Also responsible for creating and maintaining web front-end appearance and navigation. Exercises no supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Requirements and Design: Participates in, and sometimes facilitates client sessions and interactive design sessions. Collects, reviews, and assists in refining client requirements. Participates in design and navigation strategy sessions. Web Page and Content Development: Creates, enhances or modifies complex web pages and web content according to client requirements while adhering to organizational design guidelines. Utilizes advanced techniques of web editors, web generators and graphical elements to create web content and to produce site info map and, eventually, clickable prototypes. Fluent in usability techniques and disciplines. Graphics and Image Creation: Creates and assembles graphics and images. Performs freeform drawing or creation of images/graphics. Uses photographic library to grab images and integrate into the web design. Web Standards: Ensures the design of the web page layout adheres to the organization's appearance and navigation standards. Web Standards Documentation: Maintains and reviews documentation that outlines internal processes regarding specifications and standards for developing web content. Testing: Assists in the design, development and implementation of usability testing practices and user interface best practices. Develops and executes usability test plans to ensure web pages adhere to usability practices. Emerging Technology: Keeps current on new technology. Assesses new standards, technologies and trends to formulate strategies for enhancing web sites. Coaching and Mentoring: Provides mentoring to less experience staff, as required. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years of Web Design work/training experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and proficiency in user experience strategy and visual design utilizing User Centered Design Methodologies for web, mobile, and other digital delivery platforms to create the most possible seamless experiences for users. Knowledge of Information Architect methodology and principles. Strong skills to create process flows, site maps, wireframes, screen prototypes and functional specifications. Strong skills in Visual Design, responsive page layout for cross browser/device compatibility utilizing HTML, HTML5, CSS and current industry standards. Advanced creating and customizing graphics utilizing industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Social Media and digital initiatives, including integrating interactive media into the overall business strategy. Knowledge of skills with a sound understanding of writing for the web and engaging online audiences. Advanced in configuration and use of Web CMS systems, preferably DotNetNuke (DNN) and knowledge of Drupal.
