GETTING STARTED You will be contacted within 48 business hours to schedule a welcome call, where an XactSite product expert will walk you through setting up your XactSite Premium Website. In addition, you can click Help at the top of your Control Panel to access the User Guide. Note: make sure you sign up for a training class for the XactSite website products, not the XactSite IDX products. SETTING UP A CUSTOM DOMAIN If you have a custom domain (www.yourname.com) you would like to use for your XactSite Select web site, please contact the MRIS Support Center. They will need to give you the nameserver information and find out what your custom domain is so that it can be assigned to your XactSite website. Note: if you have an email address associated with your custom domain, please let the MRIS Support Center know. They will need to get the MX records for your email address. LOG IN TO YOUR WEBSITE You will manage your website through your administration page. To log in to the Administration section of your XactSite Select web site: 1. Go to http://mris.fnistools.com 2. Enter the Login Name and Password in the welcome email you received after signing up for XactSite Select. 3. Click Login 2
CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD When you first access the system, your password is set to a default. For security reasons, please change your password to something that you can easily remember. To change your password: 1. Log into your web site administration site. 2. In the left navigation panel click Tools, then Change Password. The Change Password screen appears. 3. In New Password, type in your new password. 4. In New Password Confirmation, retype your password exactly as you typed it in the New Password box. 5. Click Change Password. 6. If your password was changed, you will receive the message Your Password was updated successfully! PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS When you re choosing your new password, please keep the following in mind: Passwords are case sensitive Must be between 4 and 16 characters long Must NOT contain spaces Must NOT contain any of these characters: &, <, and > May be a combination of letters, numbers, and punctuation 3
YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION Once you have signed in to your administration page, make sure that the information contained in your personal profile is correct. To access your personal profile: 1. In the left navigation menu, click on My Profile. The User Summary Information screen appears. 2. Verify the accuracy of the information. 3. To make changes, click Edit. The User Personal Information screen appears. Some information in this section will not be editable as it is populated directly from MRIS. To update, please log in to www.mris.com and click on My Account. Always click Submit at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS The email address that you have on file with MRIS is the default address to which emails are forwarded through your website. It s a good idea to verify that the Primary Email information is correct so that you can immediately start receiving leads generated by your website. If this email address is incorrect, please log in to www.mris.com and click My Account to update your email address. VERIFY YOUR PHONE NUMBER(S) You ll need to verify your phone numbers and enter any alternate numbers you want to display on your website. If the phone numbers you have on file with MRIS are incorrect, please log in to www.mris.com and click My Account to update your phone numbers. 4

CONTACT INFORMATION DISPLAY OPTIONS You can decide what contact information is displayed on your website. On your website administration page, in the left navigation panel, select My Website, then Configuration. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the Other Settings section, and click on Edit to the right of Contact Information: In Contact Information, make the following selections: In Marketing (Display) Name, enter your name as you want it to appear on your web site home page. In Preferred Phone, select the phone number you want displayed under your name on every page of your website. In Display Email, select the email address you want displayed on your website home page. If you want email sent to an address other than the displayed email, make the selection in Destination Email. Check the items you want displayed on your website home page under Item to Display. Always click Submit at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. 5
UPLOAD YOUR AGENT PHOTO To have your photo display on your XactSite Office Website, follow these steps: 1. log into www.mris.com 2. Click on My Account under Quick Links 3. Click on Upload your headshot to HomesDatabase.com. These photos display on HomesDatabase.com as well as the XactSite website products. UPLOAD YOUR COMPANY LOGO Unlike your photo, your logo is required. To upload your logo, follow these steps: Uploading Company Logo: The Broker of Record for your office can upload a logo with the steps below: 1. log into www.mris.com 2. Click on My Account under Quick Links 3. Click on Upload your logo to HomesDatabase.com. These logos display on HomesDatabase.com as well as the XactSite Website products. Or you can upload your company logo in the Website control panel. If the broker later uploads a company logo in My Account, it will overwrite the logo that the agent uploaded in the Website control panel. If the Broker of Record has not uploaded a company logo, the agent can upload the logo by following these steps: 1. Log into the website control panel 2. Click on My Website in the menu on the left 3. Click on Configuration 4. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the Image Settings section. 5. Click on Edit to the right of Logo. 6. The Select Logo box will appear. 7. Click the Browse button to select the logo on your computer. 8. Click on Upload. 9. You should see the logo you just uploaded. If you have uploaded multiple logos, use the left and right arrow buttons to select the logo you want to display on your site. 10. Click Submit You should now see the new logo displayed on your website. 6
