Outside Business Hours Request... 9 What It Looks Like... 9 What s Actually Happening... 9 Solution... 9 LOGIN DIFFICULTIES- TIMED OUT I used the correct username/password combination, but it won t let me log in! WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE There is an endless loop occurring between the MySOU portal, AIMS, and Internet Explorer. Two choices. Either will work just fine: 1. Use Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, or Safari (Mac) as your browser instead of Internet Explorer. All of these browsers are free. Firefox and Chrome are installed on all campus lab computers. 2. Instead of going through the MySOU portal, go to the Disability Resources website at www.sou.edu/access/dss and click on the Sign in to AIMS link.
LOGIN DIFFICULTIES - EXPIRED I used the correct username/password information, but I can t get in! WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE Generally, this happens when a student has been on temporary or conditional status. In order to reactivate your account, you will need to schedule an appointment with the Director or Accommodation Specialist. You may need to provide additional documentation at that meeting to continue services. I FORGOT MY LOGIN INFO NOW WHAT? Is it the same as my network/mysou login? It might be, if that s what you set it to. The AIMS login is separate from your network account. If you forgot your password, Click on the Reset My Password link on the login page. Enter your username and the CAPTCHA (two words in the graphic). This helps us distinguish that you are, in fact, human. If you have trouble reading the words, try listening to the audio (click the speaker button) or enlarging the screen (CTRL+).
I RESET MY LOGIN INFO, SO WHERE S THE EMAIL WITH NEW INFO? There are a couple possible reasons that your reset email doesn t show up. 1. You entered your username incorrectly. 2. Your account status has expired. S 1. In either case, please email us at DSS@sou.edu. We can figure out what happened and let you know what needs to happen from here. If you can, please send a screenshot of the error message, as this will help us figure out the problem. HOW DO I CHANGE ACCOMMODATIONS? I dropped a class or need to add an accommodation for a class I already registered. 1. Log in to AIMS 2. Scroll down until you see the classes for this term listed 3. Click either the Modify Request link or the Cancel Request link, whichever is appropriate 4. Complete the questions on the next page and click Submit. DO I HAVE A NOTETAKER YET? I signed up for notetaking, but haven t seen any notes yet. What do I do? There are a couple of potential issues. You may not have selected notetaking for that specific class, or we may not yet have a notetaker assigned. 1. Log in to AIMS and scroll down to see the classes for which you have requested accommodations this term. 2. The screen will list the classes you have registered and what accommodations you have requested in each class. Make sure that this list is what you expected to see. If you need to make changes, click on the Modify Request link for that class and make changes.
3. If all the requests are as you expected, then click on the Notetaking Services link on the left. 4. You ll be able to see the status of each of your notetaking requests. If Disability Resources has not been able to recruit a notetaker, please consider talking to one or two of your classmates about signing up as a notetaker, if that s comfortable for you. Another option is to discuss with us the use of a Livescribe pen.
I GOT AN EMAIL SAYING I HAVE NOTES TO DOWNLOAD. HOW DO I DO THAT? Download your notes from AIMS. 1. Log in to AIMS. 2. On the left, click on the Notetaking Services link This will display notes that are available to download. 3. Click on the Available Note(s) for Download (Click to Expand) button to access downloadable notes. 4. Click on the Download Note link for the notes you wish to download. 5. You may choose to open the notes or save them directly on your computer. If you choose to save them, you will be prompted to choose your desired location and name of the file.
