University Information Technology Services Learning Technologies, Training & Audiovisual Outreach Connecting to KSUGuest WiFi on Windows 8.1 The following guide walks you through connecting to the KSUGuest WiFi using a Windows 8.1 device. Note: To connect to the KSUGuest WiFi, you will need to create an account to gain access. To receive Guest Account Credentials, you must have a device that is already connected to the Internet in order to access your email account. Alternatively, you may use a phone that can receive SMS text messages to receive access information. Note: Once an account is created, the guest account credentials can be used on multiple devices and will be available for 12 hours. An expiration email will be sent to you 10 minutes before the 12 hours has passed. When it has passed, you will have to restart the process and create another account. The same name and email you used before can be used again. Creating an Account and Sign on to KSUGuest WiFi 1. To access the Wireless Network, click the wireless network icon on the Taskbar of your device. 2. Click KSUGuest (See Figure 2). 3. Click to select the checkbox next to Connect automatically (See Figure 3). 4. Click Connect (See Figure 3). Figure 3 - Connect to KSUGuest 5. A web browser will open and display the KSU Guest WiFi - Sign On page, click Don t have an account? Figure 4 - Don't have an account? Page 2 of 9

6. The KSU Guest WiFi - Create Account page will open, enter the following: a. Enter your First name (See Figure 5). b. Enter your Last name (See Figure 5). c. Enter an Email address (See Figure 5). d. Enter your preferred Phone Number. This will allow you to receive a text message with authentication information (See Figure 5). e. Select Kennesaw Campus or Marietta Campus for your location (See Figure 5). f. Select your SMS provider to receive a text message with authentication information (See Figure 5). 7. Click to select the checkbox next to I agree to the terms and conditions (See Figure 5). 8. Click Register (See Figure 5). Figure 5 Register Note: If your SMS provider is not listed, you may select the Global Default option and bypass receiving a text message. You will receive an email with your username and password at the email address you provided. Page 3 of 9

9. An email and text message will been sent to you containing your authentication credentials. Open the email Your Guest Account Credentials (See Figure 6). Note: You must have a device that is already connected to the Internet to access the email account you used to register. If you do not have a device already connected to the internet, you may open the SMS message sent to your phone via text. 10. Look for and remember the following in the Email: a. Username (See Figure 6). Note: The username may be slightly different and have a number at the end of the email address. b. Password (See Figure 6). Note: The password is a temporary password and after you login, you will be asked to change it. Figure 6 - Your Guest Account Credentials Page 4 of 9

11. On the KSU Guest WiFi - Sign On page, enter the following: a. Enter the Username from the Email or SMS message (See Figure 7). b. Enter the Password from the Email or SMS message (See Figure 7). c. Click to select the checkbox next to I agree to the terms and conditions (See Figure 7). 12. Click Sign On (See Figure 7). 13. The KSU Guest WiFi - Change Password page will open, enter the following: a. Enter the Current password from the Email (See Figure 8). b. Enter a New password (See Figure 8). c. Enter the same password from New Password into Confirm password (See Figure 8). 14. Click Submit (See Figure 8). Note: If you forget your New password, you will have to restart the process and create another account. The same name and email you used before can be used again. 15. You are now signed in to the KSUGuest WiFi. Figure 8 - Change Password Page 6 of 9
