The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Prepare for the Installation. 10 mm Socket, Ratchet Battery Negative battery cable NOTE: Engage the parking brake while working. NOTE: Wait 90 seconds or more after disconnecting the negative lead before disconnecting a yellow connector for the SRS airbag. (a) Remove the negative battery cable (Fig. 1-1). (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing the cable. (b) Verify that the kit contents are complete. Fig. 1-1 Page 3 of 22 pages

2. Disassemble the Vehicle. NOTE: Place all removed parts on a protected surface. NOTE: When disconnecting wiring connectors, do not pull on the wiring, pull on the connector only. (a) Remove the instrument panel meter ornament. (1) Adjust the steering wheel to the lowest position for easy access to the panel. (2) Manually pull the panel forward to disengage all seven clips (Fig. 2-1). (3) Remove the panel. Fig. 2-1 (b) Remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish sub-assembly (Fig. 2-2). (1) Manually pull the panel forward to disengage all thirteen (13) clips. Fig. 2-2 HINT: Open the front passenger door and grab the panel at the RH end to disengage the clips in that area first. Clips (x3) Clips (x4) (2) Remove the panel. (c) Remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly (Fig. 2-3). (1) Disengage the seven (7) clips. PPO Disassembly (For DIO installations, jump to DIO Disassembly ). Phillips Screwdriver (or 8mm socket wrench) Stereo opening cover (d) Remove the stereo opening cover (Fig. 2-4). (1) Remove the four (4) bolts and stereo opening cover. (2) Retain the four (4) bolts for installation. Phillips Screwdriver Screws (x4) (f) Remove the four (4) screws securing the left hand bracket and remove the bracket from the cover (Fig. 2-7). (g) Discard the audio opening cover and keep the screws and brackets for the next steps. Fig. 2-7 Connector holder (h) Remove the connector holder from the left hand bracket (Fig. 2-8). DIO Disassembly Phillips Screwdriver (or 8mm socket wrench) DA Radio (k) Remove the DA radio (Fig. 2-10). (1) Remove the four (4) bolts and the DA Radio. Bolts (x2) Bolts (x2) Fig. 2-10 Screw (x4) (l) Remove the four (4) screws from each side of the DA radio (Fig. 2-11 & Fig. 2-12). (m) Save the DA radio, brackets and eight (8) screws for later use. 3. Install the GPS Antenna. (a) Remove the GPS plate (Fig. 3-1) from the parts bag kit. NOTE: Before attaching the GPS plate, clean the mounting surface with VDC approved cleaner. Fig. 3-1 (b) Remove the paper off the back of the GPS plate to expose the adhesive backing (Fig.3-2). Fig. 3-2 Page 8 of 22 pages

c c (c) Secure the GPS plate into the mounting position above the passenger glove box (Fig. 3-3 & Fig. 3-4). (d) Remove the GPS antenna from the kit bag. Fig. 3-3 b GPS Plate b (e) Route the GPS antenna from the audio unit opening to the GPS plate. The antenna will magnetically attach to the plate (Fig. 3-3 & Fig. 3-4). (g) Align and secure the GPS wire to the USB cable. (1) Align the GPS antenna connector to the USB connector. Electrical tape (2) Secure the GPS wire to the USB cable at two locations: One at the base of the USB cable branch and another half way between the USB cable branch to the USB connector (Fig. 3-6). Fig. 3-6 GPS & USB connectors aligned (h) Bundle and secure the extra length of the GPS antenna wire. Bundle and secure the wire to the support bar (1) Use a wire tie (x1) to secure the GPS antenna wire to the radio antenna wire (Fig. 3-7). (2) Use two (2) wire ties to secure the bundled GPS antenna wire to the support bar (Fig. 3-7). Secure the wire to the radio antenna lead Fig. 3-7 Page 10 of 22 pages

4. Assemble the Display Audio and Extension Module. Extension Module (a) Lay the Display Audio (DA) radio on a flat surface with the bottom facing upward (Fig. 4-1). (b) Place the Extension Module on the bottom of the DA radio (Fig. 4-1). (c) Remove the break-away tape from the Bluetooth cable harness Fig. 4-1 DA radio BT wire harness connector (d) Plug the Bluetooth antenna wire harness into the connector on the DA radio (Fig. 4-1). NOTE: Make sure both ends of the harness are securely seated between the Extension Module and the DA radio. Extension brackets, LH & RH (P/N: 86212-0D140, 86211-0D140) (e) For the next step you will need the Extension Brackets (LH and RH) (P/N: 86212-0D140, 86211-0D140) (Fig. 4-2). Align the Extension Bracket (RH) with the mounting screw holes and fasten the bracket with three (3) screws (Fig. 4-3). NOTE: Make sure the Extension Module is flat against the DA radio before tightening the screws. (g) Turn the DA radio and Extension Module assembly over. Page 11 of 22 pages

