TOOLS AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED Phillips screwdriver Flat-tip screwdriver 10 mm Combination wrench Ratchet 10 mm Socket 3. Remove the meter panel (two self-tapping screws and two clips). CLIPS (3) PANEL MP3 5804580Y INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. 5. Gently pull out on the left side of the audio panel to release the two clips, then pull out to release the remaining three clips. Unplug the vehicle connectors and remove the audio panel. 7. Remove the driver s and passenger s center console trim pieces (three clips each). Take care not to damage the clips. DRIVER S CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PASSENGER S CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PANEL CLIPS (5) 5412051B CLIPS (3) 6. Remove the audio unit (four screws, pull the audio unit out toward you, unplug the vehicle connectors and antenna lead). 8. Remove four self-tapping screws that fasten the center panel. CLIPS (2) 20-PIN (2WD vehicle only.) CENTER PANEL ANTENNA LEAD (Reuse.) 5727401Y 9. Pull the center panel out toward you to release the two clips. 10. Remove four screws that fasten the left and right vehicle brackets. Pull the heater control unit and pocket out toward you, and unplug the vehicle connectors. 12. Install the DIN bezel to the player. Set the heater control unit on the player, and attach the left and right player brackets to the player and the heater control unit using the two self-tapping screws removed in step 11 and four 5 x 8 mm washerscrews included with the player. 20-PIN LEFT 30-PIN (Removed in step 11.) Remove the left and right vehicle brackets (six self-tapping screws), and separate the heater control unit from pocket. Set the pocket aside, it will not be reused. Installing the Player 5715030Y 13. Route the bus cable from the audio panel opening to the heater control unit opening. Using one wire tie, secure the bus cable to the vehicle harness. (reuse.) LEFT (Not reused.) (reuse.) 14. Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector to the audio unit. 16. At the heater control unit opening, attach two EPT sealers to the bus cable at the location shown. EPT SEALER WIRE TIE HARNESS 20-PIN AIR DUCT 5426250Y OPENING 15. Connect the two vehicle connectors and the antenna connector to the audio unit. Insert the audio unit into the audio panel opening and secure it with the four screws that you removed in step 6. 30-PIN 5426131Y 17. Secure the bus cable to the vehicle harness using one wire tie. 18. Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector to the player. Cassette player 19. Remove the two washer-screws from the dashboard. LEFT WASHER- (reused.) 20-PIN 30-PIN CASSETTE 5426140Y MP3 player (reused.) WASHER- (reused.) 5426161Y MP3 5426150Y 20. Connect the vehicle connectors to the heater control unit, and reinstall the heater control unit using the four screws you removed in step 10. 21. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 22. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 23. Enter the customer s radio anti-theft code, and reset the radio station presets. 24. Set the clock. 25. Check the operation of the player according to the owner s manual supplied with the player. 26. Put the player Owner s Manual in the glove box. 27. Reinstall all removed parts. NOTE : Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver s AUTO function is disabled. 28. Start the engine. Push down on the driver s window switch until the window is fully open. 29. Pull up on the driver s window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 2 seconds or more. 30.
