If you submit an ad in PDF format please use the job options settings listed on pages 6 and 7. QuarkXpress to v 6.x If you intend to submit your ad in the native Quark format, be sure to include all the art and fonts (printer and screen fonts). Quark 5.0 + allows you to gather all necessary files by using the Collect for Output function. You may also submit your ad as an EPS (encapsulated Postscript) file. In this instance all font information must be embedded in the EPS file or fonts must be supplied with the file. This includes any embedded or nested art in the EPS file. InDesign to v.cs (v.3) The same rules apply here. Be sure to send all art and font information. You also can export your ad as an EPS (with fonts embedded) file or PDF directly out of InDesign. InDesign also allows you to preflight your ad before submitting to Newsday. Be sure to have all preferences and profiles set correctly. CorelDraw to v.11 You may submit your ad in native CorelDraw format (include all art and fonts). CorelDraw will gather all the necessary files by using the Prepare for Service Bureau function. CorelDraw allows you to export an EPS file while converting font information to outlines. This is similar to embedding all font information. CorelDraw also allows you to Publish to PDF file without leaving the application. See following screen grabs for those settings.
