3D Laser Scanning WebShare Cloud Basics
WebShare Cloud Instructions The purpose of this document is to walk you through the process of using WebShare Cloud if you have been invited to view information. The document will explain the following steps Logging in to the system Navigating to your project Using the Search functions Navigating around the project Switching between Colour & Greyscale Taking Measurements Adding Annotation Deleting Measurements & Annotations This will only cover the basics of the system so for more advanced information please contact us for further guidance.
Logging In https://maltbysurveys.websharecloud.com (depending on the selected feature project you will presented with the below) Click on the arrow as shown above and Login
Locating Projects When you have logged in you will notice the icon is now yellow We will have given you a project name so start to type the name in the Find Project dialog box or just scroll through (all other projects are public yours will only be seen by you unless you have requested it be made public, in which case you don t need to login) As you type your project should appear (if it doesn t contact maltbysurveys) To access the project click on the yellow folder icon as highlighted above
Accessing Scans You will now be presented with something similar to the below The colour teardrop shapes indicate scan positions (notice colour refers to height variation, see key at the bottom) The numbers in green are grouped scans, as you zoom in (wheel mouse) these will split out in to individual scans To access any scan click on the icon and choose the top Show in Panorama View
The chosen view will then be opened Navigation To rotate use your left mouse button To zoom in use your wheel mouse You will also notice the compass rotating at the bottom of the screen If you want to jump to the next scan position click on the relevant teardrop shape and repeat the action on the previous page of clicking on the Show in Panorama View. Alternatively you can return to the Overview Map at anytime by selecting on the right
Toggling Colour Your scan will probably have been uploaded with Colour and Greyscale which you can toggle between for clarity Click on the icon in the bottom left have corner of the screen In here the blue icons are toggle switches for onscreen items like scan positions, measurements, annotations and compass position, clicking on them will turn off these features Click on the Toggle Colour Mode icon and this will turn your scan to greyscale. Click again on the icon to reveal the colour blend bar, clicking on the colour icon will add more colour and clicking on the greyscale icon will revert this. This feature is useful when taking measurements in overexposed areas When finished click on the icon again to close the dialog
Measurements To take measurements locate the relevant view, in this example I want to know the measurement between the windows Click on the Measurement tool Click on two points on the image where you want the Measurement Enter a name for your Measurement Ignore Categories & Tags for now these will be covered in a more advanced document Click OK and the measurement will be placed on the screen
Annotations You can also place Annotations for other project members to view Select Annotate Click a point on the image where you want to add the Annotation Fill in your Annotation Name and Annotation Description (again more options are available here which will be covered in a more advanced document) Click OK The Annotation will now be shown, clicking on it will give you a series of options, one of which is to share the Annotation Clicking on this will allow you to share the Annotation with either the Creator or Everyone and their level of read / write access.
Deleting Elements If you have placed a series of Measurements or Annotations on the images then you might want to delete them Select Delete Click on the Measurement or Annotation which will highlight it blue and will also add it to the Selected Measurements on the right, then click OK Alternatively click relevant Measurement or Annotation and choose the Delete option follows by
