= iphone, ipad or ipod) device with the Pronto for the first time When you want to connect with another ios device to the same Pronto for the first time you can follow below steps. 1) Open the Peel Smart Remote app and tap Start. 2) Select your country. Enter your postal code and tap the search button. Select your TV Service Provider (3a). In case you do not have a TV Service Provider you can select Don t have Cable/Satellite box (3b) in order to move to the next screen and tap Next (4). (3a) (3b) 3) When you are on the homescreen of the Peel Smart Remote app tap the remote icon in the right bottom corner. Make sure that you tap Setup Pronto. Here you need to make sure that your Bluetooth is turned on, otherwise you will not be able to connect with the Pronto. (4) 32

4) First you need to select the Pronto device that you want to connect to. In case it s still connected to the other device it will have a red dot which means that you can t pair for the moment the Pronto with the new ios device. In order to do so, turn the Bluetooth off from the other ios device as the Pronto might still be connected to the old ios device or you can kill the Peel Smart Remote app on the old ios device. Now the Pronto device will turn green for the new ios device, which means it s ready to pair by tapping it. New ios device Old ios device New ios device New ios device 5) Once you have finalized the steps above you can go further with the setup steps as indicated in the setup section from step 7 till step 10 for the new ios device. 33

20. Connect another ios device (= iphone, ipad or ipod) with the Pronto after having it set up for the first time Multiple ios devices can connect with the Pronto but only 1 ios device at a time can send commands to the Pronto. In order to have the correct device connected with the Pronto you need to pay careful attention by following the below instructions: When device A is connected with the Pronto and it has the Peel Smart Remote app open and Bluetooth is turned on, device B will not be able to establish a connection with the Pronto. In order for device B to make a connection with the Pronto you need to either: Turn off the Bluetooth in the iphone settings of device A, or; Kill the Peel Smart Remote app of device A In case you still can t connect with the Pronto open the battery door of the Pronto for more than 5 seconds and close it again or press the reset button of the Pronto for more than 5 seconds. By doing this, device A will have lost the connection with the Pronto and device B will be able to connect with the Pronto. 34

21. Update Pronto Software 1) Go to the App Store and search for Pronto FW updater. Tap Get and confirm by tapping Install in order to start the installation of the app on your device. Kill the Peel Smart Remote app by double pressing the homescreen button and swipe (from the bottom of your screen to the top) the Peel remote app from the screen (4). (4) 2) Once the installation of the Pronto FW updater is finished open the app by tapping Open. Tap in the next screen Get Started and select the Pronto that you want to update.!! Note: You will only be able to update Pronto when it s highlighted in green/ when your phone is paired with Pronto. 35

22. Reset Peel Smart Remote app In case you want to reset the app you can do so by following below steps.!!! Please be aware by resetting the app, you will delete all your settings and will need to reprogram all of your home entertainment devices. Tap Settings and tap Reset Peel SmartRemote and tap Confirm Reset. 36

23. Reset Pronto To reset you re the Pronto device, press the reset button on the back of the Pronto for more than 5 seconds with a small pin. The red LED of the Pronto will start to blink. Once you have paired your smartphone with the Pronto through the Peel Smart Remote app, the red LED will stop blinking. 37

24. IR extension cable Together with the Pronto there is an IR extension bundled in the packaging. This cable allows you to tuck away all of your entertainment devices in your cabinet, while still maintaining control of these devices. To install the IR extension cable, plug it in to the back of the Pronto device and attach the IR eye on the IR transmitter of your TV. 38

25. Troubleshooting A. I can t connect with my Pronto. 1) First check in your iphone settings if Bluetooth is turned on. 2) If point 1 is not working check if any other devices are not connected with the Pronto by turning off the Bluetooth in the settings of the other devices. 3) If the above is not working open the battery door of the Pronto for about 5 seconds and close the lid again or press the reset button of the Pronto device for more than 5 seconds.