Fig. 4-4 Screwdriver Screwdriver Radio TOP M5x8 Screws (3) (h) Align the Extension Bracket (LH) to the mounting screw holes and fasten the bracket with three (3) screws (Fig. 4-4). NOTE: Make sure the Extension Module is flat against the DA radio before tightening the screws. (i) Place the radio back on the side with the fan facing upward. (j) Mount the RH radio bracket, removed in Step 2(e) (DIO) or 2(l) (PPO) to the radio. Fasten the bracket with four (4) screws (Fig. 4-5). (k) Mount the LH radio bracket to the other side of the radio using four (4) screws. Fig. 4-5 M5x8 Screws (4) Extension Module 32 pin connector DA 12 pin connector (l) Obtain the Extension Module/DA interface wire harness, which is included in the Extension Module kit (Fig. 4-6). 5. Install the Receiver Assembly Radio Unit (wire harness connections). NO CONNECTIONS 16 Pin (a) Connect the radio antenna cable, 28 Pin, 6 Pin, and 10 pin harness connector cables to the DA radio (Fig. 5-1 & Fig. 5-2). (b) Connect the USB cable and GPS antenna cable to the extension module (Fig. 5-1 and Fig. 5-2). USB GPS Fig. 5-1 USB 10 Pin 6 Pin 28 Pin Radio antenna Do not connect the USB cable to the DA radio. The USB cable must be connected to the extension module (Fig. 5-1). No harness connection should be made to the 16 pin connector (Fig. 5-1). 6. Install the Receiver Assembly Radio Unit (vehicle mounting). (a) Insert the radio into the dashboard opening. Screwdriver (b) Fasten the audio unit with the four bolts removed in Step 2(d) (PPO) or 2(k) (DIO) (Fig. 6-1 & Fig. 6-2). 7. Perform a Map Function Test. (a) Temporarily reconnect the negative battery cable. Fig. 6-1 (b) Turn the ignition key to ACC and turn the audio unit ON. Screwdriver Fig. 6-2 Page 14 of 22 pages

(c) Press the APPS hard key (H/K) (Fig. 7-1). Fig. 7-1 Press Apps H/K WARNING: If you are presented with the screen in Fig. 7-2, temporarily disconnect the battery cable and check the connection beginning at Step 4(m) (Fig. 4-7). Once the connections are verified, proceed to Map Trouble Shooting on the next page. Premium Audio with Navigation System is not installed Fig. 7-2 (d) Press Map in the Application menu (Fig. 7-3). Fig. 7-3 Fig. 7-4 Press Confirm button (e) Press the Confirm button on the DA touch screen (Fig. 7-4). NOTE: This screen automatically goes away after 5 seconds if the Confirm button is not pressed and will then take you to the map screen (Fig. 7-5). Page 15 of 22 pages

Map Screen (f) Confirm the map screen is displayed (Fig. 7-5). (1) If so, skip to Step 8, USB Function Test. Fig. 7-5 (2) If not, proceed to Map Trouble Shooting. Map Trouble Shooting (1) If you are presented with the screen shown (Fig. 7-6) and the extension module has been properly installed, perform the following procedure. Premium Audio with Navigation System is not installed Fig. 7-6 (2) While pressing and holding the Audio H/K (Fig. 7-7), switch ON and OFF the headlights three consecutive times in quick succession. ON>OFF>ON>OFF>ON>OFF Fig. 7-7 Fig. 7-8 Press and Hold Audio H/K Service Menu Screen Press and Hold Setup H/K (3) The Service Menu screen will appear. (Fig. 7-8). (4) If the Service Menu screen does not appear, repeat steps 1 and 2. (5) With the Service Menu screen shown, press and hold the SETUP H/K (Fig. 7-8). Wait for the radio to restart, then release SETUP H/K. (6) Turn Acc OFF. (7) Turn Acc ON. (8) Go back and repeat the Map Function Test. Page 16 of 22 pages

8. Perform a USB Function Test. (a) Connect the USB flash drive media to the vehicle s USB/AUX connector in the center console (Fig. 8-1). NOTE: The screen may go to USB mode automatically and start playing music. If so, skip to Step 8(d). Fig. 8-1 (b) Press the "Source" button on the touch screen (Fig. 5-2). NOTE: You may need to press the AUDIO hard key first. Fig. 8-2 Source button (c) Select the USB mode (Fig 8-3). (d) Confirm a song plays. (e) Remove the flash drive from the USB connector. Fig. 8-3 USB button 9. Perform a Radio Antenna check. (a) Press the Source button (Fig 9-1). NOTE: You may need to press the AUDIO hard key first. Fig. 9-1 Source button Page 17 of 22 pages

(b) Press the FM source select button (Fig. 9-2). Fig. 9-2 FM button (c) Press the SEEK/TRACK Up H/K button (Fig. 9-3). Confirm that the radio tunes to a FM radio station and sound is heard. Fig. 9-3 Fig. 9-4 SEEK/TRACK UP H/K button Press and Hold Audio H/K NOTE: To perform the following function tests, you will need to enter the DA Service Menu (Fig. 9-5). To access the Service Menu, do the following. (1) Turn ACC ON. (2) Once the DA radio is powered on, press and hold the Audio hard key (Fig. 9-4). (3) While holding the Audio H/K, switch ON and OFF the headlights three consecutive times in quick succession. ON>OFF>ON>OFF>ON>OFF (4) The Service Menu screen will appear (Fig. 9-5). (5) If the Service Menu screen does not appear, repeat steps 2 and 3. Fig. 9-5 Service Menu Screen Page 18 of 22 pages

10. Perform a GPS Antenna and Bluetooth Antenna check. (a) Press the Function Check/Setting button (Fig. 10-1). (d) Turn the ignition key to OFF. (e) Disconnect the negative battery cable. 12. Complete the installation. (a) Reassemble the vehicle. (1) Reconnect the disconnected electrical connector (Fig. 12-1) then reinstall the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly around the radio. (2) Reinstall the instrument cluster finish panel garnish sub-assembly. Fig. 12-1 NOTE: Open the front passenger door to aid the insertion of the right part of the panel. (3) Reinstall the instrument panel meter ornament. Fig. 12-2 10 mm Socket, Torque Wrench Battery Negative battery cable (b) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (c) Clean up and remove any trash. (d) Reconnect the vehicle s negative battery cable (Fig. 12-2). (1) Position the negative cable at the original factory position. (2) Tighten the nut to 48 in lbf (5.4 N m). Torque: 48 in lbf (5.4 N m) (3) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when replacing the cable. (e) Perform the functional checks.
