PWCS and Microsoft Office 365
ALL staff and students in PWCS have an Office 365 account.
What is Office 365? Office 365 provides anywhere online access to familiar Office tools, email, and document management.
Office 365 includes access to email (Outlook) and an online calendar
Your Office 365 account also gives you access to OneDrive and cloud-based versions of Office 2013.
OneDrive comes with 1 TB of Online Storage
Office Online allows you to collaborate in real-time with others.
Your Office 365 account also allows you to download local versions of Microsoft Office 2013 on up to FIVE devices of your choice.
The current version of Office 2013 includes: Word Publisher Excel Outlook PowerPoint Lync OneNote Infopath Access
Part 1: Password Self Service PWCS Student user IDs are formatted by using The first six characters of your last name Your first initial Your middle initial Last two digits of your graduation year Examples: Jane S. Johnson, Class of 2015 = johnsojs15 John D. Student, Class of 2016 = studenjd16 Frankie B. Cool, Class of 2017 = coolfb17
WARNING! Not all user ID s are formatted this way due to similar names within the PWCS school system. If you have trouble with your user ID, ask one of your teachers to look it up for you in their Outlook People section.
Student Passwords Your initial password for Office 365 is your birthday in Mmm-DD-YYYY format Examples: October 4, 1999 = Oct-04-1999 May 21, 2000 = May-21-2000 January 17, 1997 = Jan-17-1997
Part 1: Password Self Service BEFORE you can login to Office 365 for the first time, you MUST change your default password by logging into Password Self Service. Password Self Service can be accessed from any logged-in school computer
Password Self Serve: Password Requirements Minimum of 8 characters Maximum of 16 characters 1 upper case character 1 lower case character 1 number May not contain the words password or helpdesk May not contain your User ID, email address, first name or last name User name is your PWCS ID Default Password is your birthday: Mmm-DD-YYYY
When you login to Password Self Service the first time: You will be notified that your password has expired Click where indicated to change your password.
Challenge Questions Students must setup their challenge questions in a form similar to below using password self-serve when they first change their passwords. There are several questions to choose from but you must complete four (4) security questions including your student ID number.
Forgot Your Password? After you have set up your security questions, you have the ability to retrieve your own password if you forget it. Click the Need help? link. Proceed to click Forgot my Password and follow on screen prompts.
User ID in Password Self Service Once logged in to Password Self Service, your account information will be shown on the screen. Your Office 365 user ID will be displayed here. Take a few moments to note and record your user ID and your new password. It may take a few minutes for the new password to sync to Office 365.
Students Logging in to Office 365 Open Internet Explorer and type in http://office365.pwcs.edu or click on the Office 365 link on SJHS s Homepage under the student menu. Enter your email address and your NEW password. DO NOT select the Keep me signed in checkbox. This checkbox should be selected on personal devices only. Click on the Sign in button. Your email address is your user name + @pwcs-edu.org
Using Office 365 Once signed on, you can use the online versions of the Office products. You can also install Office 2013 on your home computer by clicking the Install now. Do not click Install now on a school computer since this will use one of your licenses. Click on the Outlook link. Set the language and time zone. Select English and Eastern Time zone (U.S. and Canada) and click Save. You are now ready to use your Office 365 account.
Using OneDrive Click on the OneDrive link OneDrive requires a few steps to set up your access. You may receive a message Give us a moment to set things up. The picture displayed may be different than shown here depending on your Internet browser.

Using OneDrive Your OneDrive opens to your Documents and enables you to create, store, and collaborate.
Using OneDrive Each student is asked to create a folder for each class and share that folder with his/her teacher. Click and select Folder. Name the folder using the following naming convention and click Save. P# Last Name, First Name, Subject Example: P1 Smith, Jamie English
Using OneDrive Share the folder. Mouse over the folder and click the checkmark in front of the folder. In the Share window you will invite your teacher to share your folder by entering his/her name where indicated. Change Can edit to Can View. It is optional to include a personal message. Click Share Now anything you create or upload to that folder, your teacher will be able to view. When you have completed creating your folders, click on the person icon in the upper right hand corner and sign out.
