1. Introduction 1.1 About Novo Interactive Tools Novo Interactive Tools (NIT) is a software application suite that turns your Vivitek interactive white board (IWB) devices into a powerful, fully integrated interactive digital presentation system. From classrooms to conference rooms, NIT helps you deliver dynamic presentations to students, prospective clients, or co-workers. With NIT software, you can display documents, access web pages, and play video on a projection screen that responds to the touch of your fingers or pens. The Supported Vivitek IWB devices include the following: - NovoBoard - Interactive projectors - Virtual interactive white boards NIT is composed of two components, NovoTeach and NovoScreenote. NovoTeach allows you to - Deliver presentations with either regular presentation materials or pre-designed interactive presentation materials using Vivitek IWB devices - Create, design, and organize elements into an interactive presentation and save all components into a convenient file package, with a vtk extension. NovoScreenote allows you to - Directly annotate, on desktop screen, on files or objects being displayed, unobtrusive to applications currently running - Save, print, and email these annotations You can use the NIT software with or without the Vivitek IWB devices to prepare an integrated, highly dynamic, and interactive presentation material. With the many features provided, the NIT software helps you raise the level of participation in group discussions, design review meetings, brainstorming sessions, and sales demonstrations. Together with Vivitek IWB devices, NIT is the perfect solution for more effective teaching, meetings, general presentations, and team oriented collaboration. 2. Installing Novo Interactive Tools 2.1 Installing NIT on your PC The installation wizard guides you through the NIT setup process on your computer. To start the installation, follow these steps: 1. Insert NIT CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the NIT Installer icon and follow the screen prompts. 3. Select your preferred language. Click OK to proceed. 4. Close all other applications and click Next to proceed. - 6 -
5. Read the license agreement and select Accept then click Next to proceed. 6. Select installation components then click Next to proceed. Note: Microsoft Office files (PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, DOC, and DOCX) are supported via file import - 7 -
feature which relies on component OpenOffice. If you choose not to install this component now, you may install it later. Its latest version is available at: http://www.openoffice.org/download. 7. Select the destination folder then click Next to proceed. 8. Select the Start Menu folder where you'd like to create the Novo Interactive Tools shortcut. Then click Install to proceed. - 8 -

Once you are done with the setup and you select to create desktop shortcut, you should see the following icons on your desktop: and. 2.2 Activating Novo Interactive Tools Once Novo Interactive Tools is installed, you can activate the software by entering a license key available on the cover of the Novo Interactive Tools CD or through your local distributor. Note: Before you enter the license key, make sure the computer is connected to the Internet. To activate the software: 1. Click the Novo Interactive Tools shortcut or navigate to Start >> All Programs >> Novo Interactive Tools 2. In the Novo Interactive Tools activation screen, select Enter a License Key and input your license key in the text box. - 10 -
3. Click Continue to start the software activation. 2.3 Software Update NIT has built-in software update mechanism, which can be initiated from the Settings dialog. Note: Before you update the NIT software, make sure the computer is connected to the Internet. To check if you have the latest version, please follow these steps: 1. Click and select Settings. 2. Click the About button to show the About Novo Interactive Tools dialog. 3. Click the Check Update button to check for software updates. 4. If there is an update available, follow the instructions in the Updates dialog to proceed. 5. If you already have the latest version of the software, click OK to close the Updates dialog. Click OK again on the About dialog to close it and return to the main screen. - 11 -
3. Trouble Shooting If you experience a problem with NovoTeach, please refer to the following information. After NovoTeach is launched, it only shows a white screen and could not perform any operation. NovoTeach is based on Adobe s Flash technology. Please make sure Adobe Flash Player is installed in your system. If not, please re-install NovoTeach or visit Adobe s website (www.adobe.com) to download the Flash Player I can t activate my software license and NovoTeach fails to run. Please check the followings Verify you have input the proper license key; Make sure you are connected to Internet by browsing a public website, such as www.google.com. If you can t connect to any public websites, you might check your network connection or network proxy configuration. - 12 -
