XNet[2] Netwrk mnitring screen A new set f screens has been added in Shift-F4 t enable mre accurate mnitring f the SDTI netwrk status. Infrmatin displayed All the machines are displayed in the lgical cnnectin rder: i.e., the way they are effectively cnnected n the netwrk. Fr each machine, the display shws: The net number + name The serial number The main netwrk cnfiguratin setting (server, master, r client). The backgrund clur f the machine means: Blue: effective server Grey: nt currently server The clur f the text indicates the vide netwrk verlad (based n hw many SDTI netwrk mailbxes are used): White: k, less than 90% capacity Red (ver 90%): risk f netwrk verlad. The clur f the link indicates the physical link status between tw machines: green: OK red: errrs Pressing the Space bar pauses r restarts the mnitring. Pressing [Enter] resets the cunters. Pressing [->] displays a new screen with the infrmatin f the list f machines with errr cunters infrmatin. Ideally there shuld be n errrs shwn here, but practically until the whle netwrk is cnfigured and cnnected errrs will be lgged. Once the whle Netwrk is Setup and running, the cunters shuld be reset by using the return key. 4
Any errrs shwn represent a fault with the netwrk, In perating cnditins, when all machines are cnnected, the CpLk (electrical quality f the netwrk) and Frm (checksum n the data packets) cunters shuld nt increase at all. The lcatin f any errrs can be determined referring t the serial numbers where the cunters are registering errrs. Generally replacing a cable used in this lcatin will clear the fault. Server mnitring The first page f the Server Mnitring sectin makes it pssible t mnitr the Disk Status, Genlck and Timecde f the XT server. It is available by selecting SHIFT-F5 in the Multicam applicatin. Fr mre infrmatin refer t sectin 4.3 f the Versin 8.04 - Sftware Technical Reference Manual. Lp Mde Lp mde is nw pssible n an XT[2] Server, hwever it can nt be perfrmed internally and requires a physical cnnectin (BNC t BNC cable) between the BNC scket marked LOOP n the back plane and an utput frm the channel t be replayed (the LOOP cnnectr verrides the cnnectin t input 1 f the XT when the LOOP functin is enabled n the remte panel). The Lp scket may nt be present n all XT[2] machines but can be fitted if necessary. Make Lcal If a Play-list is created that cntains clips frm a netwrk server, there is nw a cmmand t make the clip lcal. T select this feature, recall the playlist, press menu and the Make Lcal (B) key. 1.5 Knwn Issues Create a playlist and lad it. If yu g back t live and mve t anther machine the clip that was last laded n the player, the playlist will nt relad. Occasinally the clip TC displayed n the remte in timeline mde may nt be accurate. Setup Menu, Audi Meters Adjustment : when this parameters is set t 10 r 12dB, the audi meters n the OSD disappear. When lading a clip r playlist after a netwrk train, then marking a cue live, the cue is marked n the lcal trains, nt n the previusly laded netwrk train. Freeze n OUT pint in recrd trains in target tracking desn t wrk when in PLAY VAR nly. It is OK in nrmal play. When pressing BROWSE in playlist mde, this can cause the AUX clip t start playing. If the user pushes the play key r mves the lever immediately after that, the playlist will start while the AUX clip is already playing, thus they will nt be synced prperly. T avid this, befre starting the play again, press the PLST key first t recue the playlist, r mve the jg dial. Smetimes that after upgrading, the Audi IN/OUT field (type f audi cnnectrs installed n the system) has been reset t Nne. Always check that the value f this field is the same befre and after the upgrade. Adjust the value after upgrading if necessary. In ADA Adjustment mde, Output 4 actually shws the vide incming n Input 2 rather than Input 4 (bug nt present in XT[2]). In Lad Playlist cnditinal, when a different playlist is laded n 2 PGMs, the playlist name displayed n the first PGM crrespnds t the name f the playlist laded n PGM2. The images are crrect. After having dne a search n the remte, the brwse functin always brwses in the results f the clip search, it is nt then pssible t brwse in the clips f the remte. 1.6 Limitatins Timeline shuld nt be used n XT1 risks f audi prblems in sme cnfiguratins. Clear Vide Disks frm EVS Maintenance Menu is necessary when upgrading frm versin 04.xx.xx, 5.03.xx r lwer! This is nt necessary when upgrading frm versin 05.04.16 r higher. The internal lp mde is nt available with HCTS HD systems r with Super Mtin systems. The keywrd file must be distributed t all systems n a netwrk by the Netwrk Server. Hwever, if this machine is discnnected fr any reasn, anther server will autmatically be designated as Netwrk Server and will nw be in charge f distributing the keywrd file. If the ld Netwrk Server is recnnected t the netwrk but des nt recver autmatically its Netwrk Server status, the machine acting as the current Netwrk Server must be discnnected in rder t allw the ld ne t take back that jb and distribute the keywrd file again. This will be reslved in a future versin by allwing a system nt acting as Netwrk Server t distribute keywrd files as well. When playing HD Super Mtin material thrugh the netwrk with the default settings (HD vide bitrate 100Mbps and netwrk speed 540Mbps), the netwrk is clse t its perfrmance limit and this may cause ccasinal freezes. Playback at 50% r 33% dependant n camera type, is OK. If yu want t play super mtin material n air at 100% speed, yu shuld make a lcal cpy f the clip first, r wrk with the 1485Mbps netwrk. Resetting the Prtect Clip Pages parameter in the setup des nt reset the prtect status f existing clips. 7
