Allworx System Administrator Information To experience all Mobile Link for Android features, the Mobile Link feature key must be installed on the Allworx server. Without this key, users can only view and change their presence. Configuring Mobile Link for Android with the Allworx server The Allworx server must be accessible from the iphone s network connection. If the Allworx server is in any NAT/Firewall mode and if the connection from iallworx to the Internet is through the Allworx WAN port, the following network settings on the Mobile Link for Android Preference activity must match those for the Allworx server: Allworx Server public (WAN) address or domain name Mobile Link (AMDS) Port Number (default: 8081) IMAP Port Number (default: 143) SMTP (Voicemail) Port Number (default: 25) The default port settings on the Preference activity are the same as the default port setting on Allworx servers. If the Allworx server is in NAT/Firewall mode and if IMAP and SMTP are set to non-standard ports, these ports will be blocked by the Allworx server firewall. To open these ports, the System Administrator must: 1. From the Admin page, navigate to Network / Configuration 2. Select the modify link 3. Under the Firewall section, enter the port number to open in the WAN Port # and LAN Port # fields 4. Leave the Protocol as TCP 5. Enter the server s WAN IP Address in the IP Address field 6. Save these changes and reboot the Allworx Server To open these ports on an Allworx server in LAN Host mode, the System Administrator must configure whatever external firewalls are in place between the server s LAN and the Internet to forward connections on all of the ports listed above to the Allworx server. Alternative port numbers may be used as long as the same port numbers are used on both iallworx and the Allworx server. Note: Current Allworx server releases support a maximum of 16 simultaneous IMAP connections, so that is the maximum number of Mobile Link clients as well. Future server releases will raise this limit. Changing the Corporate Logo From the Connection Status activity you can also perform the following less-frequent operations by pressing the Menu key: Upload Corporate Logo (only available if you are administrator for your Allworx system). Refresh Corporate Logo (if you are in a hurry to see the new logo your administrator just uploaded) The corporate logo uploaded to your Allworx server will appear on the connection status activity of that server s Mobile Link client apps. 2/6/12 Page 10
