1) What is the SES e-reader App? SES E-Reader App User Guide a. The SES e-reader app is free and gives you access to your SES Standards Engineering Journals, monthly newsletters, Conference programs, SES Standards and other content whether online or offline. The app has tools to help you access and navigate the content robust search inside each book, annotate with highlight text, audio and add bookmarks, or copy and paste text into your documents and presentations. 2) What kind of devices can run the SES e-reader App? The current 4 e-reader requirements are as follows: 1. Standard Reader for Android Tablet Android 4.4 and above 512MB of RAM 2. Standard Reader for Tablet ios iphone, ipad 2, ipad mini 2 or ipad air or later ios 8.0 or 9.0 or later 3. Standard Reader for Windows 8.1, or later (Tablet and Desktop) Windows 8.1 64 bits or 32 bits 4. Also available for Online Browsers Desktop Windows o Windows 7 or later Reader online (web) on Desktop Browser o Chrome 40+ or Firefox 40+ or Safari 9+ or IE 10+ Reader online (web) on tablet o IOS: Safari on IOS9 o Android: Android browser, Chrome 50 +, Firefox 46 + o Windows: same as desktop browser 2/11
3) How do I get the Apps on the various stores? a. In order to access the Free app, click on the links below or go to the store on your device, like the Windows store (or Play Store Android, App Store Apple) and search SES e-reader and then download the SES e-reader app. The App is also available via online Browser. click here for link https://jdp-ses.jouve.com/ b. After you have successfully downloaded the App. Below is what the App will look like on your device. Click the icon to open the App c. After you open the App, you will see the bookshelf screen below, click on the blue CONNECT button at the bottom. Type in the same user name and password that you use to access the SES member website 3/11
4) What is my user name and Password? a. You connect with the same username and password you use to connect to the SES website. If you do not know your user name and password, please contact admin@ses-standards.org. 5) After you sign in, you will see the library bookshelf with all the Journals and content you have access to. Click on the title you want to read and it will download to your device. 6) What content is available? a. Above is basic bookshelf. The collections are broken down by Public (Free), last read and updates i. You have free content which is public like SES Monthly Newsletter and Conference Program ii. SES members have access to the SES Standards Engineering Journal iii. Additional paid content is available like the SES Standards 1, 2 & 3. 7) What functions are available in the e-reader? a. When you click on a publication title you will see basic functions at top tab of the e-reader from left to right 4/11

9) How do I resize fonts to fit my device screen? a. The power of the SES e-reader is to resize the font to support your reading comfort and the reading disabilities Small font or Large font 6/11
10) How do I search a document? a. The e-reader s powerful search function allows you to type in the search term and the results of all locations of that word will be provided for fast access. 11) How do I make annotations and notes? a. highlight the section you want to annotate i. You can click on the Notes/Annotation button to view all prior annotations and bookmarks. 12) How do I delete a book from my device to free up memory? a. The e-reader downloads the book to your device. After you have read the document you may want to delete it from your device to free up space. All you do is click on the (+) sign and click delete. 9/11
13) How do I find support or where to go for help? a. The e-reader is intuitive and Support is there if ever needed, from the bookshelf you can click the Support button and it will link you to SES support for answers to your questions and comments. You can also send an email with your questions and comments to admin@ses-standards.org. b. When reading a title, you can click the top menu bar and there will be a settings option that will have a About link. 10/11