CHOOSE YOUR WEBSITE DESIGN There are a number of website designs templates you can choose from. All XactSite websites are set up with the same default template, so it s a good idea to look at the other template options to see if you want to change your site template designs. To choose your design: 1. On the left navigation menu, select My Website, and then click on Configuration. 2. On the Design tab, scroll down to the Design Settings section and click on Edit to the right of Design. 3. The Design Group reflects the XactSite package you are subscribed to. 4. Use the left and right arrows to scroll between the thumbnail views of the available designs. 5. When you find the design you want to use, click Submit. 6. You should now see the new design on your website. BANNER IMAGE To upload a custom banner 1. Click on My Website and Configuration. 2. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the Image Settings section and click Edit to the right of Banner. 3. Click the Browse on the Banner Image box that opens select a picture you wish to use as your banner. Note the image file size and type recommendations. 4. Click Upload to upload the image. 5. Click Submit to save the change. 7
To select a different banner 1. Use the left and right arrows to scroll through the banner images. 2. Once you have found the banner image you want to use, click Submit. CHANGE VIEWPORT IMAGE Some designs allow you to change the Website Viewport Image. To do so: 1. Click on My Website and Configuration. 2. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the Image Settings section and click Edit to the right of Viewport Image. 3. Click the Browse on the Select Viewport Image box that opens to select an image from your computer that you wish to use as your banner. 4. Once you have found the image you want to use, click Upload 5. Click Submit to save the change. CUSTOMIZE YOUR HOMEPAGE MESSAGE All XactSite websites are set up with the same default home page text, so take a few minutes to customize the text on your home page. To customize your home page welcome message: 1. On the left navigation menu, select My Website, then click on Website Pages. 2. Click on the name of the page you want to edit for example, My Homepage. The Home Page Edit screen appears. 3. In Content Editor, type your welcome message. 4. Click Preview to see how your message looks on your website. 5. Click Publish to publish the changes on your website. 8
ADD A CUSTOM PAGE You can add custom pages to your website. With XactSite Total, you can add 20 custom pages. For each new contact page you add, a link is added and displayed in your website s left navigation menu. To add a new content page: 1. On your website administration page, in the left navigation panel, select My Website, then click on Website Pages. 2. In the Website Content section, click Add New Content. The Article Edit screen appears. 3. In Left Navigation Title enter the name of the new content page as it will appear in the left navigation menu on your website. 4. (Optional) In Left Navigation Alt Text, enter the text your website visitors will see in the pop-up when they point to the link in the left navigation menu. 5. In Browser Title, enter the information to display in the internet browser title bar when a visitor to your website lands on the new content page. 6. In Sequence, enter the number that corresponds to the order in which the link to this page will appear in your website s left navigation menu. 7. Check Display this page if you want the page to be available on your website. Unchecking the box will prevent the page from displaying on your website. For example, you have a 9
page regarding an annual event that you want to display for a limited time each year. Rather than recreating the page each year, check the box when you want the page to appear and then uncheck it after the annual event is over. 8. In Select a Content Type, choose the type of content you want to display on the page: text, an external link, or an internal link. 9. Select Enter Content to use the content editor to display text. 10. Click Publish to publish the page on your website. ENTER KEYWORDS FOR SPECIFIC SITE PAGES To help your web site appear in search results when people search for real estate or real estate information, add keywords to each of your content pages. These are words used by search engines such as Google and Yahoo to catalogue your website. When a user types any of the keywords you have entered in a search engine browser, your website will be displayed among the search results. 1. In Search Engine Keywords, enter multiple keywords separated by commas. 2. In Search Engine Description, enter a short summary of the content of the page. This summary will display in the search engine results. 10
