Guide to Employee Self Service If you are unable to log into Employee Self Service please contact the Enterprise Service Desk at 260 451 6800 or email at enterpriseservicedesk@exelisinc.com

To Access Employee Self Service To access the Employee Self Service (ESS) application, go to the web site by typing https://ess.exelisinc.com/shcm/ in your web browser. Your User ID is your first initial of your legal First Name and entire Last Name (BOTH IN CAPS) plus the last 5 digits of your SSN (Example: JSMITH56789). Your initial Password is the exact same format as your User ID (STILL IN CAPS), but has a maximum of 10 characters (Example: JSMITH5678). If your particular password has less than 10 characters, you will only need to use what applies.

Registration You will need to register the first time you log in. If you have already registered, you will not see this screen. You will be prompted to change your password and to define answers for resetting a password. Please note that the SUBMIT button is now located at the top left of the page, the yellow arrows will correspond to this area.

Continuation of registration After submitting your preferences you will need to click the arrow at the top left to confirm your preferences and continue on to ESS. The yellow arrow corresponds to this area.

Welcome Screen/Main Menu Select one of the menu options at the top to get to desired area.

Personal Address Displays employee address information and allows you to change address or phone number, if needed. Please note that the SUBMIT button is now located at the top left of the page, the yellow arrow corresponds to this area.

Emergency Contact Displays emergency contacts and allows their adding, changing, or removal. The yellow arrow corresponds to this area.

Adding a new emergency contact To add a new contact click the Add button corresponds to this area. at the top left, the yellow arrow

Continuation of Adding an emergency contact Input emergency contact information and click submit button completed, the yellow arrow corresponds to this area. at top left when To change or remove an emergency contact please click the button next to the name of the contact you want changed or removed. Then click the submit button in the top left to complete the update.

Change Password To change your password, type your current password in the Old Password field. Then type your new password in the New Password field, and re-enter the New Password in the Confirm field. For the Reset Password Security Questions, please select a question and enter an answer for that question. Please note that answers are case sensitive. Pay History Select the button next to the paycheck you would like to view and press the arrow button at the top left, the yellow arrow corresponds to this area.

Prior Year Pay This shows a list of prior years summaries. To display the detailed summary, select the button next to the year and press the arrow button at the top left. The yellow arrow corresponds to this area.

Benefits (Not all Employee Self Service users will have the same options under Benefits tab, contact your local HR Rep. if you have questions.) My Benefits This displays benefits that you are currently enrolled in (Life Plus & Eyemed not included). Information can be reviewed by clicking on the My Benefits tab under Benefits. Please direct any benefits inquiries through your local HR Rep.

BenefitsWeb Links to outside website and will require a different login than your Employee Self Service account. (This is not applicable to all users)

Contact Used to email Enterprise Service Desk, or call 260-451-6800 ESS Guide Used to access this guide, also available at login screen. Sign-off Click Sign-off to log out of the Employee Self Service system. If no action is taken for more than 15 minutes, the sign-in times out and will return to the login page.
