Browser Software Technical support is available for all supported browsers, but Qvidian does not fix defects related to older versions. Browser Improved Drag and Drop Library Projects Technical Support Defect Fix Microsoft Edge (32-bit & 64-bit) Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 (32-bit & 64-bit) Mozilla Firefox Current version (32-bit & 64-bit; production releases only) One release prior to current release (32-bit & 64-bit; production releases only) Google Chrome Current version and one release one prior (32-bit & 64-bit; production releases only) One release prior to current (32-bit & 64-bit; production releases only) Apple Safari 10.0.1 or higher Required Microsoft Internet Explorer Configuration If using a Pop-up Blocker, configure it to allow pop-ups from the Qvidian URL. For Qvidian Library s multiple files upload to be operational, it may be necessary to install Microsoft Silverlight Plug-in or Adobe Flash Player Plug-in. Qvidian Proposal Automation System Requirements 2

Configure Internet Options Security with custom security level for the appropriate security zone, typically Trusted Sites, based on the default Medium security level, then, update as follows: Add https://qpalogin.qvidian.com, https://qpa.qvidian.com, and https://training.qvidian.com to your Trusted Sites. Within the Downloads section, enable Automatic prompting for file downloads. Within the Miscellaneous section, enable Include local directory path when uploading files to server. Within the Scripting section, enable Active scripting. For Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations, within the User Authentication Logon section, enable Automatic logon with current user name and password. Configure Advanced settings as follows: For SSL (HTTPS) configured Qvidian sites, within the Security section, disable Do not save encrypted pages to disk. To use Qvidian s full Microsoft Office automation and integration features using automated Qvidian add-ins, including downloads, save to clipboard, automated content editing, and exporting, the Internet Explorer configuration settings below are also required. Under Internet Options > Security configure the Qvidian web site URL specified as a Trusted Site. Under Internet Options > Security configure the custom security level for the Trusted Sites zone based on the required Internet Explorer configuration settings defined above, then, further update the following: Security level updates as defined above in the required Internet Explorer configuration settings. Within the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section, enable Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting. Required Microsoft Edge Configuration Allow pop-ups from Qvidian by selecting Always Allow when prompted the first time Qvidian attempts to open a pop-up window or disable Block pop-ups setting. Required Firefox and Chrome Configuration Disable Block pop-up windows setting or configure exceptions for the Qvidian URL. For Qvidian Library s multiple files upload to be operational, it may be necessary to install Microsoft Silverlight or Adobe Flash Player Plug-in. Without these settings, Qvidian functions are still available but are not automated and typically will require user intervention to operate. For example, a user may have to manually select Download Add-Ins from the Settings drop-down menu option, or respond to Internet Explorer dialog prompts to open or save a file. Qvidian Proposal Automation System Requirements 3

Required Safari Configuration Disable Block pop-up windows setting. Client Installation Internet Explorer browser configuration, detailed previously, requires administrative rights on the Client PC. There is no client-side software installation required and no Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or ActiveX components required. Qvidian leverages Qvidian add-ins for Microsoft Office containing VBA scripting to achieve Office applications automation. The Qvidian add-in toolbars can be downloaded by selecting Download Add-Ins from the Settings dropdown menu option in the QPA interface. Additionally, customers may automate this download process using client software management tools. Qvidian Add-ins Requirements To use certain features in QPA, Microsoft Windows users must install the Qvidian add-ins for Microsoft Office that add a Qvidian tab to Word, PowerPoint and Excel toolbars. The add-ins are required to be able to perform the following actions: Features that require add-ins Editing documents in the library using the Quick Edit or Edit Individually functions. Applying Word style templates stored in QPA to content. Bulk loading Working with RFPs in created documents. Editing content records or other files in Structured Content, Agenda Slide, and Dynamic Slide components in document types on Architecture tab. Inserting merge codes from a list of existing merge codes in QPA into Word documents, PowerPoint slides, or Excel spreadsheets. Alternative methods Additional editing options, such as dragging and dropping a zip file, or uploading a new revision, are available to users without add-ins. Apply locally stored templates using Microsoft functionality. Manually separate questions and answers into individual documents and upload them to the library. Create RFPs in projects. There are no alternatives at this time. Manually type in merge codes. We recommend add-ins for Content Managers, because it can reduce the time it takes them to create, update, and edit content, and Document Architects because it offers them the option to include Structured Content, Agenda Slide, and Dynamic Slide components in document types. RFP and proposal writers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) typically do not need to download the add-ins. These users normally perform the following actions in QPA: Qvidian Proposal Automation System Requirements 4

Build proactive Word documents and PowerPoint presentations. Answer RFP questions inline, using the HTML editor, in created documents. Manage and work in projects, including uploading files and answering RFP questions. Search for and use content, including copying content to the clipboard from the preview screen and pasting it into other documents and applications, downloading library records to the user s computer, and generating content URLs. Submit new content to the library, provide general and content feedback. Work with Word or PowerPoint content assigned to them by Content Administrators via the Send to SME or Assign Review Job features. Work on RFP answers emailed to them by RFP file owners from Created Documents (not using the Assign Question function). As an SME, edit content on the SME Edit screen. For detailed directions to download the Qvidian add-ins for Microsoft Office and to configure your desktop, refer to the Qvidian QPA Browser and Microsoft Word Configuration Guide. Note If ActiveX is enabled and if the add-ins are not previously downloaded, you will be prompted to download them when you start to perform any of the actions listed above in Word, Excel, or Power- Point. The prompt will only appear if ActiveX has been enabled.
